Declaration of War

I held tightly onto my spear as Geto announced his attack.

What made him think that we would just let him get away?

"Let us curse each other freely."

The man finally finished with a grin.

"Geto-sama! The store is closingg!"

The gyaru looking girl that came with Geto shouted.

"Well, Satoru, these girls wanted to go get crêpes, you see?"

Geto said before waving and turning around to leave.

"And what makes you think we'll let you leave."

Teacher announced with an unusually serious expression.

"Don't even,"

Geto announced before a giant one eyed curse spirit manifested.

Smaller skeleton-like curses appeared from underneath me and my class's feets.

"Your students are in my striking zon—"

"Absolute Gambler!"

Two golden coins flipped into the air.

Infusing cursed energy into my spear, I performed a horizontal crescent slash downwards.

Killing off the curses at my foot, I utilised cursed energy onto my feets and leaped into the air.

Catching both the coins.

'Tails, and Tails'

I knew I can't beat Geto without putting my classmates in danger, so I instead focused on capturing his people.

Running my CPU like a brain at full force, I analysed the knowledge of the techniques.

That second technique was absolute dog shit, but that first one was a godsend.

I can lower the temperature of my surroundings to freezing point, effectively creating frost and ice.

While it'll be hard for me to control it, if I can get close to Geto's crew, I can freeze my surrounding area and trap them.

Glancing back while falling, I noticed that my teachers were prepared to engage, but as I felt a sudden presence I stopped in track.

"Like I said, Satoru's disciple, your precious friends are in my strike zone."

The man grinned even more as another cursed spirit manifested.

This one was even bigger than the one eyed curse and wielded axes in his hands.

It instantly swang down towards me,

I quickly froze the air around me as pillars of ice appeared on the floating air.

Making a ceiling of ice over me and my classmates, and encasing me in an orb of ice.

The axe swung down and hit my orb, shattering my ice as I fell back down on the ground.

Shards of ice pierced me as I healed myself with reverse cursed technique.

I'm going to be needing a lot more cursed energy for this.

A golden coin appeared as it flipped into the air, I again leaped up and caught it.

Feeling a great amount of cursed energy flow into me, I grinned.

It seems the special grade curse user sensed it as well as Geto had a look of sudden surprise.

The grin on his face vanished and was replaced with an indifferent look.

"Guys, let's go."

He announced to the rest of his crew, he realised that the situation is in our favour now.

I wasn't going to let them come here willy nilly and not be left with nothing.

There are consequences to declaring a war.

I used cursed energy to reinforce my body and charged forward.

My goal was to capture the girls, they have a smaller frame so I should be able to freeze them if I get close enough.

But first I'm going to need to get rid of one of these two curses that is acting as a wall.

"Guys, can you cover me!"

I asked my classmates as I slowly infused even more cursed energy into my spear.

"Roger!"

I could see Toge had already taken care of the skeleton curses, and Yuta had gotten his katana out.

Now that I know they will cover me,

I'll focus entirely on killing this one eyed curse and taking hostage for information.

I know Geto can't afford to go all out, otherwise he'd start the war right now, and teacher is still here.

And while teacher also can't do anything otherwise Geto would go all out on us,

He's keeping Geto in check.

And I can tell Geto is underestimating us, so we can at least get one of them.

Once I was done infusing quite the amount of cursed energy into my spear,

I squatted into a stance as I prepared to leap up.

Using more cursed energy to reinforce my legs,

I jumped into the air, and pulled back my arm and pulled cursed energy into my arm before pushing forward.

SHWISH!!!

Creating a bonafide sonic boom as my spear shot forward and towards the one eyed cursed spirit.

Hitting it straight in the eye and shooting pass, it landed in front of Geto's crew.

I could see the frown on Geto's face, as he urged his gang to leave.

Because they were in a hurry, most of them were not able to get on the curse properly in time.

Resulting in them hanging on the leg of the curse.

I was not going to let them leave,

I instantly froze the air again, and created ice on the air and beneath my feet.

I was floating and about to get pulled down by gravity,

Before I reinforced my legs with cursed energy and leaped off the ice block in the air.

Like a shooting star, I flew straight towards the direction of my spear,

I could see the other curse try to attack me again but Toge and Panda were keeping it occupied.

I don't have the time to pick back my spear so, as I landed on the end of the handle,

I pushed again and leaped upwards.

Breaking the handle, I jumped with enough force to be on the same height as the already taking-off curse.

Freezing everything around me again, I focused my range on the legs of the curse.

I could see the snarl on Geto's face as he prepared to pull out another curse.

But I had already frozen the legs of the duck-like creature.

The only thing keeping us still above ground was the fact that it was still flapping away.

I had to disconnect its leg before Geto did something drastic as a last ditch effort.

I got onto the surface of the ice and dashed forward towards the duck creature.

Preparing my fists, I was ready to break off the ice that didn't encase the gyaru girl.

I had only one shot, I have to get this.

If I can shatter all the ice here into pieces, I should be able to separate it all.

Pulling back my right fist, I sent a punch directly downwards, infusing a large amount of cursed energy at the last second.

My cursed energy turned red and black in colour as I felt a pump of insane power on my fist that connected to the surface of the ice.

Huh, what was that.

CLINK!

Shattering the huge block of ice into smaller pieces.

Freeing the curse as it then flew away, Geto waa definitely mad.

Falling down again, I tried to encase the air in ice again before I felt the time limit for the technique was up.

