[A/N: - Guys, most of your comments are shadow banned and I can't reply, so please avoid using words like (hell - shit – fuck – damn – harem(u can capitalize the H and then ok)) Webnovel yeets the whole fucking comment, so you can use fancy letters like these (â ô Î ê) instead to avoid the shadow ban since capitalizing the first letter doesn't work anymore except for the word "Harem".]

____________

After sealing the deal with Lin Kun, Jin teleported back to his mansion in a good mood from the satisfaction he felt from changing the fate of the poor dude as he walked towards the room where Ruoxi was staying in.

Standing in front of the door, Jin knocked on the door and waited from the reply from inside without using his senses cause yeah, manners and shit. And so, he called for Ruoxi.

"Ruoxi, you're awake?"

"Wait a second!"

After hearing her say this, he waited for less than 4 seconds till he heard the hurried footsteps towards the door. An exceptional feat considering the fact that the room has a too damn well sound isolation enchantment… Ignoring the bullshit anime logic that for no apparent reason applied to the world of a modern Chinese novel, he waited for the door to open.

'Did bringing anime characters into this world influence its logic a bit? Well, it's kinda okay and amusing somehow…'

While yeeting the random thoughts out of his head, he looked at the figure that appeared in front of him after opening the door.

Ruoxi was wrapped in a white silk pajama with blue rabbits over it and wearing a cute pair of cat-style cotton slippers. Coupled with her beautiful appearance, she looked breathtakingly adorable, and the contrast between her normal cold exterior with strangers to the current ball of fluff is a huge gap moe!

After the Simp Primordial had his internal musing, he looked at the now blushing Ruoxi and spoke with a small smirk.

"You won't invite me inside?"

"Ah no, please come inside." (Ruoxi)

'Oh, you bet your sweet ass I will…' (Jin)

"Well then, excuse me." (Jin)

Not paying attention to any of his 'gentlemanly thoughts', Jin entered the room and was frozen from 'shock'. In front of him on the 70' screen, there was a Korean drama playing while a box of glutinous rice balls was on the bed next to half-eaten bowl of popcorn.

Jin's brain short-circuited for a split second from the scene in front of him.

'Wasn't Ruoxi a sucker for familial bonds?! What the hell is this?! Didn't she just get some mental damage from how her 'father' treated her and traumatized by actually seeing her father getting BBQ-ed alive in front of her?! Not to mention the slaughter fest that I did in front of her while burning her whole villa to the ground!'

Looking back at the now fidgeting blushing mess behind him named Ruoxi, Jin swallowed all the retorts he wanted to say, as he was overwhelmed by the urge to hug her and fall asleep right here and then, but he held himself back as he in a sense came here for 'business'.

Coughing to ease the awkwardness, Ruoxi who wanted to bury herself from embarrassment went towards the bed as she cleaned the 'crime scene' while internally cursing at her impulsiveness in quickly opening the door without actually cleaning.

'Who told him to have such a convenient house!'

Ruoxi who was presented with a menu to choose from if she wants to have a meal of snacks was delighted to see that she could have instant glutinous balls pop right into her room in less than 10 seconds, not to mention that the taste is superior to all the ones that she tasted before!

She bashfully sat on the bed under the 'judging' gazes of Jin who was still near the now closed door as she ushered him towards the other side of the bed to have a seat.

Shaking his head internally, Jin walked towards the bed and sat there in front of Ruoxi as their eyes met. Seeing that the mood will turn pink instead of what he came here to do first, he started speaking.

"So, I guess you want to know about what happened, right?"

Ruoxi hearing his question sobered up as she looked at him with a serious expression and nodded in affirmation.

"Well, harden your resolve and check this folder first."

"For some strange reason, I am unusually calm and collected about what is happening around me right now, so I would be thankful if you tell me all the unpleasant things that I would never want to hear right now… Although I think you are doing something to make my head clear, let's talk about that later."

Seeing her resolver herself like this, out of nowhere, Jin then produced a folder in his hand as he passed it to Ruoxi who was looking curiously at it.

After flipping the folder for a while, Ruoxi took out a stack of paper and frowned. Getting confused, she looked at Jin and asked.

"Medical report?"

"…take a look at it, especially the second page and you will understand."

Ruoxi was getting a bad and ominous feeling as she gazed at the medical report in her hand. She then remembered Jin's words earlier telling her to harden her resolve. Taking a deep breath, she then started checking the report in her hand.

Seeing that the name of the patient is "Lin Kun", Ruoxi took a breath of cold air as her ominous feeling intensified.

She then started reading, and the more she did, the more color drained from her face as she went sickly pale by the time that she finished reading the second page.

'The patient was born without seminal vesicles.'

