Chapter 3, Vision

One afternoon, as the eight of us were enjoying some tea we heard the alarm go off. It means that there are Chimeras approaching the school. The school proactively draws all the Chimeras to our area to prevent damage to the surrounding town.

The seven of them have to go and fight so I pray for their safety. The give me reassuring pats and leave. I feel worried so I join the non-powered members who help with the medic tent and evacuation jobs.

Most of the people have been evacuated so we're able to set up the medical tent quickly. I help with the people who have been injured while evacuating. There are some who just have basic wounds like scrapes, cuts and bruises while there those with large deep wounds, broken limbs and more.

While the battle intensifies, the number of injured fighters increase and the number of civilians decrease. They're fighting a Taurus and Cancer so it's probably difficult. There are thirteen Chimeras in all.

Aries, the shielded one. Taurus, the one that rages on. Gemini, the one who binds. Cancer, the one who pierces. Leo, the one that devours fear. Virgo, the maiden who sings lamentation to the moon. Libra, the one that soars. Scorpio, the one that burrows deep. Sagittarius, the one who travels endlessly. Capricorn, the one who distorts. Aquarius, the one who spreads far. Pisces, the one whose scales shine and Ophiuchus, the one cloaked in the mist. Each has different abilities and ways of arriving as well as battle strategies. There are numerous ways of fighting them but thankfully there's only one Taurus and one Cancer today.

Just as I'm treating a wounded fighter a large boom bursts throughout the air and I immediately know the battles won. William has activated Grand Cannon. The gong rings and we know it's safe to come out.

Each of us are given tasks, like treating the wounded or helping the search for survivors. I help with treating the wounded and I see that Zhen is helping treat the wounded. I immediately search for the others and I see Andrew carrying my beaten up brother on his back. Their both wounded but nothing major. Reinhardt is propped up by Alistar and Alexis and I see the large wound on his side. I run for him immediately.

"How did he get so beaten up?!" I asked as I laid him down on a clean clothe.

"He took the full blunt of the attack of a Taurus for me." Liam said as he held his right side. I raise my eyebrow. "I got hit by the Cancer while trying to help out this little girl."

I turned to the little girl by his side. She must be around seven with black hair and white skin in a cute yellow dress.

"Are you hurt?" I asked her and she shook her head. "Liam, lie down. I'll help you after I'm done with Reinhardt."

"O-okay." He said and sat down.

I look at Reinhardt and see that aside from the large wound he doesn't have any other injuries. This makes things easy for me since he old has one wound. I clean the wound and see how much damage Taurus left. It's not deep but it is big and Reinhardt has lost a lot of blood. I treat the wound and stitch it up before I wrap it up in clean white clothe. He should be fine now.

I turn to Liam and check the damage. There's nothing but a few broken bones. His ribs and internal organs seem fine. Aside from the broken bones on his arm he'll be fine. He must've used his arm to block it the attack. I'm about to check the broken limb when Zhen's hand touches it and a light glows. He healed it?

"Thanks." Liam said.

"Don't worry about it." Zhen said and hugged me. "Now I need to recharge."

"Get off him!" William said and tried to pull Zhen off me but he was like a sticky rice cake. He wouldn't come off.

"It's fine." I said and patted Zhen's head. It's like having a dog. I can almost see the ears and tail.

I waved them goodbye and was about to go back to the school grounds when someone suddenly embraced me and then I saw the light post fall on us but I didn't feel any pain.

"You okay?" I looked up to see a young man, same age, with silver hair and white skin with silver eyes.

"Y-yes. Thank you." I answered.

"No need to worry about it." He said and I saw the bruise on his arm and immediately took a look at it. "My name is Ethan, I'm the Brave of Endurance. This'll be gone in a bit."

"Even so." I said and pinned his arms down between mine. "The bruise doesn't seem to be severe so it'll be fine. The bones seem fine too."

"How can you tell?! Are you alright Ethan?" A girl pushed me aside and took Ethan's hands.

"I'll be fine." He reassured her but not before he takes his arms away from her grasp and helps me up. "You weren't hurt right?"

"Yes. I'm fine." I answered.

I walked with Ethan back to the medic tent where the gang was already there. Eating while preparing for further orders. I sat down beside them and it seems Ethan is acquainted with them. As we eat, I feel many eyes staring at me again. But as I was finishing my bread my head throbbed and for a moment the world turned dark and what I saw was a giant Taurus. It was charging right for William and the next thing I saw was William dying. Then, I heard Alistar calling my name and I snap back into consciousness.

"You okay?" Alexis asked and I nodded my head.

Just as we were about to head back, the alarm went off again and then hundred yards or so from where we were a Taurus appeared.

"I'll avert its attention." William said but I stopped him. "Arata?"

"William, I have a bad feeling about you going off on your own." I said my voice trembling.

"What are you so worried about. I'll be fine." He said but my grip on his arm only tightened and he saw the fear on my face and he stopped and hugged me. "Okay then. I won't go, but you need to get to somewhere safe."

"Alright then." I answered.

I had just ran a distance when I saw the Taurus raging towards them and I felt something sweep over me. Fear. It's been a while since I last felt it but something is wrong. I know it. Something very, very wrong is sbout to happen and I don't want to know what it is.
