43 Harry's Warning

Moody limped towards Harry, "Well done boy. Quite an instinct you have got."

Harry smiled and nodded in acknowledgement.

Moody again limped towards the ferret, and one glare from him and Crabbe and Goyle, who were going to pick up the Malfoy turned white ferret, stammered backwards in fear.

The ferret gave a terrified squeak and took off towards the dungeons.

"I don't think so!" roared Moody, pointing his wand at the ferret again — it flew ten feet into the air, fell with a smack to the floor, and then bounced upward once more.

"I don't like people who attack when their opponent's backs turned," growled Moody as the ferret bounced higher and higher, squealing in pain. "Stinking, cowardly, scummy thing to do…." The ferret flew through the air, its legs and tail flailing helplessly.

"Never — do — that — again —" said Moody, speaking each word as the ferret hit the stone floor and bounced upward again.

"Professor Moody!" said a shocked voice.

Professor McGonagall was coming down the marble staircase with her arms full of books.

"Hello, Professor McGonagall," said Moody calmly, bouncing the ferret still higher.

"What — what are you doing?" said Professor McGonagall, her eyes following the bouncing ferret's progress through the air.

"Teaching," said Moody.

"Teach — Moody, is that a student?" shrieked Professor McGonagall, the books spilling out of her arms.

"Yep," said Moody.

"No!" cried Professor McGonagall, running down the stairs and pulling out her wand; a moment later, with a loud snapping noise, Draco Malfoy had reappeared, lying in a heap on the floor with his sleek blond hair all over his now brilliantly pink face. He got to his feet, wincing.

"Moody, we never use Transfiguration as a punishment!" said Professor McGonagall weakly. "Surely Professor Dumbledore told you that?"

"He might've mentioned it, yeah," said Moody, scratching his chin unconcernedly, "but I thought a good sharp shock —"

"We give detentions, Moody! Or speak to the offender's Head of House!"

"I'll do that, then," said Moody, staring at Malfoy with great dislike.

Malfoy at the moment muttered something about "my father will hear of this."

Moody limped towards Draco, "I know your father boy. Tell him Moody is keeping a close eye on his son."

Malfoy ignored Moody and turned towards Harry. He sneered, "Count your days Potter. My father will also hear of you and when he does."

Before he could even finish, Harry had marched across the space, and closed the distance between the two and without any hesitation smashed his fist into Malfoy's nose.

Thanks to his enhanced physique, Malfoy staggered two steps back and fell down on the ground with a thud, and blood oozing out from his nose.

Minerva almost screeched, "Mr. Potter."

But Harry cut her off in the middle, "Do not interfere Professor McGonagall. I am very sure you clearly heard that Draco Malfoy, heir to Ancient and Most Noble House of Malfoy publicly threatened me, Harry Potter, Lord Apparent to Most Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter and Black. Before that Draco Malfoy, fired a spell at me, a sole survivor of House Potter and Lord Apparent to Most Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter and Black."

He gazed all around, and his eyes slightly caught the astonished face of Daphne Greengrass.

His voice boomed in the corridor, "And if you don't understand, what does that means... Well, you can find about it yourself. But let me tell you what does that implies."

He stood in middle of the circle formed by the small crowd and Harry let loose a small portion of his suppressed magic, "I can without any hesitation, declare a blood feud with House Malfoy and kill this ferret... here and now."

He put extra emphasis on the word 'here' and 'now' to show that even Hogwarts did not limit his actions.

His flaring magic passed a chill down the spine of everyone present there, and he continued, "No magical law or authority would even lay a finger on me."

He turned and faced in Malfoy's direction, only to find him unconscious.

He continued, "What I have done to him is a mercy compared to what I can do to him. Considering the pathetic wizard, he is, I am not sure if he could even hit me with a single spell."

He continued to no in one particular, "Tell him, this is his last warning. If he ever tries to mess with me again..."

He did not complete the sentence, but meaning was clear.

"For the past three years, I have not had a single peaceful year. And I want this year to be peaceful, so do not come in my way, otherwise you may discover yourself at my wand's end. And that won't end well for anyone," stated Harry.

Harry walked towards Minerva, who had an incredulous expression on her face, "Professor I hope you have made required changes in my schedule?"

Minerva nodded absent minded, and bent down to pick up a parchment from her fallen books. She handed it Harry, who read it and confirmed his classes in glance.

"Thank you, Professor," said Harry.

Minerva again nodded absent minded in response. She had no freaking clue on how to deal with the situation.

Harry did not wait for anyone to react and started to walk towards the direction of library.

He was about to turn around a corner when again his voice sounded, "And yes, if all of you again decide that I am some kind of evil lord in making, discuss it among yourselves, discreetly."

His heavy voice flaring with resonated again, "And if you try bring that to my face then first consider if your family can go against the might of Potter and Black Family."

With the sound of Harry's fading footsteps, Harry was gone from the corridor.

Only after did Harry left, Minerva came out of her reverie. She turned towards Malfoy and levitated him in the air.

"Mr. Malfoy needs to be taken to Madam Pomfrey," declared Minerva and walked away briskly with Draco floating in the air.