Reading this line, Ruoxi felt that her world was suddenly beginning to collapse. Normally with Gamer's Mind, she would've instantly recovered, but right now, Jin toned down the effect of the skill. He didn't want Ruoxi to be too dependent on the skill's power in this exact moment, and also the fact that this is a moment where she needs to sort out her emotions by herself, not with the help of some skill.

He gave it to her before in full power so he can avoid the drama that will happen with the killing, but now since this is her family matter, he thinks that he has no right to interfere heavily like before. He only enhanced her mind so she can process things fast enough and not collapse or faint during this period of time.

Slowly, tears started pouring out of Ruoxi's eyes as she looked at the report in her hands that was getting impacted by her falling crystal tears.

After a couple of minutes of Ruoxi silently crying, she regained her bearings and looked at Jin.

"…where did you get that report?"

Jin was silent for a moment, then sighed and answered her.

"After I left with Lin Kun, we had a chat then one thing led to another, and I sneaked into the hospital he was regularly checking up on his health in and 'borrowed' the reports. By the way, all the other copies whether digital or physical have been destroyed. The one you are holding is the original and the only remaining one."

"Haha… fate sure loves to play cruel jokes on me, right?"

Ruoxi chuckled without any trace of happiness in her voice as she spoke while looking directly into his gaze.

"I get it now. It all makes sense! Why would he treat someone that is not his flesh and blood as his daughter? No wonder… that man had hated me since I was young. He had never been willing to hug me or treat me well. He had always found Mom so unpleasant, and looked for women outside while enjoying alcohol…

No wonder he would never accept me as his daughter no matter what I did for him, how I treated him… No wonder he didn't mind beating me so mercilessly and scold me… He didn't even mind kidnapping and killing me…

He definitely had a reason to hate me. I had indeed snatched Yu Lei away which was supposed to belong to him. I even tortured him by staying in his vision for more than ten years after that… I should consider it a blessing that he had not tried to choke me to death when I was young…"

Ruoxi was in tears as she spoke as her head hung low, but then with resolution in her eyes, she looked into Jin's eyes again as she spoke.

"Jin, if you know what happened, I really want to know everything, please!"

Jin felt like there was a something stuck in his throat, so he swallowed his saliva, took a deep breath, then started speaking.

"Well, if you really want to know, then it will be a long tale and it will involve your mother, grandmother, grandfather, father, and your biological father."

Ruoxi's body trembled the moment she heard 'biological father', but she still remained unmoving and unwavering as she spoke with resolution.

"I still want to know."

"Well, if you say so."

And with another sigh, Jin started speaking.

"It all started about forty-three years ago when your grandfather, Lin Zhiguo, was on a mission in France. Lin Zhiguo was in a relationship with an astounding girl of a prestigious sect, her name was Yun Miao. She had both background and beauty, and so the Lin family encouraged their relationship. After a while, they went through multiple life and death situations that made their relationship advance quite rapidly and steadily.

However, this all changed when Lin Zhiguo was ambushed during a mission in France. He was seriously hurt and hid in the apartment of a female student studying abroad. That female student was from a completely different world compared to Yun Miao, but there was one common trait that they shared, they were both extremely pretty.

The female student sheltered Lin Zhiguo for a whole month, and Lin Zhiguo could no longer forget her. He even decided that when he returned home, he would tell the elders in his family that he wanted to marry this female student instead of Yun Miao.

However, things never went the way he wanted them to. That female student's family was just an ordinary merchant family, and there were rebels in her grandfather's generation.

For the Lin Family who was one of the founding families of the country and considered their blood to be noble, a woman like that simply wouldn't be considered as their daughter-in-law at all.

With the attraction of becoming the heir of the Lin Family and being chosen to be the leader of the Yellow Flame Iron Brigade, one of the organizations that deals with the supernatural stuff inside China and other duties, rather than choosing that woman and being kicked out of the Lin Family, Lin Zhiguo chose to marry Yun Miao instead so he could secure a better future for himself.

In the end, Lin Zhiguo married Yun Miao, but his heart remained with that female exchange student. In fact, he even went to Zhong Hai many times after getting married to date her.

That female student was precisely your grandmother.

However, Lin Zhiguo never told your grandmother that he was married and continued their relationship like that, until the day your grandmother got pregnant. Lin Zhiguo had no choice but to reveal that he was already married. It was also at that time that Yun Miao managed to gain information from complicated sources as to why Lin Zhiguo was no longer as affectionate to her as before.

They couldn't be together even when polygamy is legal and commonly practiced since the rules of your Lin family got a family rule that states that anyone that marries in the Lin family can only have one partner for the rest of their lives even if their partner is dead or divorced. So, with unrelenting effort, Yun Miao who still loved Lin Zhiguo tried many ways to regain back the lost affection of her husband.

