The Bringer of Time

This is why Mother Sky chose to found the basis of her cult in the everchanging mountains, the homeland of her mortal incarnation. The fifty-first grandson of the Duke who met with the Witch Doctor in an unmentionable time ago was called upon by Mother Sky to establish a country. He called it New Chu.

Thousands of temples and shrines were built to passionately worship the servant of his grandfather. That was Mother Sky's final revenge and marked the severance of her human life, her form of Number Two.

Mother Sky gave tremendous power to the theocracy, an elite force of priests who controlled all the cities. They owned all the farmland, books of forbidden knowledge, and vital irrigation techniques.

All the efforts of her were left unchallenged in the infinite recesses of the void until a red wise man arrived at the grand capital city of New Chu.

The wise man from distant lands joked that all empires no matter how powerful or large are bound to collapse from the insidious plots and ever-changing desires of people. There is no new dawn or golden age when a country flourishes. Dawn is but the start of a decline like all life-forms which are trapped in the river of Time.

How can this hold true? Surely an unrivaled militaristic empire unified to the core cannot be toppled. But Time slowly wears away everything, power, people and ideas wane. Only Time is constant.

The wise man also asserted that the dusk of Time is better than the dawn of Mother Sky. The embrace of night allows for us to rest, to rejuvenate, to be rebirthed for a day of new explorations and unchangeable learnings.

The King was so furious that he ordered the palace guards to drag the wise man into the city square and chain him onto the flagpole in the middle of the marketplace without providing any water or food and let all see in public what becomes of those who defy or question Mother Sky.

On the first day, the wise man preached to anyone who would listen that Time is a beautiful and benevolent deity who teaches people to appreciate the most minuscule things we have like the ability to eat, see, breathe, and laugh. The kind teacher of Time shows us how unbearable one day of total darkness is for one who cannot see.

On the second day, his condition visibly worsened as he coughed uncontrollably from dehydration and malnourishment. But, a miracle occurred. The wise man was struck by a lightning bolt, and when the townspeople approached, his flabby body had transformed into one of muscles carved to perfection.

Time himself has shown that fighting for a cause will not warrant punishment in his opinion. A farmer who was once unfit can transform himself in two months into a healthier figure with a longer lifespan. Time allows people to decide the duration of their lifespan, whether we pursue physical transformations that last over long periods of Time.

The wise man declares that Time is seeking to accept a disciple who can spread his teachings, making the medium a puzzle test he designed.

A shepherd boy won by persistently memorizing the layout of all the bricks on the city wall and then configuring the images in his head into a larger picture. He created a move called The Finger of Dusk. When the warriors of the King of New Chu tried to capture this self-proclaimed heretic, they were swept away and utterly defeated by one finger of the Shepherd Boy.

The masses of citizens of New Chu entered a wild frenzy of worshipping Time and following his disciple the Shepherd Boy.

Here is what purportedly happened when the Shepherd Boy received the teachings of Time:

All movement of the sun, clouds, and birds froze and became static. The followers of Time's disciple heard only an excerpt of the lesson which Time bestowed to the Shepherd Boy and it caused huge waves in the country.

Eyewitness people say that they heard a masculine voice boom: "Mother Sky is an insect before me. Look here at the universe, at all matter. Everything is being torn apart very slowly in forever changing patterns of order and disorder.

Mother Sky is powerless in front of the randomness of the universe which is constantly expanding to a maximum size, compressing rapidly, and then forming new planes of reality. Each plane of reality has a ruling deity, Mother Sky is only one of them. She is a minor deity who has fooled you!"

The blue sky turned red as it screamed in agony.
