11 The Fight For Team Captain (I)

"I dare you to say that, One. More. Time!"

Argo didn't know why he felt a deep chill upon hearing those words. His insticts screamed at him to run far, far away from the danger before him.

"I can help you" He calmed himself and said after a pause.

"I don't need your help" Adah turned away and resumed walking with the same cold expression on her face.

"What if I say I have a way to increase the number of times you can shoot"

Adah Sun sharply stopped in her tracks and turned to look at Argo with an incredulous look on her face.

"Interested now, huh?" Argo chuckled.

Brand new morning at Hitachi High School.

The Arena was fully packed just as the last two days. Everyone was excited for the day. There were going to be a twelve-man Battle Royale, the winner of which was going to join the team of representatives.

The Semi-finals and the finals were also going to be held. As the four contestants that made the semi-finals were already assured of a spot in the representative team, one would assume that the intensity of the remaining matches in the tournament would be lower.

They were wrong.

If anything, the intensity would be ramped up for the semi-final and final. Why? Because the winner of the tournament would serve as team captain. And there are always perks to being captain.

In the Arena dugouts, the twelve contestants that we're participating in the Battle Royale were finishing up their final preparations. Some were stretching and warming up, a few were swinging their wooden swords and practicing some moves, others were simply resting.

If any one were to enter the place at the moment, they would find that there was a clear division among this group of twelve. One of the groups consisted of eleven contestants who sat together, and were on guard against the other party. A lone figure who sat quietly at the far end of the room.

One could only imagine how powerful the lone figure was, if the other eleven. contestants had to team up against them.

"It's time for the Battle Royale to begin. This is not just your normal Battle Royale, this is a battle that determines who the fifth member for the representative team will be. I hope you all are excited and ready, because this will be one hell of a fight" The anchor continued hyping the battle.

"Now, let's welcome our participants up the stage to take their places."

The twelve participants filed up the stage and spread out. Eleven of them loosely surrounding the twelfth participant.

"Let the battle begin!"

For the first five seconds of the battle, no one made a move. Even though they had allied together to deal with Adah Sun, the eleven participants did not trust each other and thus were wary of being t themselves and their opponent. They also knew that the first ones to make a move were the most likely to be eliminated.

Adah did not plan on giving them enough time to think about what they should do, as she started shooting at the ones nearest to her.

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

She shot at four people, eliminating them from the competition. But as a result, her hands were trembling. It was clear that four shots were her limit.

The seven surviving participants relaxed after seeing her shooting stop. They had witnessed her battle with Argo and knew that she was almost helpless with put her gun. They did not see her as much of a threat anymore.

Up in the VIP area, the teachers were shaking their heads in disappointment at how the battle had turned out.

"Sigh...she's still too young and inexperienced." One of the teachers shook her head and sighed.

"Right. She shouldn't have wasted all her shots at once." They other teachers echoed, lamenting Adah's inexperience.

A moment later however, they were so shocked at the events happening on stage, that you could fit an egg in their wide open mouths.

Even the Principal and the mysterious old man could not help raising their eyebrows in surprise.

A few moments ago in the Arena, Adah had just eliminated four opponents. The other seven remaining were not as afraid of her as before. They tried to convince her to surrender.

"Miss. Adah, please surrender now. We really do not wish to bring any harm to you." One of them spoke with a soft tone.

"Hmph...why are you begging her? She should surrender now if she knows what's good for her. Or I'll punch that pretentious face of hers" A girl sneered, her voiced dripping with jealousy. She had always envied Adah. She clenched her feet as she remembered how everyone seemed to like and worship Adah, but no one seemed to care about her. Even her temporary partners were trying to convince Adah to surrender instead of outright eliminating her.

She was thoroughly enraged.

She boldly stepped towards Adah. She was no longer afraid, as she knew that four shots were Adah's limits.

That was a grave mistake.

As soon as she came close, Adah whipped out another gun from behind her. The girl's eyes widened as she tried to dodge, but she wasn't faster than a bullet.

BANG!

She had been eliminated from the battle. A transparent shield appeared around her to prevent further harm on the girl.

Both the audience and the now six remaining participants were shocked from the turn of events.

The six participants took a few steps back in fear.

"M...miss Adah...no Goddess Adah. We really didn't mean it, we were only..."

Adah Sun did not have the patience to listen to their bullshit.

BANG!

BANG!

Six shots later, six people had been eliminated. Adah Sun turned and calmly walked out of the Arena. The anchor was still in shock and hadn't announced the winner yet.

Far from the calm expressions portrayed on her face, Adah was feeling a mixture of emotions. She was angry at Argo for eliminating her from the competition in the face place, she was thankful to him for helping her win her battle, she was also curious and amazed at the gun he had gave him. The gun that allowed her to fire six times without feeling any drain in her stamina.

She looked down at the gun in her hand.

She didn't notice it, but all her thoughts were about Argo.