As time passed, Yun Miao realized that her attempts to pull Lin Zhiguo's heart back to her was getting more and more unrealistic. Lin Zhiguo had been secretly protecting that woman's family businesses and helping them grow, and also stopped the old fogeys in the Lin Family from dealing with them. During the same time, their hearts drifted further and further apart.

However, during their marriage, they still had a child together. And twenty years later, their son who had been married for a year gave them a grandchild, that was your 'cousin', Lin Hui. She was born 10 days after you were born, so during this time Lin Zhiguo was ecstatic that he had two granddaughters as he never knew that his son was sterile."

Ruoxi was feeling heavy hearted the more she listened to this. She has always hated her grandfather, so she was not really interested in knowing about him, but the more she listened, the more she realized that her background was more complicated than she thought. Not to mention the current surprise that she suddenly had a younger cousin.

Jin, seeing that she was still following him, continued the talk.

"In less than three months after your cousin was born, Lin Zhiguo sent his son and daughter-in-law who were both in the Dragon Group as his subordinates to Kashmir for an assassination mission. Lin Zhiguo was famous for being impartial, so the Lin Family members were always assigned to the front lines.

But it was this mission that made this young couple from the Lin Family never return again.

After this, Yun Miao was completely heartbroken and furious over the deaths of her children. The years of resentment she built up with Lin Zhiguo erupted due to the death of her son and daughter-in-law.

Lin Zhiguo knew that it was he who was in the wrong, so he could only accept the blame quietly.

Dispirited, Yun Miao resolutely brought her granddaughter, Lin Hui, back to the Shushan mountain and gave her a Taoist monastic name of Hui Lin. Henceforth, their relationship in public was always as master and disciple.

In the past twenty-three years, Lin Zhiguo occasionally went to the mountain to see them. Hui Lin knew that this man was her grandfather, while Yun Miao never met him again, and went into closed door cultivation every single time he came to stop by."

"This was the side of Lin Zhiguo of the story, now to your mother's family, biological father, and grandmother's side of the story.

Decades ago, the Xue clan was just like every other family. Nothing stood out about them amongst the others in Beijing. But their eldest son became a close affiliate to Marshal Yang Ye of the Yang clan. And for his performances in defending against the Japanese and American armies, he was highly valued among his ranks. As a result, he gained the unyielding support by the Yang clan and had gradually improved in reputation and fame over time.

Nonetheless, the Xue clan ultimately chose to halt any progress within the military sector, which aligned with Marshal Yang Ye's belief that the saturation of his close allies would attract unwanted attention and scrutiny towards the Yang clan.

Henceforth, the Xue clan began developing businesses in regions outside Beijing while keeping a low profile. Yu Lei International, which was located in Zhong Hai, was without a doubt their biggest success.

And your grandmother, who had now returned from studying abroad, with her intellectual prowess and the business relationships between her clan and Yu Lei International, soon started working for the company.

With her impressive business mentality, she quickly rose up the ranks and soon became the CEO's right hand. There she became close with the previous CEO, Xue Zijing's mother, your biological grandmother from your mother's side.

The outreach and development of the Xue clan initially progressed smoothly as planned, until the untimely death of Marshal Yang Ye when everything went south. His successor as the clan master was Yang Gongming, and as a result of his strive for political power, many families and clans that were dependent on the Yang clan lived a tough life.

It was around this time, however, that your mother, Xue Zijing, the eldest daughter of the Xue clan, and the playboy, Ning Guangyao, from the Ning clan, fell madly in love and decided to elope together once and for all.

However, since the Xue clan held no influence in Beijing , along with their exclusion from military politics, it did not take long before the Ning clan discovered this 'scandal'.

The Ning clan wanted Ning Guangyao to marry a noble lady, and no less of the members from the four dominant clans, only the ones from the upper class. They were namely the Lin's, Luo's, Zeng's, and Yang's. These were the only clans who were worthy of a bond with their clan. Thus, a woman named Luo Cushman from the Luo clan, who was Ning Guangyao's schoolmate became the perfect candidate for his partner.

Luo Cuishan was raised with elegance and grace, along with her sensibility in the realm of politics. This would rapidly improve Ning Guangyao's progress through the ranks. The Ning clan was not willing to let go of such an opportunity.

And fortunately for them, Luo Cuishan was willing to marry Ning Guangyao for all he was worth. Luo Cuishan was young and confident, and in her eyes, she believed that any relationship would water down through time.

Despite his resistance, the trials and pressure put on Ning Guangyao's already-heavy back soon made him succumb to the decision.

