Chapter 38, Danger

"Oi, Tenth, can you hear me?" A voice asked and I opened my eyes. A young man with rose red hair and eyes greeted me. He had white skin and smiled down on me with a charming smile.

"Ugh... where am I?" I asked.

"In the Dream Palace, you can just call me Aster, I'm the Third Generation." He greeted. "I brought you here because you were unconsciously using my ability."

"You ability?" I asked.

"You know that ability to peer into the past, present or future?" He asked and I nodded. "That's my ability. The Absolute Clairvoyance."

"So, what do you mean I'm using it unconsciously?" I asked him.

"The ability allows you to peer into the past, future and present but it can greatly endanger the user if it isn't used properly." He said. "You haven't noticed but you unconsciously use this ability. Which is why you are plagued by sudden visions."

"Then, that's why I'm here now?" I asked.

"Nah. I pulled you here cause I was worried. After the incident yesterday I was worried completely. Thankfully Emilia managed to pull you out of it." He said. "So, I came to you to help you control it."

"Okay, please teach me." I said.

"It's very simple, just clear your mind and think of the present, nothing else." He said. "You overthink things which is why you unconsciously activate Clairvoyance. You worry too much, you're sacred that the people around will get hurt."

"I suppose you're right." I answered.

"Believe in your comrades, in the people by your side and you'll be fine." He said and I thanked him. "Don't worry about it. It's only natural. I'm the one who is closest to you in terms of values after all."

"What do you mean by that?" I asked and he stopped me.

"Let's save that for next time. What you should worry about is your power which is getting out of hand." He said. "Each of us will take turns training you in your dream so be prepared. The Fourth and Sixth are very strict."

"Okay then." I answered and he patted my head and things started to go blurry.

"Oh, times up. One more thing, the...." I couldn't hear what he was saying anymore and I eventually closed my eyes.

When I open them again I'm in an inn with the rain pouring outside. That's right, we arrived in Fantasy Forest yesterday and then a storm started so we took shelter here in the inn.

"You okay?" Zhen poked me.

"I'm fine." I answered with a smile and suddenly my stomach growls. "But I could do a meal."

"Then come with me." He smiled and I got up from the bed.

I go with Zhen as we head down stairs to the dining area to have dinner. There were a few other people in the room but I just minded my own business. Will waved me over to a large table and I sat down.

"It seems like the rain is insistent on keeping us here." Reinhardt said.

"I suppose so." I answered and looked at the menu. "Hmmm... I think I'll have a salad, pasta and a strawberry cake please."

"Understood please wait a moment." The male waiter said.

He left the table and I took out a map from my shadow. If we go by foot we'll arrive at Camellia Castle before sundown tomorrow. But... the question is, will the rain stop by then?

"Thank you for waiting, here is your order." A young man said as he placed our orders on the table. He had bright green hair and emerald eyes with white skin. There's something about him that feels like I've met him before. "Please enjoy."

"Well, let's eat." Theo said and we began eating.

As we began eating I ealized that the young man was staring at me and I'm certain I've met him before but I can't remember where. When we return to our room, Will is the one who asks me.

"That green haired guy from earlier, Arata, do you know him?" He asked.

"I don't know. But I keep getting the feeling that I do know him." I told him.

"So you did forget." The young man said as he emerged from the staircase. "I'm Danny, the Priest of Yggdrasil, the Guardian of the Fantasy Forest."

"Danny... Ah!" I exclaimed when I remembered who he was. "Danielle!"

"Tch. I knew you'd remember me that way." He said but smiled. "Yo, it's been a while, Le Fleur."

"How have you been, how's Yggdrasil?" I asked.

"Between you and me, the reason I came here was to ask for some help." He said.

"Come in." Theo nodded to the room. "You never know who's listening."

We go inside and Alexis erects a barrier around the room and Danny tells us why he needs help.

"It all started a month ago, Lady Yggdrasil was happily playing in her Garden when she suddenly fell sick." He said. "We immediately gave her medicine but it didn't work. A week later we learned why Lady Yggdrasil had fallen ill. The Dragon, Nidhogg had began chewing the roots of the Ancient Tree."

"Ancient Tree?" Angie asked.

"It's Yggdrasil's true body. You've heard the legend of Yggdrasil and Nidhogg right?" I asked the others and they nodded.

"Yggdrasil is said to be the tree the connects the realms in Norse Mythology correct?" Liam said. "Nidhogg hopes to end the world by chewing Yggdrasil's roots."

"Precisely. Yggdrasil is the tree that supports all life in the realms and serves as a seal to the prevent the Lost Beasts from returning." I told them. "If Yggdrasil falls, many of the beasts that were sealed away will return to this world. We must stop Nidhogg, immediately."

"Everyone get ready, we'll leave for Yggdrasil right now!" Will said and everyone got ready.

We gathered at the entrance and I handed everyone black coats that should prevent us from being seen and should keep us dry. We all depart for the Ancient Tree, Yggdrasil under the cover of darkness.
