Dumbledore's Plan
September 1994
Gryffindor Common Room, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Harry took few more steps forward and stood in the centre of the common room, "I don't know how all of you got the idea that now I have learned of my family's legacy, history, its status and wealth; your status is not good enough for me to remain friends with you."
"I must advice you all to use your brain before coming to any conclusion. Tell me who is still the closest friend I have?" Questioned Harry.
No one present there spoke but in their heart, they already knew the answer.
Harry continued, "Hermione Granger. I don't think that I am friends with her because she has some kind of very high status or anything like that. Irony is that many of you would call her so called 'status' is among the lowest. Majority of the wizarding world will always consider her blood to be dirty, like Malfoy does."
Harry sighed, "Also, my mother, Lily Potter was also a muggle born. So, I don't think I need to explain any more of this."
Without giving anyone any chance to speak, Harry continued, "Now that, so many of you stand here accusing me of discrimination; answer me one question."
Harry's voice grew loud and cold, "How many of you ever stood up for Hermione when prats like Malfoy went on continuously abusing her? Anyone of you? None."
Harry glowing green eyes wandered around staring at everyone to answer.
Harry shook his head, "Let me make it clear. I don't give a fuck about what all of you think of me. This was last time I have bothered myself to explain to all of you."
"I am proud of my parents and what they have left for me, so don't expect that I would not acknowledge its legacy just because you all think I am flaunting my status," Harry declared this while staring directly at Ron, whose face had turned red from embarrassment.
With this Harry, walked out of the Gryffindor common room. Spending time with all those idiots was turning difficult for Harry.
September 1994
Headmaster's Office, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
While Harry was wandering around, aimlessly around Hogwarts, an old man was grinning in happiness in his office.
After being silent and not doing anything for more than few days, Albus Dumbledore had finally made his move.
It all started in the afternoon when, Severus came to report him about Harry forming a group with two Slytherin girls. What was even more grave, than this was the declaration that Harry made about the alliance.
Dumbledore enraged for good few minutes on hearing this. He cursed James Potter wondering how much information he had written in his diary. If Harry revived 'the Great Alliance,' then all the influence Dumbledore hade gathered in the preceding decade would go to waste. And so would go his dream of controlling the Potter fortune.
After calming himself down, a wonderful idea formed in his mind. Not only his idea would allow him to gain somewhat of his control back on Harry but would also alienate Harry from the legacy of his family.
For this he had instigate Ron, into isolating Harry in the Gryffindor house. No matter what, Harry was still a 14-15 year old child. On being isolated, Harry would definitely loose his hope and motivation about his family legacy and feel alone and alienated.
At that moment, as usual, he would appear as light of hope, planting suitable suggestions in Harry's mind.
For Albus Dumbledore, Harry's new behaviour was a mixture of his rebellious phase and his new knowledge of his identity, nothing more than that.
(FLASHBACK)
Locating Ron Weasley in Hogwarts was an easy task for Dumbledore. Fortunately for the old headmaster, Ron was alone at the moment.
His sudden appearance startled Ron Weasley.
"My dear Ron," greeted Dumbledore in his usual grandfatherly style.
"Headmaster," stammered Ron.
Dumbledore made a gesture and Ron followed him.
"I wonder why are you walking alone, Ron, my boy? Where are your friends?" Question Dumbledore.
Already annoyed at what had happened after the potions class, Ron fumed further, "Harry has changed, headmaster. He spends very little time with me. And Hermione is either busy in her books or with Harry. And today Harry formed his group with two Slytherins."
Dumbledore smiled, "Don't get angry, my boy. Harry is still a kid after all."
Dumbledore explained things to Ron as the Weasley idiot was a very mature person listening about the inadequacies of an immature kid.
He continued, "He has recently learned of his new status and his family's wealth. Maybe this is the reason he wants to associate himself with people of similar status to him. It is normal behaviour, Ron, my boy."
Ron widened his eyes in surprise as if he learned something top secret.
Ron asked, "What now, headmaster?"
Dumbledore's face turned grave, "I don't think we could do anything for now, my boy. Fearing this kind of result, I did not want him to know about his family. Now, he blames me for it."
Ron shouted, "He blames you, headmaster? When you wanted his betterment? How dares he?"
Dumbledore smiled, "Fret not, my boy."
Dumbledore's expression changed to like a priest giving a sermon, "It is only a matter of time before Harry realises the reality. His behaviour will push away his Gryffindor friends and he would be isolated due to this."
He declared in the end, "Isolation from his friends will make his realise his mistakes. Only then he will realise that wealth is not the most important thing in life. It can be freely earned and shared with friends. Friendship is the most important aspect of life."
An expression of instant realisation appeared on Ron's face and he grinned from happiness.
Dumbledore thought in his mind, 'Hope this would be enough for this idiot to do something. If not, then I will try again later.'
"I will take my leave, Ron, my boy," said Dumbledore.
"Uh…. ok," Ron came out of his stupor and exclaimed and with this Dumbledore walked away.