A choice between an ordinary woman and the candidacy of being among the leaders of China, being affiliated with the most nobles of families, being surrounded by fame and fortune aplenty. It was such a clear decision it would be damned if Ning Guangyao would choose the prior, in which his relationship unsurprisingly stood in the way.

Basically, the same thing that happened with your grandmother and Lin Zhiguo but with different context.

And when the day came for the wedding arrangement to be announced to the masses, the Xue clan's presence in Beijing naturally stood out like a sore thumb.

There was no doubt that every single clan in Beijing was aware that Ning Guangyao's true love was for the Xue clan's daughter. If the scandal continued to circulate, it would devastate his bright future. Furthermore, the Luo clan members were wary that their daughter would have to deal with the aftermath of her husband's ill-fated relationship, knowing that if Ning Guangyao was to meet Xue Zijing in secret, they will be unable to do anything to him.

So, it was obvious that only when the Xue clan left Beijing, or even China would it be most appropriate for the relationship between the Ning and Luo to bloom.

The Xue clan had only one allegiance to back them up, which was the failing Yang clan. But finding themselves in a dire situation, it went without saying that they had received no support. Under such strenuous circumstances, they were unwillingly forced out of Beijing almost immediately. To add salt to the wound, the Luo clan's elders made sure all of the Xue clan's resources were detained within the country in a faithful attempt to diminish them once and for all.

But despite all that, Xue Zijing was headstrong about her decision to stay in the country. She would rather have died than leave the country and her love behind.

And under such unjustifiable circumstances, Lin Zhiguo, with an attempt to push his lover to higher ranks, discussed several inequitable terms with the Xue clan which resulted in them leaving the last of their wealth, Yu Lei International, into the hands of your grandmother.

Your grandmother already had close ties with the Xue clan, so much so that external sources presumed that they were of the same extended family. In addition to her outstanding capabilities, the company managed to progress smoothly for many years to come.

However, one of the crucial conditions for Xue clan to hand over the rights of Yu Lei was to ensure that their eldest daughter would live in China safe and sound, one that was insisted upon by the former head of the Xue clan.

Despite the fact that they were one extended family, the huge majority of the Xue clan despised Xue Zijing for her stubborn and selfish antics. It resulted in them shunning her from all family relations, to which any sane person would agree, as she doomed her entire clan because of her willfulness. Despite all that, however, the former master of the family, your biological grandfather, insisted on defending his own daughter till the end.

This was why your grandmother and Lin Zhiguo decided to send Xue Zijing off to marry the bastard son of Lin Zhiguo, Lin Kun. This act would remove her from all the drama in Beijing and ensure her safety, providing her a chance for a decent living in Zhong Hai for a while longer."

Ruoxi took a deep breath as she needed a little bit of time to process all that was said. However, she didn't speak and waited till Jin continued.

"Back then, being the lover of Lin Zhiguo, your grandmother gave birth to Lin Kun. To protect herself and her son, Lin Kun, from being oppressed by the wife of Lin Zhiguo, Yun Miao, she spent most of her time and effort into growing Yu Lei International.

Of course, Lin Zhiguo had also assisted them wherever possible. He wouldn't leave his son, Lin Kun, to fend for himself, even if the elders of the clan disagreed with that decision of his.

However, your grandmother concealed the fact that Lin Kun had a disability. He was born without seminal vesicles. Although this had no effect on the usual relationship between a married couple, it only meant that having a child was out of question.

Your grandmother wasn't foolish. She knew that if she wanted her own son to live safely, peacefully, and have the food and shelter he needed for the rest of his life, she certainly couldn't allow Yu Lei to collapse. She couldn't let Lin Zhiguo know that he had a 'crippled' son.

All of the Major and wealthy clans are afraid of having no descendants after all.

The Lin clan had very few children, so Lin Zhiguo highly valued this son of his, even though he was given birth to by an unacknowledged lover. If he knew that Lin Kun was a 'chicken which couldn't lay eggs', he would give Lin Kun much less care than he already did.

Having been betrayed by Lin Zhiguo, your grandmother made the decision to try syphoning as much as she can from him to pave the future of her child by taking advantage of the influence of the Lin clan to stabilize and develop Yu Lei International.

Due to your grandmother's resolute personality, she had kept her heart cold, and treated Lin Zhiguo good on some occasions and bad in others, leaving him hanging, causing him to feel sympathy for her and her son. Hence, your grandmother managed to expand Yu Lei and in turn, earn Yu Lei it's great name. Notwithstanding the fact that she wasn't kicked out by Yun Miao who had recently married Lin Zhiguo at that time.

As time passed and Lin Kun slowly grew up, he soon noticed the difference between him and other men. He knew that he wasn't considered a 'true man'. However, his mother ordered him strictly to keep it a secret.

