To Become An Alchemist!

"I see," the middle-aged man said. He pulled out two stones from behind the counter and placed them on it. "Inject your Qi into both of these stones. One on the left only reacts to the fire Qi and the one on the right only reacts to the wood Qi."

Drog nodded his head. He extended his left arm towards the stone on the left and his right arm towards the stone on the right. He started injecting fire Qi into the that only reacted to the fire Qi and his wood Qi into the stone that only reacted to the wood Qi, and they both started shaking.

"You can stop," the middle-aged man said.

Drog stopped injecting his Qi into the two stones and they stopped shaking. He lowered his arms to the sides of his body.

"You have both fire and wood element affinities," the middle-aged man said. "Which means that you can indeed become an alchemist. I will need your identification insignia."

Drog pulled out his identification insignia from the pendant hanging on his neck and placed it on the counter.

The middle-aged man picked up Drog's identification insignia. He held it in his hand for a few seconds and then put it down back on the counter. "You can take it."

Drog took his identification insignia and stored it inside his pendant.

The middle-aged man pulled out a green jade from behind the counter and held in his hand for a few seconds before saying, "You are now a trainee alchemist, Drog." He put the green jade back to behind the counter. "To become an alchemist, you will have to pass two exams. The first one is a written exam that is split into two parts. These two parts are plant identification and pill refinement theory. And the second one is a practical exam in which you will have to create a simple pill. To prepare for the written exam, you will have to head to the library and ask for the alchemy exam material. To prepare for the practical exam, you will have to first pass the written exam, because only then you will be allowed to rent an alchemy room. When you will be able to rent an alchemy room, you will be able to practice making pills. To take the exams, come to this building and talk to whoever is sitting in my place. Any questions?"

Drog shook his head. "No."

The middle-aged man nodded his head. "Goodbye and good luck."

"Goodbye," Drog said. He turned around. "Let's go, Lucia."

"Okay, big brother Drog," Lucia said.

Drog and Lucia left the peak. They arrived at the main peak.

"Are we now going to the inner disciple peak?" Lucia said.

"No. We are going to the library."

Lucia nodded her head. "Okay, big brother Drog."

Drog and Lucia walked to the library and when they reached it, they entered it. They approached the counter at which sat elder Yan.

"Back so soon?" elder Yan said.

Drog nodded his head. "Yeah. I need alchemy's exam material."

Elder Yan nodded his head. "So the girl not only has a talent that is so high that it shatters the martial talent testing stone, but she also has both fire and wood element affinity."

"You are not wrong, but you are misunderstanding something," Drog said. "She is not taking the tests to become an alchemist, I am."

Elder Yan's eyes widened. "What did you say?!" he couldn't help but shout out. "You have both fire and wood element affinity?!"

Drog nodded his head. "That's right. Now about that material."

Elder Yan hastily nodded his head. "It's on the floor that is above this one. Third bookshelf from the right."

"Thank you," Drog said. He and Lucia walked to the staircase and ascended one floor. They walked towards this third bookshelf to the right and began searching. They found three very thick tomes and returned to elder Yan.

"That's all of them," elder Yan said. "Good luck in your studies and don't forget to cultivate."

"I won't, elder Yan," Drog said and left the library with Lucia. They walked to the restaurant and sat down at one of the unoccupied tables. A waitress came up to their table. "Welcome," she said as she gave them a menu each. "Take your time." She walked away from their table.

Drog and Lucia looked over all the items in the menu.

"What will you eat, big brother Drog?" Lucia said.

"I will eat a meat bun and drink a green tea," Drog said.

"I will eat the same," Lucia said.

Drog and Lucia ate and returned to the outer disciple peak. There, they separated. Drog went to his cave and sat down cross-legged. He pulled out the first tome and opened it. It was a tome of plants.

Without even looking at the text, Drog recognised the plant in the illustration. He looked at the second one, the third one, the fourth one. He recognised them all. He flipped through the entire tome and there was not a single plant that he couldn't recognize. He put the first tome away and took the second tome. He opened it. This tome like the last tome was a tome of plants. He skimmed through it and he recognised all the plants.

Drog opened the third tome. It was the tome of pill recipes and he started reading.
