The Decisions Is Made And Eldric Decides To Explore Around The House

"Very well, I approve." Eldric sanctioned Garen's suggestions. His words did make a lot of sense. In their particular area, the most frequent visitors were those of the Dire Beast race. No humans come this far off the road between Silverpeak and Frostfall.

Thus, they need not worry too much about the other areas. One man in each direction should suffice, and the majority of the knights would be stationed in the back area.

Eldric had no objection to this idea whatsoever. He stood up and left the room. He decided to leave the guard patrol and the decision regarding who the guards were to the elders. He had better focus on advancing to higher stages.

The elders were capable enough to handle these minor decisions. The rest of the day was no different from most; he helped the people who were busy with their daily tasks and spent time with his horse.

He even went to the farms and animal enclosures. He helped till the fields and fed the beasts. Eldric was quite excited when he learned that both the two tamers, Kieran and Maverick, had successfully advanced to Novice Beast Tamers.

It meant that the beasts at rank one could finally be tamed, and there was no need for the knights to exert themselves. The two tamers would be able to tame the beasts, and they would be docile and could finally be put to use more efficiently.

Given the task at hand, he left the two young men to continue with their work, wanting to ensure their progress was completed on time. With their effort and talent, they only needed a few more weeks to finally tame rank two beasts.

With spring in full flight, quite a few things would begin to take off. The beasts' population would expand, and the season and weather were just right for a few crops to grow. Although the House would still prioritize the barley and wheat, they could expand their current stock range if their finances would allow it.

The fishing would also substantially increase as the season went on. Eldric hoped to see a lot more trout and maybe even a few other types of fish that they could catch and rear.

Overall, the House was developing quite well; the only issue that they face is the Dire Beasts; many of the beasts would start to return from the warmer regions. Eldric wanted to finish the construction of the enclosures before they returned.

Two days passed, and the early morning was no longer filled with icy coldness. The sun had risen much earlier than before, and the rays that rained from above were warmer than any Eldric had experienced before.

The sunlight slowly filtered into the cavern and brightened it ever so slightly, accompanied by the sound of birds chirping.

Nothing had changed for Eldric. He had woken up and started his usual routine, and by the time the sun was at its peak, he had already finished his usual chores and tasks.

It was just that he wanted to take a more careful look at what was happening around the House. Thanks to the meetings with the elders and the chores he had to do each day, he had a vague impression, but he felt that it would not hurt for him to take a look.

After all, he could not cultivate every second of the day; he still needed to take time off.

As such, once he had finished his chores, he headed towards the fishery. The last time he visited was in winter a few weeks back, and it had only begun catching and breeding fish. The total amount had not even exceeded five fish, but today, Eldric went with the expectation that they would have more than five.

The fishery did not have a grand style of structure; rather, its buildings were plain and did not attract much attention. A large storeroom was built beside the fishery, where they had made a few dugouts where most of the fish were bred.

The area where the fish were caught was on the outside of the buildings, on the edges of the lake in shallow waters. Nets and traps were set all around the area. Each morning and night, the fisherman would come and see if anything was caught.

When Eldric first saw how they caught fish, he was told that they would mostly use nets with traps for the day. One man would be stationed here at all times while others would go and do tasks elsewhere. Thus, they would be able to ensure efficient work with minimal effort.

Eldric had just crossed the bridge over the river when he saw the building in the distance.

He could not help but take a good look around the area. The fishery was built on the other side of the lake where the House had yet to delve into, and as such, the forest stood tall; the building was quite a sight when looking upon it from the river.

When Eldric arrived, he was greeted by two men who he assumed were the fisherman stationed there. "Morning!" he greeted in kind.

The two men were dressed in long trousers and short shirts. The clothes were not that great in quality or color, but they did the trick. The trousers were rolled up, and the men had no shoes. Eldric observed them and realized the two men seemed to be wet. 'They probably just came out of the water,' he mused.

"How is it? Did we catch any fish of interest in the last few weeks?" He asked with a curious shimmer in his eye. The two men gazed at one another before one of them babbled, "No patriarch. If you are referring to new fish, we have not caught anything, but we have had quite the haul the last few days and caught a large grouping of fish."