In fact, even if his mother hadn't ordered him to do so, Lin Kun wasn't foolish enough to publicly announce his infertility.

Being obsessed with women, it was incredibly disgraceful that he couldn't have his own child. There was no way he was going to allow anyone to know about his condition.

Thus, his intention coincidentally fit your grandmother's objective. When Lin Kun was nearing the age of getting married, your grandmother managed to get Xue Zijing from Beijing to Zhong Hai to become her daughter-in-law. At that time, Xue Zijing was alone in the country after the entire Xue clan left…

Back then, your mother used to live a miserable life. She got boycotted by numerous people in Beijing. When your grandmother offered her help, she agreed to marry Lin Kun.

It was during that time that Wang Ma started working for your grandmother.

Until one day, your mom got pregnant."

Hearing the last line, Ruoxi took a breath of cold air as s he stayed silent and listened.

"The pregnancy of the madam from the Lin clan was something worth celebrating to a lot of people. Although Lin Kun was wild, once the Lin clan had a descendent, to the employees of Yu Lei International and a lot of other people, it meant that Yu Lei International had an inheritor, a successor to continue their legacy.

But only the people inside the house knew what it meant. It meant that, your mother, Xue Zijing, cuckolded Lin Kun and had an affair with another man."

Ruoxi took another breath of cold air as she controlled her expression to the maximum of her efforts, however her hands getting balled into fists until her nails dug into her skin was a dead giveaway to her current mental condition.

Seeing her current state, Jin came closer and drew her into a tight hug as she was momentarily taken back by the hug, but she returned it back as she hugged him tighter.

"Do you want me to stop?"

Asked Jin softly in her ear as she stayed silent for a second.

"….no. Please continue, I want to know the full story. …also, can we please stay like this for a while?"

Hearing the trembling in her tone, Jin hugged her frail body tighter as he internally sighed at the bullshit background that Ruoxi has. Looking at her current state in his arms, he was really entertaining the thought of finding the genius who wrote that book and skinning him alive.

Patting her head as he ran his fingers through her silky hair, Jin continued speaking.

"Well, your mom was a strange woman, and no offense, with a face thicker than the Great Wall of China… She appeared to be indifferent about everything. Even when she bore someone else's child, she still lived at home and went about her daily routine. She would do some reading, flower some plants, drink some tea, and sit by the balcony to enjoy the sunlight, as if everything was normal.

Your grandmother back then was in a foul mode for a while, but then she had a long talk with your mother, and after that, she didn't seem to mind that your mom had someone else's child inside her anymore. She even warned Lin Kun to stay away from your mother and her child in front of Wang Ma… Evidently, she wanted to protect you and your mom for whatever reason.

Soon after that, your mom gave birth to you as your grandmother was really happy when she held you in her arms and gave you your name.

However, Lin Kun seldom came to his home after that. He knew that you were not his child, but his mother had asked him to not do anything reckless. All he could do at that time was hide outside which had made him suffer in his heart. Your grandmother was actually trying to protect Lin Kun, but their mother-and-son relationship soon became terrible as it quickly deteriorated.

Knowing that he was a half 'eunuch' since young, while he was born in a major clan, being surrounded by women, all he could do at the end of the day was live life as an actor.

Thus, Lin Kun had kept the secret in his heart all this time, afraid that others would find out one day. Anyone, even those with the strongest willpower, would face insanity from having to keep such a secret.

After that, his legal wife even started bearing someone else's child, while his mom insisted on protecting the woman and the child inside her. He was not even given a reason. Lin Kun was just asked to keep his mouth shut. Every last bit of his pride had been completely covered by garbage and dirt as they were grinded into nothingness. He had no dignity left, it was taken from him, stolen, reduced to nothing.

Lin Kun found it even more absurd that his mother passed Yu Lei International to a young girl whom she had no relations with…

The series of negative events was more than enough to make Lin Kun behave the way he had. He wasn't humane anymore. He was acting in an irrational state of mind.

When you were still really young, your grandmother had started raising you as an inheritor and the successor of Yu Lei. Your grandmother treated you better than how a lot of other people treated their own grandchildren, even though you weren't her biological granddaughter. She had hoped that one day, you would come to love your family and accept a father like Lin Kun.

Your grandmother knew that her son was unreliable, so she had searched everywhere and managed to find your best friend, Mo Qianni. At that time, she was a girl from the Sichuan Province with no background or family and was treated poorly. Your grandmother saw her potential and supported her education. She then allowed her to join the company before you even had set foot into that place, so that she could be a competent assistant for you after you inherited the position of the CEO… Everything had been planned by your grandmother from the start.

