1 The Beginning Of It All

The male groans while rubbing his scalp. He stands with great difficulty before running his fingers through his long hair. Some locks glistened from sweat as he stuck his tongue out in disgust.

"Stupid boy- I'll kill you.." Muttering, the black-haired male grabs a neon band on his wrist before tying his hair up in a messy bun. A few strands fell, framing his face like a picture.

Bending down, he lifts a black sweatshirt and slides it on. Once his head pops through the hole, his fingers glide across the soft fabric, getting rid of wrinkles.

Done messing with his looks, the male's gaze lands on a mahogany door. It was slightly ajar and had odd markings carved into the wood. An eerie grin rises to his face, contrasting with his sharp features.

'That's where you went.'

```
A shriek falls from soft lips, "Listen! It was a joke! I swear-!" The man pounces on the other, knocking the breath out of him. His attempts to wiggle free fail as the younger male pins his body down, pressing his lips against his earlobe.
"Oh? You planned the joke, hm?" They freeze with wide eyes. His airy voice almost put them in a trance. Almost.
"N-No! Laya told me to do it! She said-" Immediately, the said girl appears out of nowhere. Her pink lips were put into a pout, while her blonde locks were in a cute ponytail. Her baby blue eyes shone with mischievousness.
"Wha- Yuri-chan! Why would you say that?" Her hands land on her chest as her face morphs into a sad expression, "I thought we had something!"
Startled by the girl's appearance, Yuri yelps and tries to scramble up, "I- I- Sorry! But it's the tr-" Laya stomps forward, her hand reaching down to grab Yuri before a moan catches her off guard. Her face twists into confusion before realization seeps in.
Oh.
"Whattheheck-" Pink glitter fills the room as words fell from her mouth. Yuri coughs from the sudden pink-colored dust clouds and groans, "Can you, um, get up now?" Looking down, the male on top frowns and squishes himself further into Yuri, "You owe me, dude. Do you know how hard it was to do that?" Yuri gives a pitiful smile before flipping the two of them over. He is now on top.
"Hugs? Money?" He jokingly asks, already knowing what he wants.
The younger of the two puffs out his cheeks and slaps Yuri's chest, "No..." His cheeks turn a pink color as Yuri mentally coos. "Hmm, maybe, a blanket? A nice comfy pillow? I'll add in some food too-"
Suddenly, the black-haired male jumps out of Yuri's hold and beams. His arms wiggled around in the air as imaginary sparkles formed around him, "Yeah! Yeah! Some ice cream too!" His voice came out in an oddly cute squeak.
He looked like a kid that was told they could eat whatever they wanted.
Yuri chuckles and stands. His hands pat himself, getting rid of imaginary dust. "Well, you earn it, I guess." The other jumps up and down from excitement. "But," Yuri pauses, watching the younger's face morph into confusion, "You'll have to help me again, Rune."
Rune sighs, his face going back to its stoic expression, "Fine."
Yuri smiles and turns around, his brownish hair swishing with his movements. "I'll be back!" And with that, he disappears into thin air, leaving the teenager alone.
Rune blinks, once, twice, three times.
"I'm bored."
```

Honey-colored eyes glance lazily around the room. It was nothing special, just three large glass windows that showed the sunset. Two giant bookcases on each side of the room towered over the sofa that lies in the middle. Many books are littered around, some open, some not- mainly spellbooks.

Rune plops onto the couch and takes out the neon pink hairband he got from Laya. The strands fall next to him elegantly.

He looked like he was posing for a photoshoot.

Moving to his side, he rubs his face tiredly. His morning was hectic. Laya was screeching at Yuri to clean up a dead rat, while Maddox was whistling an ugly tune when he was cooking. Their dog, Tiny, started barking at people that were outside. He's pretty sure he heard some screaming too, but he was already annoyed enough to not care who it was.

Rune sniffles once he smells something delicious.

Maddox.

Maddox is cooking. But why can he smell it? The kitchen is all the way downstairs.

Rune groans and covers his ears as Maddox busts through the door, stomping over to the male- his whistling getting louder.

"Hey, Rune!" The said male continues to cover his ears. Soon, he will get a headache from all this chaos.

"Go away." He mumbles, the cushions muffling his voice. Maddox looks down with a smile before plopping down onto the sofa. It groaned from the extra weight, showing how old it is.

"Aw, why? We're best buds!" Rune glances up with orange eyes before snapping them shut, "You're annoying." Maddox places a plate on the couch's arm and leans over Rune. His grin grew wider after seeing the boy's ocherous eyes.

"Really?" His throaty voice echoed throughout the quiet room while his heterochromia eyes bulged with excitement.

Rune glanced up again before flicking Maddox with his finger on the forehead, "Yes. Now shut up and go away." Maddox sat back with an odd expression on his face. His features were twisted and scrunched together.

He stays silent before handing Rune the plate and skipping out of the room, continuing his ugly song.

"Weirdo," Rune mumbles before devouring the food—

Blissfully unaware of the pretty eyes that follow his every move.
