Hope said "Okay, then show it to us,"

"No Hope, it could be dangerous," Mr. Saltzman said.

"Don't worry, I can handle it," Hope answered.

Mr. Saltzman sighed, and said: "Fine,"

"Okay," Eric said.

After saying that From Eric's back, four long pulsing scaley black appendages with a glowy red hue came out. Each of these glowy tentacles was about 4 meters tall, they kind of looked like long black snakes but without heads. Alaric had never seen anything like this. After his appendages grew out from his back, his left eye also turned pitch black with a red iris in the middle.

"What the hell!?" Both Hope and Mr. Saltzman exclaimed at the same time while taking a step back while being intimidated by Eric's appearance.

"Eric, are you okay?" Mr. Saltzman asked.

"Yeah, I am fine," Eric answered.

After hearing Eric's voice, Mr. Saltzman let out a sigh of relief.

"What are those!?" Hope asked.

"The thing that I felt in my lower back," Eric answered.

"I know that, but what are they, and how were they inside you?" Hope inquired again.

"How the hell should I know?" Eric answered.

"It is okay, we will figure it out. So Eric, how do you feel exactly?" Mr. Saltzman asked.

"I feel like myself if that is what worries you," Eric answered.

"No, that wasn't what I meant," Mr. Saltzman said.

"Yeah, sure," Eric answered.

"Can you move them?" Hope asked curiously.

"Yes, I think I can," Eric answered.

After saying this Eric extended one of his appendages towards Mr. Saltzman and Hope. Both Mr. Saltzman and Hope touched his appendage.

"Wow, it is weird to touch it," Hope said.

"Yeah," Mr. Saltzman answered.

"It is like kind of hard because of its scales, but it is also soft to the touch. It is very bizarre," Hope continued.

"Enough touching, should we test these as well?" Eric asked while moving his appenages.

"No, I don't think that is really necessary for now, we have more important things to do, but what about your eyes?" Mr. Saltzman said.

"What about them?" Eric asked.

"Your left eye has turned completely black, with red pupils," Hope explained.

"It doesn't feel very different," Eric answered.

"That's ok, you might find some differences later on, but what are you going to call those?" Mr. Saltzman asked Eric.

"I am going to call them rinkaku," Eric answered.

"Rinkaku!? What does that mean?" Mr. Saltzman asked.

"It is Japanese, and can be loosely translated to shining scales," Eric explained.

"That is an appropriate name," Mr. Saltzman said while Hope was nodding her head with a look of realization.

"Can you retract your rinkakus?" Mr. Saltzman asked.

"Yeah," Eric answered, and quickly his rinkakus went back inside his body very quickly while his left eye also turned normal.

"That was fast," Hope commented.

"Yeah," Eric answered.

"So what is the next test?" Eric asked.

"The next test is the most important one, it is your diet test," Mr. Saltzman answered.

Then the trio went inside the school building again, but this time they went to the kitchen. In the kitchen, there were several students in there, but Mr. Saltzman said to them: "Can you leave this room please, we are conducting an important test, and it would be best if we do it alone,"

"Sure," One of the students said as the rest followed her outside while eyeing Eric. After they left the kitchen Mr. Saltzman locked the door behind them.

"Ok, now let's get to business. The first thing that we are going to test is going to be vegetables, we will see if you are able to consume them," Mr. Saltzman said.

After saying that Hope went and got some broccoli, carrots, and tomatoes. "Here, try them," Hope said as she handed the vegetables to Eric.

*Inhale*

*Exhale*

*Inhale*

*Exhale*

"Here we go," Eric was hesitant to eat them. He was not comfortable with the notion of eating humans, and this test would either confirm or deny that.

He took the carrot from Hope's hand, and slowly started to lift it up to his mouth, and took a bite from it.

.

.

.

*Blergh*

"Ah, it tastes so bad! It is like eating shit," Eric yelled.

*Puti*

After saying that Eric spits out the remaining carrot from his mouth.

"I am not going to touch that again, that thing was nasty," Eric continued.

"Ookay, let's continue with the rest of the vegetables," Mr. Saltzman said.

"No, no, no, let's just skip the vegetables, and start with meat," Eric said.

"Fine, we have some leftover turkey in the fridge from yesterday you can try them out, they aren't exactly fresh or warm, but they shouldn't be that bad," Mr. Saltzman said.

After hearing that Hope quickly went to the fridge, and took out several pieces of turkey.

"Here you go," Hope said as she handed Eric a slice of pizza.

Eric quickly took a bit from the pizza and chewed a little before promptly stopping.

"Is it any good?" Hope asked.

Eric shook his head before spitting out the pizza.

*Sigh*

"What else is there for me to try?" Eric asked with resignation.

"We have some animal blood that is for vampires, do you wanna try them as well?" Mr. Saltzman said with concern.

"I might as well try," Eric said calmly.

"Ok, I will go and get them," Mr. Saltzman said as he took out a blood bag from a small fridge, "Here," he said as he handed a blood bag to Eric.

Eric opened the blood bag and took a gulp from its content.

"I can't drink this as well," Eric said with a clenched fist.

"Don't worry we will think of something," Mr. Saltzman said as he patted Eric's back.

"Mhm," Eric muttered.

"Sorry for asking, but I just want to make sure, do you feel hungry?" Mr. Saltzman asked.

"No I don't feel hungry, yet," Eric answered.

"Wait, do you guys have any human blood available?" Eric asked.

"Human blood!? Why?" Mr. Saltzman asked with caution.

"Yes, human blood. I am sure you remember our first conversation about my enhanced senses and what I told you about them, I think human blood is one of my only options," Eric explained.

"One of? So you knew something about all of this?" Hope asked.

"Yeah one of them, I kinda had a sneaking suspicion about it, and I told Mr. Saltzman about it, but I hoped it wouldn't happen," Eric said.

"What are the other options?" Hope asked again.

"I think no one is going to like that," Mr. Saltzman said.