Your grandmother even used her relationship with Lin Zhiguo to let you get close to the Cai clan. All this was done in hopes that one day it may protect you, her son, and Yu Lei.

The reason your grandmother hoped for you to be born and even pushed for you to become CEO of Yu Lei, is not just because she could confuse Lin Zhiguo into giving you guys more care as you were his granddaughter. The other reason is that your biological father was more competent to take care of Yu Lei International and protect you and Lin Kun altogether."

Hearing him, Ruoxi shivered in his arms as she asked with a trembling tone as she bit her lips in frustration.

"You are saying that my grandmother had been using me… to protect her own son…"

"Well, not really wrong, and not right either. She did indeed use you at the beginning when she knew about your biological father's identity, but that changed later. You have lived with your grandmother for about twenty years, so I am pretty sure you can distinguish if her love towards you was real or fake."

Ruoxi closed her eyes for a bit, reminiscing about her memories with her strict yet kind grandmother. Soon enough, a genuine but a sad smile appeared on her face.

___[Info dump end]___

"She did it for the greater good of both me and her son, but if not for your help, we would have been both ruined for life."

A small genuine(crazed) smile appeared on the lips of Ruoxi as she looked at Jin from below his head.

"Jin… my real father…"

"Your real biological father is Ning Guangyao, the current Prime Minister of China, and the current head of the Ning clan of Beijing."

Ruoxi was stunned for a bit and then shakily asked.

"And the reason he never bothered to contact me?"

"Because he is a self-centered asshole that puts his position and public image as the top priority without regards to his family ties. He refuses to acknowledge your existence as his daughter because he fears that it will ruin his bright career by being a stain on him. Speaking of that asshole of a father, you should be getting a call from him in about 10 seconds. I sent him an anonymous message that you got your hand on Lin Kun's medical report from one his 'subordinates' that wanted to subjugate him. Wait and see what your glorious father says."

Ruoxi's eyes snapped open as she scrambled quickly to get her phone.

A few seconds later, the phone rang with a private number on screen. When Ruoxi received the phone, she almost dropped it on the bed. Her eyes obviously revealed complexity and panic. Even though she heard it from Jin, she still had that faint unrealistic hope that he will be wrong, just this one time…

After a relatively long time, Lin Ruoxi finally answered the phone as she tried her best to speak calmly.

"Hello, Lin Ruoxi speaking."

Ning Guangyao didn't get angry even though he was kept waiting. Instead, he spoke warmly and gently.

"I'm Ning Guangyao, the Prime Minister. I hope Boss Lin doesn't mind this sudden phone call since it's pretty late at night right now in Zhong Hai."

It was rare for the premier to speak in such a manner. Even the presidents of other countries may not be privy to such warm treatment.

"Um."

Ruoxi answered curtly not knowing what to say.

Ning Guangyao seemed like he didn't find the situation awkward. He smiled on the other side of the phone as he spoke.

"So, I heard that one of my subordinates had gone over the line recently. I was informed about his actions. I promise to Boss Lin that I'll deal with this matter seriously. I certainly won't cause trouble to Boss Lin and your company."

"Deal with it?"

Bitterness surfaced at the corners of Ruoxi's lips.

"How?"

Ning Guangyao sounded surprised that Ruoxi was this calm. Solemnly, he spoke.

"The medical record that Boss Lin has seen is fake. Boss Lin does not need to worry about such a thing. I will make sure that my subordinates don't harass Boss Lin in the future."

'It's fake? It's fake?! It's fake?!?!'

'He said everything is fake?!'

Ruoxi had the urge to laugh. She almost lost control on her behavior.

"Since Premier Ning says it's fake, it must be a fake then. If there's nothing else, I'll end the call now."

As soon as she finished speaking, without giving Ning Guangyao a chance to reply, she immediately ended the call as the phone dropped from her hand.

Ruoxi's 'father', Lin Kun turned out to be fake. Her effort and suffering in the past were all in vain. Her grandmother whom she had loved the most, was manipulating her. She had worked tirelessly just to avoid disappointing her grandmother, but now the whole situation seemed so comical. Furthermore, she was given birth by her mother through cheating in the marriage…

When everything felt so burdensome, her biological father… suddenly told her that everything was fake!

He didn't plan on acknowledging his own daughter!

She silently went back and wrapped herself around Jin without saying a single word as he silently patted her back and pretended not to notice how she was shivering.

This was pretty much the last living kin of Ruoxi, and he just refused to acknowledge her as his daughter and even told her that the truth about her current 'father' is fake so she can still live in a lie. That shit must have hit her hard.

'Fucking hell! There is too much fucking drama here, I am dying, and it should be impossible!'

