46 Learning About Anastasia (Pt 1)

Fair and beautiful.

Peace-loving and kind.

Loves all and more importantly, loved by all.

Those are the qualities of the true heroine. Or at least it was in the "The Lost Princess". And thus Anastasia was born.

From a the moment she was born she was destined for great things, as the author intended. Of course she first needed to pass through some obstacles.

A poor childhood, no family, and her biggest obstacle was supposed to be me. The villainess.

Fortunately for me, I knew what would happen if I did what the real Elaine had done in the past, so I decided not to take that road. And since this world is quite real, this means that people are not just the 2-dimensional people they were as in the book.

Alex for example, was not as stupid as I thought (only after he meets Anastasia).

As such, I believe Anastasia to not be as pure of heart as the author made her out to be. I did not forget when she pushed me off the stairs in my debut/engagement party.

So when she suddenly stands up for me in front of the class, it just didn't add up.

Then I tried to think of it through her eyes.

What if one day, after years of suffering in the orphanage alone, having to work several jobs to get by, you meet the future king of the country? And that person seems to like you instantly? Who wouldn't use that opportunity to change your life?

That's why when the current Anastasia was standing in front of me and the three annoying girls with her palms held together, I smirked. What a perfect performance.

The three girls were going to shift their attention on Anastasia, which she probably knew was going to happen, to make it seem like she was the poor bullied girl who needed the rescue of the prince.

'What's your problem?'

'Yeah, who do you think you are?'

'Poor little nobody wants to go against us?'

The three small-time villainesses voice screech. They were starting to crowd Anastasia giving her glares. The leader of the three raised her hand wanting to smack Anastasia in her face while the other two grabbed her hands. Anastasia was pretended to be ready to take the hit and closed her eyes.

Just as Alex and Cedric was about to stand up and intervene, my chair screeched as it slid against the floor, taking all the attention back to me. The one who was quiet before. Also in the edge of my eyes I could see Anthony look up from his book on top of his desk. I made sure to observe him starting from this morning.

I took a deep breath of the fresh air breezing through the open windows of the elite classroom full of nobles and rich teenagers. The sound of my breathing filled the classroom.

I walked to the front of the class where the girls were huddled up and said, 'You know.... I really hate b*tches.'

Then I punched the girl with green hair with a straight punch to her perfectly well maintained face and did a front kick to the girl with yellow hair, unlike Anastasia's golden locks. They both fell to the floor. I'm really starting to love my red-belt.

The leader girl was shocked by my move and had now completely forgotten about Anastasia. She had her back towards her and faced me instead with her jaw falling to the floor.

'You-you-you-', she stuttered.

'I what? Don't have magic? I guess the only thing I can do now is-', my hand flung right in front of her face, stopping just when it was about to hit her perfect nose. I only thought of scaring her since Anastasia wasn't in danger anymore, but she just passed out going down like a balloon.

Funny thing was, had that punch hit her, it would have probably broken her nose since the speed and strength was quite powerful enough to blow wind past her short blue hair.

Now I was facing Anastasia who had her eyes wide open. Good, she can she who saved her. Again.

'Are you insane?' A voice from behind me shouted. I can recognise that shrill of a voice anywhere. Turning around on me heels, I just gave a look to Alex.

Cedric on the other hand was still shocked by what happened just like the rest of the class. The only one acting suspicious was Anthony who tried to hide his smile behind his hand while looking past the window to the outside.

Then the door to the classroom opened and a teacher shouted, 'What happened in here?' After a quick glance to me and Anastasia, as well as the three girls on the floor, he glared at me and Anastasia.

'It was her! Elaine!', the green haired girl pointed towards me with one hand while the other was holding the part where I punched her face.

'Ye-yeah! She kicked me!', this time the blue haired girl was the one who spoke up.

Anastasia just looked like a deer in headlights. Although I think a rabbit would be a better comparison.

What happened after that was easy to guess. I was called to the principal's office and given a three day suspension. Elaine's parents were also called to the school and was told what happened. I got scolded by them for a few hours after we arrived at the manor.

Finally they let me go to my room and Lisa was to prepare me dinner in my room. They saw that as a punishment.

Three day suspension huh? I was hoping for a week. Rather than learn in a classroom, I'd prefer investigating Anastasia to confirm my suspicions about who she really is and whether I can get her as my ally since I still cannot say for sure what her character is.

'Here is your dinner Lady Elaine.'

'Thank you Lisa.' I smiled at her.

'It is no problem.' She smiled back at me. 'I have to say I was impressed with your skills Lady Elaine.'

I laughed at her comment, I have to say that she is quite the funny maid. With that she excused herself from my room.

That night I slept like a log.
