Chapter 41, True Beast

We teleported back to the Ancient Tree when suddenly Danny grabbed my hand and pulled us to meet with Yggdrasil.

"Something wrong?" I asked as Yggdrasil sat on her bed.

"Le Fleur, forgive me." She said as she bowed her head. "I caused you trouble. I know you have many tasks on your shoulder but this is something you must know of immediately."

"Go on." I told her.

"It seems that the tables have turend, your world os in grave danger." She said. "The one who sleeps there, the Beast that Distorts, has awakened as a True Beast."

"True Beast?" Angie asked as my face was filled with fear.

"We have to hurry back, now!" I exclaimed and suddenly Will took my arm.

"What's wrong?" He asked. "Tell us. What are True Beasts?"

"True Beasts, they are... the original form of the Chimeras-no of the Lost Beasts." I answered. "They are... the Beasts given Intellect."

"Meaning?" Andrew asked.

"They... have evolved to gain knowledge similar to human. They're longer just beasts that attack, they have become more intelligent and have gained a great deal of knowledge." I told them. "We have to hurry back or... everyone will be killed."

"Okay then." They said and Yggdrasil stood up.

"I'll send you back, please,be careful." She said. "I pray for your victory."

"Thank you." I answered as we were engulfed in a slurry of leaves and flower petals.

-----

"Everyone, be prepared, here it comes!" I told everyone as it emerged from a vortex in space.

Capricorn should have large bodies and long tails with horns but... what is that thing that emerged from the portal. It's atleast four times larger than the largest Capricorn recorded.

"Brace yourselves!" May shouted when the Capricorn began swinging its tail.

It began blasting rays of light in all directions, the rays are so fast that we barely have time to dodge it. I we struggle to dodge the attacks of the Capricorn I notice something is wrong with the Vi in the air. I can't absord it as much as usual.

"Ugh... it's... so difficult... to replenish our Vi." Karin said.

"It's disrupting the Vi within the area. Everyone dne sire to control the amount of Vi you use!" May announced.

At this rate, with its relentless attacks and our depleting Vi we'll be sitting ducks.

"Fall back!" I shouted. "Regroup at Camp!"

At base camp everyone has gathered and we're trying to come up with a way to attack it.

"We can't go charging in since it's disrupting the natural Vi that is in the air." Takao, the vice-president of the council said. His dark brown hair messy and his black eyes show shine of lack sleep.

"Then we attack it from a distance." Karin said.

"That'll be difficuot. Capricorn can just disrupt our attack and send it off course." Mayumi, the president said as she fixed her wavy black hair and stared at the map with her black eyes. "Is there nothing we can do?"

"We have to hurry, at this rate, it'll destroy the school and the city." Diana said.

"But we can't exactly attack it." Leo said. His the captain of the Zodiacs Group. His golden messy ahir and golden eyes filled with determination. "If we can't attack it then what do we do?"

"My Arrows might be able to attack it without going of course." I stated. "If anyone else can use attacks that they can directly control help me. We'll launch an attack on it."

"I see, since the attacks are controlled directly you can adjust them if they go of course." Leo said and I nodded.

"I'll help." Mayumi said. "I'm the Brave of Thorns after all."

We gathered a good distance from the Capricorn on a nearby hill and launched our attack. In my hand a scepter appears, I raise the scepter to the sky and arrow emerged. I launch the arrows at the Capricorn and they make direct contact. Yes it seems to have worked. Seeing it as a sign of hope the others also have landed their attacks. We rian down an assault of arrows and thorns and explosives on the Capricorn and manage to injure it.

I focus and keep attacking launching multiple arrows at it. Each arrow different from the otehrs. Fire, Electric, Ice, Poisoned, I have many arrows to try on it. I'll let it taste Every last arrow in my quiver if I have to. I won't let you destroy this world.

Our attacks seem to have a good effect on it. If we can keep this up we might be able to weaken it enough to cause its ability to waver. We keep on the pressure and force into a corner. We'll keep this up and weaken it so that the others can attack it from close contact.

Suddenly, the Capricorn lets out a glass breaking shriek and a handful of Braves fall to the ground. It was to disrupt our attack but a handful of us can still attack it so we keep attacking.

Just then, the Capricorn turns to pur direction and a ray of light begins to shine from its body. I immediately tell the others to dodge but we didn't makke it. The hill we're on is hit and the ground comes crumbling down. Some of us have the common snese to use the debris as bases for jumping. When the rubble and dust clouds clear I find myself lying on the ground, my body badly injured and exhausted. I can't feel the Vi in me either.

I struggle to move or get up, I try to look around only to see the Capricorn in the distance destroying everything in its path with rays of light. At this rate, it'll only destroy the city and the school. I don't think I have the strength to stop it either. Damn it. Is this how it ends?

I'm sorry, Arata, Will, everyone, we promised to protect the world you would return to but... it's seems we failed.

Just then, as my sight grows hazy I see a petal fall before my eyes and suddenly a slurry of petals and leaves emerge infront of me and from it they appear.

Arata, Will and the others along with a few people I don't know. Arata smiles at me and I lose consciousness the next minute.