"Shit!"

I tried to search for any surface for me to jump on, and I couldn't find any.

Fuck, I have to get that girl. Speaking of, I quickly scanned the crystals of ice in front of me.

Finding my target, I quickly thought of a situation.

"Absolute Gambler!"

The golden coin flipped into the air.

'Heads!'

Shit! I have to catch it!

But, unfortunately it was too far.

I kept falling before I remembered something,

I was not alone.

"Gotcha."

A feminine voice resounded next to me as I saw strands of green.

Maki had leapt up into the air and caught me.

Still, even though I've stopped falling, we still have another problem.

"The girl!"

I shouted but Maki reassured me with a smile,

"Don't worry, we couldn't just let you do all the hard work. Look."

I glanced at where he gestured, and saw that Panda had thrown Yuta like a frisbee.

Yuta flew into the air as he caught the piece of ice the gyaru girl was encased in.

Looking back, I saw that the other giant curse was exorcised by the other Grade 1s teacher had brought along.

It seems that now that Geto was too far to do anything, the others had gone to action.

Heh, take that, asshole.

I was walking along the park when I noticed Maki was sitting alone on the bench.

It has been a few days since the declaration of war, and the 24th of December was coming.

My spear had broken, but teacher said he was going to get me a replacement on that day.

So, I was taking a walk to calm my mind from this bad feeling that I'm forgetting something again.

"Yo, Maki-chan."

"Hm? Ah, Kouya."

I went and sat next to her as we fell into a comfortable silence.

Observing the tree in front of us, I remembered something.

"Oh! Ah, Maki-chan, I broke your spear so I have to pay you back, right?"

I broke the silence,

"Oh, right. You've been using it for so long I kinda forgot that it wasn't yours."

"So… how much is it?"

"2 million."

"USD!?"

"No, Yen."

"Ah, that's a relief."

"Tch. Forgot you were rich."

"Heh, I'll send you the transfer by the end of this week."

She nodded and went back to observing the tree, as we fell into silence again.

"Hey,"

This time it was Maki who broke the silence,

I turned towards her.

"Hm?"

"You know… Right? Of my circumstances…"

Did she mean the fact that she can't use cursed energy? Heh, let me tease her a bit.

"That you're still a virgin? Yeah."

"Die."

She sent a jab forward, which I dodged.

"...but seriously, you know it, right?"

"That you can't use cursed energy? Yeah."

"Then you know why I'm called the failure of the Zenin clan, right?"

"Yeah."

We fell into silence again.

"You know, Maki,"

She turned to me.

"I think that it's a blessing that you can't see cursed energy."

She looked surprised.

"I mean, firstly, due to that you got kicked out of that stuffed up clan and we were able to meet you,"

"And secondly, I personally think you became this strong—and will continue to be stronger—due to the fact that you had to build yourself up, that's something really admirable, you know?"

"Ah, of course, I'm not saying being kicked out of your family is a good thing, but it seems you don't care much about them anyways, I'm sorry if that came out wrong…"

She stared at me, not saying anything, before she smiled a toothy smile and chuckled,

"Haha! No, no, you're right. Thank you, Kouya."

I smiled back,

"No problems."

"Ah, I'm going to have to talk about this with Yuta as well…"

She stopped as she scratched her head.

"I'm sure he wouldn't mind, he's not the type."

I replied, Yuta was a nice guy. A bit too nice…

"Hm, you're right. But, anyways, how is the interrogation with the girl going?"

"Teacher told me that they managed to find out who Geto will send to Shinjuku and Kyoto,"

"Which would allow them to better strategise who to send."

"Hmm, I see… Sooo, who are they going to send?"

Maki stretched her legs as she asked curiously.

"Ha! I already know what you're thinking, but no, you won't be dispatched."

"Tch."

"We found out that they were going to send most of their more powerful Curse Users to Tokyo, while they will send more cursed spirits to Kyoto,"

"So, they decided to send most of the Grade 1s to Kyoto, and the Grade 2s are dispatched as backup in Tokyo. I'll also be there alongside Toge and Panda."

"Hm, I see, and Yuta? He won't be dispatched?"

"No, apparently the higher ups didn't want to risk it, especially when we already had a high chance of victory."

"So, I'll be alone here with Yuta?"

"Sigh, yeah."

I sighed.

She grinned,

"Why? Jealous?"

"Heh, maybe. But, nah, this could be your chance to make a name for yourself with lots of witnesses, I didn't want you to miss it."

I shook my head in reply.

"Aww, how caring. I see your point, but it's fine. Even if I can't be there, I'll eventually prove my strength to the world."

"After all, like you said; I'm strong. They can't deny it forever."

And as such, we fell into silence again.

On the 24th of December, 2017, a Jujutsu Terrorist Attack was performed on Shinjuku and Kyoto.

This attack, dubbed the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, was orchestrated by Special Grade Curse User Geto Suguru.

On this night, multiple notable events occurred.

Firstly,

Special Grade Vengeful Cursed Spirit Rika Orimoto has been released from her curse with Jujutsu Sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu, causing him to lose his rank of Special Grade, which he then regained in a year.

Secondly,

Semi Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer Aoi Todo was promoted to Grade 1 after exorcising five Grade 1 Curses and one Special Grade Curse, all by himself with notable ease.

Lastly,

Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer Kouya Fujiwara was classified as a Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer due to his potential, and his killing of Special Grade Curse User Suguru Geto.
