Legend Of A Sword

Look, we're gonna skip most of the before reincarnation stuff alright? Adrian, the Mc gets reincarnated into 'The World' or Solsticia, and goes on an adventure. He becomes a host for the system, meets new people, and although slowly, will become a legend throughout the planes. Please note that the synopsis is not the full story. Please actually read first before rating this story...Thank you! *** Also I'm using this as a mere practice novel right now to improve on some of my skills. There will be grammar errors, plotholes, and details that I will be missing. This novel will have a crap ton of plotholes. This novel will be used for a decent amount of time before I drop it unless you all think it becomes good enough for me to keep going.

Preparations For A Tournament...(1)

Arriving at the academy, Adrian and Alice teleport into the classroom, with a few minutes to spare. Sighing that they were barely on time, they saw another portal open up. It was Bryan and Anemone.

'Seems like they were later, didn't catch why we were late...that's good...' Adrian thought.

Sitting down on their seats, the door opened and Mr. Walas walked in.

"Good morning students..." 'They're all here...' he noted.

"Good morning, professor." everyone orderly replied.

"Since everyone's here, I'll get started. Today's classes will be slightly different. For the students that haven't picked one, please come to the designated arena to pick your sub-class/jobs. For those that have already been receiving teachings, please come to the designated arena for a joint class. If you are confused, please look at your badge as it will tell you where to go." he said, not explaining it further.

Everyone looked at their badge.

Adrian looked at everyone's results but was surprised as everyone had at least one sub-class lesson in their schedule, meaning they would all be in a certain arena for testing.

The two look at each other in surprise. Before they could say anything they heard a question from one of the students, David.

"Professor, this seems to be a competition event, all of us barely have any experience and are already competing? Wouldn't it yield better results after at least the second week if not the first month of practice?" David asked.

"Everyone has the same ideas?" he looked around to see everyone nodding.

"Good. Now you see, by doing this, we solidify the positions of the highest-ranking class as they have the most freedom. After all, most of your classes are usually an 'hour' or so, while the other students have classes for nearly the entire day. Due to the fact that in 'real' life, no one will wait for you to show your strength, so by doing this, we give pressure to both the higher and lower leveled classes to do their best, and to be noticed by their professors even more. Any more questions?"

(A/N: This sounds so forced, I have no idea what I'm doing right now...)

"Good, now don't worry about bringing anything as the arena will have set items there for you. The items will be checked very frequently and even last second as well, so we can usually confirm that there will be no cheating. Now, follow your badges directions, off you go students." he waved them off before walking out of the classroom with his papers.

Looking at the leaving figure, everyone focused on their badge's directions. Following them, there seemed to be a few groups together. Adrian, Alice, Kinji, and Laura were one, Bryan, Benjamin, David was the second, and Anemone, Filia, and Zi You were the last group.

They arrived at the arena pretty quickly, but instead of seeing a whole crowd in the stands, there were just the professors.

'It...hasn't...been...even a...FUCKING...week...why should you expect us to compete with our little to barely novice level knowledge against others?' Adrian agreed with David's question while he was walking up the stairs to the platform.

'Seems like there was a portal for the other classes for their own places for 'training' for tomorrow's event.' Adrian observed.

"Hello, students of S class. We have separated you by the classes you've taken, alchemy, forging, formation, etc. Now, on to the more important information for tomorrow's 'event', students of the same sub-classes will be randomly picked and will enter a designated portal. It will be in a tournament format, the winner gets to advance to the next round and the ones who are defeated go to the other tournament." one professor explained.

"Adding on to that, to resolve possible ties, the students will make a higher grade version of the item you will be making in the tournament, going up until the opponent is no longer able to keep up." the second professor explained.

"For the prizes for the tournament, there will be 1st to 5th place and the honorable mention from the winner of the lower bracket tournament. As the tournament will be quick, and sudden, the prizes aren't too high, although, for those events later in the year when other students receive more experience, events like these will give much more credits. For the {Honorable Mention}, they will receive 5,000 credits. For 5th place, they will receive 10,000 credits, and going up in the order it would be 20,000, then 50,000. For {2nd Place}, you will receive a chance to be taught by a senior professor in a 5:1 time cube for 1 hour outside. For {First Place}, they will be taught by the vice headmaster, though the time is undecided." the third professor added in.

"Also, if any students have multiple sub-classes, you may choose the subject which you are best at if you so wish." the first professor added.

'Shit...that means I'm basically forced to try to meet the headmaster if I needed to win?' Adrian wondered what the headmaster looked like as it seemed as if Seth was the one doing all the real work.

Looking to his right he deadpanned seeing Alice's eyes brighten.

'Alice?...Alice!...you there...?' Adrian whispered and poked Alice.

'Huh? Yeah, I'm back now.' she cooly replied.

'Good. Anyway, umm...should I participate in the alchemy round or would you want to try your best aiming for #1?' Adrian telepathically said.

'Well, if we could both get #1, even if the quest didn't say it, wouldn't it be better if it was possible for an additional reward? So, in my opinion, you should just go for forging instead.' she replied.

'That's...actually a decent idea. Sure, I'll go with forging then.' Adrian nodded to himself.

"Alright! For those who are participating in forgery come to the right side, alchemy in the middle, and formations on the left!" a professor shouted.