'Well, I should be thankful that Ruoxi's family problem has been dealt with accordingly in one fell swoop. At least this is a one-time event...'

Seeing that she had finally processed all that crap about her family, Jin who was internally bitching about drama, decided to lend her a final helping hand as he activated her Gamer's Mind at full power, making her instantly relax and collect herself.

Feeling the sudden change in herself, Ruoxi titled her head upwards for a bit as she softly spoke.

"…thank you."

"Don't mention it."

Jin patted her head as she melted quietly in his hug.

After staying like this for a while, Ruoxi then unhook her arms that were wrapped around Jin as she distanced herself a bit and spoke.

"So… in a sense, I ran out of family members."

Ruoxi chuckled while looking away.

"Well, not entirely."

Jin dropped a bomb nonchalantly.

"What?!"

Ruoxi's eyes snapped open as she looked at him.

"Well, didn't I tell you that Lin Zhiguo had another granddaughter that was taken to the mountain by her grandmother after her parents died?"

Ruoxi who heard him looked at him with a gaze saying, 'What does this have anything to do with me?', but Jin chuckled a bit and continued.

"Well, that girl has always known about you and always wanted to meet you. She has always been looking up to you from the things that Lin Zhiguo mentioned to her about you, so she wanted to meet you as you are pretty much the remaining family that she has aside from her grandparents, who are not really a good example for parenting, not like yours were much better…"

Jin spoke normally but whispered the last part with a voice that only he could hear.

"Well, she has always been holed up in the mountain with her grandmother, being raised as a half-assed nun, she was raised without much contact with other people or the outside world in general, so she developed a quite curious and extremely innocent personality. She is like a sweet cinnamon roll that you will really like if you give her a chance. Well, you will probably get the chance to meet her soon enough."

Ruoxi listened silently and didn't comment. Then after a brief silence, she asked what was on her mind.

"Do you know what happened to the rest of the Xue family that went abroad?"

"Short answer, Dead. Long answer, they have been getting in 'unfortunate accidents' every now and then, so they are now gone. The last one of them called Xue Minghe died in prison 3 weeks ago."

Seeing Ruoxi's downcast look, Jin continued.

"I'm not finished yet! You still have a cousin, however this time it's a blood-related one!"

Ruoxi's ears perked the moment he said this.

"I met her when she was a kid. She was abandoned by her parents and sent to an orphanage where she was sold to some shady organization alongside other kids. With twists and turns, she became someone to me akin to a little sister of sorts and she married someone who is considered my little brother, and both of them are working as my subordinates. They will be coming here to Zhong Hai in less than a week, so I'll make sure you both meet.

At first, we never knew her background, and honestly none of us cared about it. But back then when I arrived at your university and saw you, I knew that something was wrong. Both of you looked so similar as if you were sisters that were separated after birth. So, driven by curiosity, I searched for clue about both of your backgrounds, and voila! It turns out that she was the daughter of your biological aunt, so that makes both of you legitimate cousins.

Well, she doesn't know about all this, and I was going to make meeting you as a surprise for her when she arrives to China, but I didn't expect shit to explode so quickly, so here we are."

Ruoxi was on an emotional roller-coaster along this narration. Apparently, she really has a cousin out there that will soon be coming to China. And also having a 'cousin' that is living in the mountains that for some reason looks up to her.

"Also, you have a biological brother from your father's side, but he is an extremely disgusting piece of shit, so I personally hope you will never meet." (Jin)

Ignoring the info about her newly discovered brother, Ruoxi took a deep breath that made her bountiful chest rise up and down, she then looked directly at Jin with a sweet(crazy) smile as she made up her mind.

'My family is dead, and he is now my family, that's it. Having other cousins or not is good, but he is now my family.'

"Well, I made up my mind. If you want me to meet them, then I will meet them. Jin, thank you for everything."

Ruoxi spoke with calmness as she revealed a really sweet smile that can put the radiant sun to shame.

"Well, I don't necessarily 'want' you to meet them. If you are not comfortable with it, then it's ok, there is no need to do so." (Jin)

"No, it's ok, I will meet them." (Ruoxi)

"Well, if that's what you want, then I won't say anything else."

Jin answered her with a small smile that made her heart skip a beat as a blush crept its way into her face.

"I forgot to say this, but I am thankful for whatever you did to me in the past couple of hours. Without what you did, I am sure that I would either be in a hospital bed right now unconscious with a fever, or at worst, having a mental breakdown."

Hearing her, Jin raised an eyebrow. He expected that Ruoxi would try to ask him about what he is, especially after the show he put in front of her, and the matter of her surprisingly enhanced mind. Having her just accepting it at face value without any comments made him feel that almost all of the previous flexing has been for naught.

