The banquet was merrily underway, and after Third Prince Dan had drank a few toasts to the gathered guests, and saluted his father, he stepped outside the banquet hall for a quiet stroll.

Some Palace guards followed him instantly, but he waved them away.

They saluted him respectfully, then left.

He just needed some time on his own, before he entered the hall again to receive the rewards his father would bestow on him, which were actually more responsibilities disguised as presents.

Since he joined the military at the early age of twelve, he had continuously proven himself on the battlefield, and excelled in any royal assignment he was given.

He exerted much effort because he wanted to help his mother and sisters gain more relevance in the Palace, and for his father to notice him more.
