1 Chapter One: My Name is Yusuke Chisaka!!

The sun rose in the Miyagi Prefecture of Tōhoku, Japan. A boy with brown hair yawned, stretching his arms. "New day… New Yusuke!" Yusuke exclaimed. Yusuke jumped out of his bed, yawning.

He grabbed his school uniform. Then exiting his room, running down stairs. He grabbed his headphones out of his bag, putting them around his neck. "Morning Ma." Yusuke said to his mom, cooking breakfast. "Morning Yusu, are we skipping breakfast yet again?" His mother asked.

"Yeah, gotta get the practice in!" He said, grabbing a piece of toast.

"You're Father will be home late tonight, so I'm going to be cooking salmon." His mom said. He would fist pump in celebration. He then walked over to his mom hugging her, "Can't wait!" Yusuke said. Yusuke turned, put on his shoes, grabbed his skateboard, and walked out of the house.

He hopped on his skateboard, riding down the street. He pulled out his phone, going onto spotify and listening to 'PINK' by Tatsuya Kitani. He rode down the street for a bit until, "Yusuke-Kun?" A female voice said. Yusuke stopped his skateboard, looking to his left.

A girl with short brown hair stood there, holding the newest issue of weekly shonen jump.

Yusuke's eyes widened, "O-One Piece!?!?" Yusuke asked. The girl nodded, slightly grinning. Yusuke stepped off his skateboard and walked over to the girl. A few minutes later, they both had looks of shock on their faces. "G-GARP-SAN!!??" Yusuke shouted. The girl hit Yusuke on the top of the head. "Be quiet… Idiot…" The girl said. Yusuke held the top of his head, "S-Sorry, Hanako-Chan" Yusuke said, bowing.

The two then began walking. "So you planning on joining a club this year..?" Hanako asked. Yusuke shrugged, as he rode on his skateboard as Hanako walked. "I don't think so, nothing seems interesting." Yusuke said, with a toothpick in his mouth.

"Where did you get that!!??" Hanako asked, in shock.

"From a table at the front of someone's house." Yusuke said. Hanako face palmed, "Of course you stole it…" She sighed. Yusuke looked at her confused, "I didn't steal it, I'm uh… Borrowing it." He smiled. Hanako clenched her fists, glaring at Yusuke. "Shut… Up…" Hanako said.

Yusuke scratched the back of his head, awkwardly smiling. "Sorry, habit of mine…" He admitted. Hanako sighed, "So, you didn't really give me an answer about a club…" Hanako said. Yusuke shrugged once more, "Unless there's a skating club, I could really care less…" Yusuke said.

"How about basketball?" Hanako said.

Yusuke looked at Hanako confused, "Being a manager, we really need some new players, we also need to one up the volleyball team." Hanako said. Yusuke sighed, "Whats with you and the basketball team..?" Yusuke asked.

Hanako shrugged, "I think if we get a great team, we can really create something special!! And you're just the addition we need!" Hanako said. Yusuke looked at her even more confused. "How so..?" He asked.

She looked at him like if he were stupid. "You're tall, you've got long arms, you're loud, and you're not easily approachable." Hanako finished. Yusuke had an irritated look on his face. "I'm easily approachable…" He said, as they arrived at school. 'Koshuru Senior-High School'

Yusuke grabbed his books, resting his headphones on his neck. He locked his skateboard to the fence and walked to class. "Just think about it, kay?" Hanako asked. Yusuke nodded, putting his headphones on an walking to class.

He walked into a classroom labeled 'Year One, Class Five'. He walked over to the back left corner, next to the window. He sat down, resting his head in his hand. Looking up front all the others students sat down, and the teacher arrived.

"Good morning class." The teacher said. "Good morning!" The class said in unison. Yusuke sat down as the class started. He looked out the window, watching the volleyball team load onto the bus.

A few hours later, the school bell rang. Yusuke walked out of the classroom, with his bag over his shoulder and his headphones on. Hanako tapped him on the shoulder. "Soooo..?" Hanako asked. Yusuke sighed, sliding one of his headphones ears back.

"Fine, I'll go today… If I like it, I'll stay…" Yusuke said.

Hanako grinned mischievously, "You'll love it, Yusuke-Kuunn~." Hanako said. Yusuke looked slightly terrified. Hanako scurried away like a cartoon character. Yusuke scratched the side of his head, slightly confused.

He walked down the stairs, out of the first year building. He walked over to the gym putting his bag down and taking of the coat of his school uniform.

He opened the door, walking into the gym. Basketballs were heard bouncing, colliding with the floor then shooting upward repeatedly. A tall boy, walked over to Yusuke. He was about 6 feet, 7 inches tall. Messy black hair, and a very well built body. "Who're you?" the boy asked.

Yusuke looked at the boy, "I'm here to do a trial for the basketball club…" Yusuke said. The boy squinted, looking at Yusuke. "Welcome, I assume you're a First Year?" The boy asked. Yusuke nodded, bowing. The bot chuckled, putting his hand out. "The name's Hidēyoshi Sasaki, I'm the Captain of the Basketball club, Nice to meet you!"

"But you can call me Hidē." Hidē said. Yusuke nodded, "I'm Yusuke Chisaka, first year…" Yusuke shook Hidē's hand. "… Nice to meet you." Yusuke said. The two walked onto the court. "You play any basketball..?" Hidē asked. Yusuke nodded, "I played a little at lunch during Junior high…" Yusuke said.

Hidē rose a brow at this, "so you've never played on a team?" Hidē asked. Yusuke nodded, "Though I think I'm pretty good…" Yusuke said. Hidē smirked, "I like your confidence… But words are nothing, I want tk see you play." Hidē said.

"If I make it to five points I win, but if you manage to get past me and score a point, you win." Hidē said. Yusuke squinted, "I feel like I've read that in a manga somewhere…" Yusuke said. Hidē chuckled, "People tell me that, but I truly came up with it."

The two then stood across from eachother at the three point line, as a group of students stood at the sidelines. The two smirked as they looked at eachother, and the whistle was blown.

"I'm going to beat him…" Yusuke thought. Hidē then checked the ball to Yusuke. "He must be a rookie… 'Played for fun' in middle school? Yeah, definitely a casual…" Hidē thought. Yusuke dribbled the ball running toward the hoop, before Hidē stood infront blocking him. Yusuke stepped back dribbling to the three point line before shooting.

The ball flew toward the net, as it hit the backboard. The ball fell onto the ground before going out of bounds. The atmosphere was silent, not a noise was heard from the group of spectators. Hidē looked at Yusuke, slightly nervous. "That was close… I went slightly easy because I thought he was just a casual… No holding back…" Hidē said. "I'm going to give it all I've got!!" The two thought in unison.
