Chapter 57. The removed mask

The enemies did not take long to get into formation, as expected they only looked like a disorderly horde, even so they showed to be really ruthless, all their first row of troops were known units.

 Men and women, children and old men, all yellow monkey men.

 I could contemplate them, trembling and crying, in rags and without even a weapon, they wanted to use them to placate the first clash of forces, where more soldiers usually die in the shortest possible time.

 We also had other problems, their air superiority was quite large and worst of all, monstrous factions.

 Monstrous factions are those whose race has more resemblance to beasts than sapiens, in other words large masses of muscle and crazy statistics, all this in exchange for their rationality and almost the impossibility of obtaining wisdom or intelligence, these factions were usually used only by the players, because even if your race is a stupid, they could use it as if that effect was not present, obviously because the world did not disturb the minds of the players.

 Among the enemy races you could find a lot of variety, from monstrous bipedal reptiles to more stylized races, like cheetah amazons, a rare but very effective and agile race, obviously the races of turtles, tigers, red birds and bluish reptiles, were in some part a majority, obviously from the Chinese faction.

 Both armies looked at each other, but neither made a move.

 Within a couple of minutes, a large, jet-black tortoise stepped forward a little.

 It raised its right claw and pointed towards us, as expected it wanted a show and I would give it a terrifying one to remember.

 I gave a nod to my companions, both right and left.

 Only then did I give a warning to Gwen.

 -The time has come, remember, do not look at me under any circumstances, if anyone does so, let them deal with the consequences. 

 And without waiting for an answer I brought my left hand to my face.

 Then Gwen shouted - Everyone, look ahead, do not look away from your enemies under any circumstances - This order was really a cunning one, the enemy even if he heard it would only think that it was really a blow of attention, even motivational, it would never cross their minds that it was a warning about their safety.

 When Leva and the generals heard Gwen, they all looked at us for a second and when they saw where our hands were, they quickly looked forward and passed on the orders to their captains and lieutenants.

 Also, to my surprise and even a touch of admiration for their wisdom, the monkey slaves, charged with their eyes closed, the adults had the children in their arms and all clutched by the arms like a chain, it was a very strange sight but no one seemed to give it even a hint of interest.

 The magnificent charge of thousands of soldiers was like a tide of screams and flesh.

 But I turned into a barrage that stopped it with a single gesture.

When the tide had gone 10% of the way my companions removed their masks and with it a message came.

 [The masks of compassion have been removed, you are no longer restricted in your own mask.]

 I mentally prepared myself for what I was going to go through and suffer, but most of all, to give them my first and best smile in this new life.

 With a gentle gesture, my mask was grabbed and pulled away from me, letting them see my smile and with that the whole tide of enemies stopped completely.
