13 Masters Tolerate Lazy Butlers

Yuuma was in a fevered state for more than two weeks, much longer than a regular fever. The physician said to keep an eye on it because she couldn't find a problem. When Yuuma finally felt the heat diminishing from his body he was so content he slept for two more days after.

Yuuma had just woken up and gotten dressed by himself with no butler around. His stomach made demon noises and he felt like it was going to eat itself. He remembered he got soup every now and then so he shouldn't be so hungry.

But he was starving, and he craved meat. A lot of meat. Yet his butler had mysteriously disappeared and didn't even know he was awake right now. Yuuma frowned but he was used to doing things himself, well to the best of his ability. So he left the room to go to the kitchen to ask them to make him some meat dishes. He didn't want to walk there but the hunger had driven him to go past his lethargic ways and get there as fast as possible.

To get to the kitchen he had to pass several maids but none of them helped Yuuma who asked them for assistance, nicely. They just looked scared and ran away which wasn't the reaction they previously had towards Yuuma making him wonder if something happened.

Yuuma would find out as he was about to make the trek across the sitting room but stopped by the doorframe. The sight of one person he expected to see when waking up, two siblings, mother, and an unexpected visitor.

Scarlet child!

Yuuma's hair stood on end but they didn't notice him and appeared to be deep in conversation. Yuuma observed and it seemed they were having a fight? Scarlet child fought with the madam while his eldest little sister sat looking at them back in forth with innocent eyes next to her mother. The butler stood a bit far away towards the wall in the middle looking to not pick a side in the brawl. His other little sibling had toys in his hands and played with them on the floor, blind and deaf to whatever was going on.

Yuuma had an epiphany as his lip twitched. It almost seemed like his butler, he glared, had not kept his promise. And so the misunderstanding resulted.

He had even gotten that Scarlet child from before, it was like getting a slap in the face. Yuuma strode into the room with no regard for the people with little fists clammed together and an aura that said, 'talk to me and you're dead.'

"Yuuma!" Sadao is dead.

He opened the opposite door as he had been ready to exit the sitting room, he was so close to the kitchen he practically taste and smell it...that isn't right. The kitchen should be quite far away he shouldn't be able to smell anything yet. Yuuma silently prayed he didn't have dragon super smell and hearing he would rather have human senses like he's always had. Yuuma chose the latter easily.

A hand caught his shoulder that broke his spell and he looked at his lazy cold butler with a sharp glare.

"Yuuma why arent you in your room?"

"Why weren't you in my room?" Yuuma really emphasized the 'my' part. The butlered eyes turned complicated and apprehensive but Yuuma just rolled his eyes and stated very clearly, "I'm hungry get me every meat dish the kitchen can make this instant!" The order was said and the butler quickly left in fast strides. Before he knew it he realized he was now stuck in the room.

"Yuuma honey come sit with mommy," His mother patted the other side of the coach for him to come. Yuuma felt bitter, he had ordered his butler feeling smug but at what cost did the redemption take? His leftover humanity?

With a hesitance, he walked over to the expectant eyes and sat four feet away from his mother. Her perfume smelled even worse today.

"Good morning Yuuma, are you feeling better now?" Peach eyes glimmered with an angelic smile tugged on the boy's lips. Yuuma slightly acknowledged the boy with a hum and nod but his mother looked dissatisfied at him like he had done something wrong. "So you boys met at the party is that right? Your good friends yes?" Yuuma frowned at his mother, was she ill? Why was her voice so high-pitched and abnormally sugary coated?... Oh right, Yuuma glanced at the fiery boy on the cushion opposite of them, he's a Scarlet child. Surely mother wants to make connections with the family.

"No madam he is an enemy," Sadao smiled coldly.

Yuuma could've sworn he saw his mother freeze into a statue and begin to crack. Her hands resting together squeezed each other as she laughed awkwardly. "Isn't that cute, looks like Yuuma has a lot of redemption," it sounded like she was happy for children to make enemies and stood up. She was ready to go as she gave Yuuma a long glare contradicting her smile, "play with the Scarlet child Yuuma." With those last words, she dragged her two smallest children out of the room. Yuuma could distinctively hear yelling from her but she had already gotten so far away.

Yuuma tapped his finger on the armchair in thought. It appears Sadao regards him as an enemy, it was because he slept wasn't it? He knew he shouldn't have fallen asleep. Yuuma groaned on the inside, will he be beheaded or something?

"I'm your enemy?" Yuuma questioned slowly meeting the boy's gaze.

"Well, that was before..." Sadao held his chin about to say more when the conversation was interrupted by Kenji. Yuuma stood up happily smelling the delicious aroma, he never had been so hungry before. Once the trays were placed down on the small table in front of them, Yuuma didn't consider anyone in the room again and started digging into the food.

Sadao blinked trying to get Yuuma's attention but failed after many attempts. Even the butler tried coaxing him to at least chew his food but got attacked by the glare Yuuma shot them.

"Can I have some?" Sadao asked awkwardly with a tight smile.

"No."

Sadao almost dropped the tea he held as a dumbfounded look smacked his face. Kenji held a hand to his mouth like he was covering something.

"Nevermind I still regard you as an enemy..." he mumbled woefully
