Chapter 17. Static week

Hel's point of view

A village... It really was unexpected news, or at least I expected to find one much further away. Not bad news but not good either, according to Lint, it seemed to be made up of turtle men, but they lived on land. Another point is their impetus for fishing, with the amount of nets they possessed in their village, you could see they had a huge surplus, so either they sell the surplus or they may be an outpost village.

To put it more simply, a fake village where you store food and hide it for future wars, quite a popular tactic.

And profitable, while one stores food, it can serve as a stopover for traders, safe zone to hide ambassadors or for covert meetings, also as a nexus to expand the intelligence network.

For now I don't see the need to go meet them, we still don't know their affiliation or if they are reincarnated or players.

I gave Saun the mission of guarding the town and prepared to meet with Gea and Pele, every few hours to know if it is safe and have the reports.

I also found those intelligent animals interesting, I would say they look like ants, although I don't remember any post about something similar, this game is huge and there is not much information about it. Right now I miss being able to go on the internet and look for any information.

After a long sigh I sent everyone to their posts.

At this point we can only wait, we are very feeble, too feeble.

Together with Lilith, we headed back to the base, we had the black rocks and other miscellaneous items, it was time to experiment.

We started mixing things randomly, trying to come up with something interesting, but it was not possible, it would not be that easy.

The reason is simple, even if I know how a rustic spear could be made, from watching documentaries, etc.... But here it doesn't work the same, each race has a different system, although you can make generic weapons, first you need to make those that are best for you, in other words, each race has a different method of getting to the same point, with different properties and aesthetics.

Whether they are weapons or buildings, even depending on which race forged a weapon, it may have unique abilities or characteristics.

A clear example is the dwarves, they seek perfection in the polygonal, coarse weapons, axes, tower shields, all their armor is made of solid blocks, without any circle or curve, the same for buildings. Elves on the other hand detest the polygonal, curved weapons, light suits, every structure has a unique beauty and their decorations are carved like roots or are like rivers of water, without corners, as if everything flowed naturally.

There are thousands of these examples, the orc huts, goblin caves, the flower houses of the fairies or the azurine houses of the sirenoids.

Each one has its own style of the race and only by finding this style one gets to be able to forge something.

The abyssal style was not known to me and with it we only had hours of trial and error ahead of us, at least until we got a few more points in wisdom.

With time, we got tired of trying to form something without having any achievement, so we collected the whole corals with fruits in a corner of our dome, next to it we brought large amounts of soil, with the help of Demora and many hours of work, luckily we found some mantas swimming, we killed them without hurting them much and used them to transport the sand, it had to be said that the mantas were bigger than us, although I still do not know how big we are in general, I lack to have some guide point to be able to know for sure.

After transplanting the fruits, we continued testing non-stop, that was our routine for a whole week, to obtain the magic sensitivity we still had a couple of weeks to go, but we were already able to notice a certain glow in the crystals, also called purite crystals, by Balthazar.

Our houses were not even started yet, because the team dedicated to it still did not know how to make them and much worse, they had not yet discovered a way to break these crystals, apparently they could withstand everything, even Demora could not break them with his amazing strength, yes, they could pull them out of the ground, although only those more loosely or that were born on the rocky surface and not along with other crystals.

Saun had already sent several reports, the first ones were how these turtle men spent most of the day fishing, then they transported it to a warehouse and prepared them for being smoked, after the job was done, they were transported in wooden crates back to the warehouse.

Other than that, it could be seen that they did not approach any other civilized beings and regularly received attacks from beasts, mostly animal kind, along with some beast kind.

Other than these facts everything was normal in the village.

It also seemed that they did not detect Saun spying on them, so I left him keeping an eye on them.

Lint and Caronte continued exploring, now they only had Velona with them, but they still managed to learn almost all the nooks and crannies within a couple of hours around.

Finally Balthazar discovered the first sealing spell, it was called light sealing, it allowed sealing small areas of air, compressing it and storing it.

I'm sure it will be extremely useful in the coming days.

If he manages to use it well to compress the air, then maybe my plan, of mixing that spell and the black stones will work, plus if we all learn it, every solely aquatic and very low level animal could be killed by us.

We could gain experience without the need for weapons, at least for now.

As I was thinking I was sitting on a ledge, outside the cave, looking out into the deep black.

Besides there is something that eats at my mind, there where the abyss is it has to be close, if not, Alabaster would not have sent us here, but we have already reconnoitered an extensive area, in this week, that leaves me with several doubts and opinions. Maybe it is far away, even farther and deeper than we have explored or ... looking down, we may have it closer than I expected.