'Oh, hell naw! I didn't do all that bullcrap and endure the ocean of drama just so she can start awakening as a yandere and ignoring all the 'cool' stuff I did by brushing them aside!'

'I know that yandere is justice, but flexing is eternal!'

Shaking his useless motto out of his head, Jin decided to poke the hornet nest himself since it seems like nothing will be coming out of it without him pushing.

"Ruoxi, don't you want to ask me about what happened? My abilities and so?"

Ruoxi was surprised by the question at first, but soon shook her head with a smile.

"Not really. Although I am indeed curious, but I won't ask. When you yourself feel like telling me, then I'll gladly hear. After all, as a husband and wife, we are not going anywhere."

Ruoxi said with a charming smile and a certain glint in her eyes, but her voice went inaudible in the last sentence…. For a normal human that is... Jin heard it crystal clear, but for the sake of his remaining brain cells, he used the ability that could be considered as the pillar of support of any harem protagonist. He ignored her muttering.

"Are you not afraid of me? You know, going out of control, or misuse of strength and hurting you in the process. Common things like this happens all the time."

Ruoxi who heard him was stunned at first before a small warm smile appeared on her face.

"No, I am not afraid. After all you are my hero, and you will not hurt me. And even in the far chance that you did, then I am ok with it."

Jin who heard her was momentarily stunned.

'This is not going according to the script; I want a refund!'

Contrarily to his inner monologue, Jin replied with a small chuckle as he spoke.

"Ahahah, you chose the wrong person to call a hero. I'm far away from what could be remotely close to being called a hero."

"Regardless of what you say, you are my hero. I believe that even Qianni thinks so as well. You may deny it all you want, but you are still a hero."

Ruoxi decisively dismissed his refusal while looking him into the eyes. However, she noticed that the pair of eyes were getting closer as Jin moved towards her slowly.

"I am fairly sure I can never play a hero."

Saying this, Jin drew closer as he did a kabedon with Ruoxi at the end of the bed. Seeing her flustered face, Jin decided to put the nail in the coffin and skip the remaining steps and drama, so he chose the corniest line he can think of at the moment as he spoke with a deep voice in her currently blood-red ear.

"After all, a hero will sacrifice you to save the world, however…"

Ruoxi's haggard breath haled.

"I sure as hell fit the villain that will sacrifice the whole world to save you."

Hearing this, Ruoxi's eyes were already letting their crystal tears out.

Any kind of potential resistance was deleted before they could even materialize. Without even the slightest bit of hesitation, Ruoxi's lips were already stolen.

A momentary surprise was drowned by overwhelming happiness and a moan of pleasure.

A couple of seconds later, their lips separated as Ruoxi's face blushed while panting. Her current image would have been the epitome of the word "erotic" if not for her fluffy pajama. The contrast however didn't make her current state any less enticing.

Jin looked at the 'treat' in front of him as he spoke with a lewd smirk.

"I'll be having my payment to all of the drama that you made me go through. Prepare to pay with your body, sweety."

Ruoxi's body trembled a bit from anticipation as her eyes suddenly had a momentary golden glow before it disappeared. Jin who noticed it suddenly remembered the healing enchantments of the mansion.

'Athena has recovered a bit, but it's ok since the plot accelerated, it actually makes it easier not to fuck it up more now. However, you can't be a voyeur like this and treated like nothing… Prepare for impact, bitch!'

'Linked sensation, Activate!'

With an evil smirk on his face, Jin activated one of the most popular spells that any half-assed incubus can use, however his was perfectly concealed and can't be traced or detected. Having linked Athena's senses with Ruoxi's, Jin drew closer as he snapped his fingers making their clothes disappeared.

'I never tried it on souls before, so let's see how you become a puddle of pleasured mess after I finish.'

Looking at the current appearance of a bashful Ruoxi who was trying to hide her important places from embarrassment, Jin gulped audibly as he drew closer and with a final gesture, he brought his two hands together as if praying as she spoke.

"Thanks for the meal!"

1) As some of you guys may have figured it out, I made Seventeen Ruoxi's cousin. In the original book, she was said to be an almost identical Lin Ruoxi, just a little bit inferior to her in the beauty department. Since it was like this, and Seventeen's background was not revealed(not that I know of it if it was), so I took liberty to make her the cousin.

2) By making the medical report disappear and killing off the remaining family members of Ruoxi's mother's family, I have just cleanly yeeted out one of the major arcs of the original book that revolved around a revenge plot from a certain woman and her accomplice being a member of the Xue clan that I mentioned him dying in prison. Not to mention that I also yeeted out the drawn out Ruoxi family background drama that kept going for about 900 chapters in the original.
