The unwanted child

I, Dorothy Han am the unwanted, unloved not to mention the unlucky twin of the Han family. I'm someone who was abandoned at birth because of being a girl and my parents simply couldn't find any use of me. But here I am at my parents doorstep, at a different country, thousand miles away from home, after my grandma died, who I had been living with for 8 years of my life.

I am now standing in front of a massive villa which reportedly belongs to my parents with the lady who is actually my twin brothers nanny. Apparently her name is Lucy and she's kind of scary.

"So, Miss Dore- ahem I mean Dorothy this is your home from now on. You are a young lady of a respectful family so behave from now on and most importantly try your best to forget about your life back in Japan."

I nod as if I understood her orders. The guards open the big entrance gate for us to enter. Just like I said this villa is just magnificent. What was I even expecting when a limo came to pick us up from the airport. The limo pulls up on the driveway. I get down from the car and start following Miss Lucy. As soon as the door to the villa opens a boy my age literally jumps on me.

"Ahhhhhh........help me." I scream.

He hastily lets go of me and smiles at me. "Oh I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you my dear sister." The boy says.

I look at Miss Lucy with questioning look. She gives me a nods assertively. And the boy hugs me again. But this time I don't push him away and hug him back.

"Aunt Lucy can I give my sister to a house tour?" The boy asks.

"Sure but let her freshen up first."

"Okay!!!! I'll be waiting for you lil sis." The boy says with a huge smile on his face.

Miss Lucy takes me to my room, which is huge and so beautiful. I gasp is excitement upon entering the room. The whole room is rabbit themed. It looks like someone carefully picked the furniture's and decorated the room with much love.

"Young master Felix personally chose the furniture's and other decorations of your room. You must thank him later. Enjoy today as much as you want because from tomorrow you won't get any free time." Miss Lucy says in stern manner.

I don't question her about who is master Felix as it's clear she's talking about the young boy I met just now, who is supposedly my twin brother or why I won't get any free time starting tomorrow. I tidy myself up and get dressed in the clothes from my new walk in closet which Miss Lucy told me to wear from now on. The maid who helped me just now takes me to Felix's room since he asked for it.

"My baby sister is here." Saying that he again hugs me tight.

I barely manage to break free from his lovey-dovey hug. "Are you my brother?" I ask.

"I'm so sorry that I didn't introduce myself to you. Come here play with me." He grabs my hand and takes me to his play room filled with toys which I only ever seen on TV. "You can play with my toys as you want. Now let me introduce myself, my name is Han Felix. You can call me Han Juwon if you like. I only use my Korean name when in front of the family elders. Mama and dad told me that I can use my Korean name freely when we go to Korea. Do I talk too much?"

"No it's ok. I'm Dorothy. And I don't know if I have any Korean name or not. Back in Japan everyone called me by Dorothy or Dory so I didn't really need another name. How do you know Japanese this good even after living here for so long?" I ask curiously.

"I learned it. Mama taught me." Felix replies.

We play for a long time and Felix also gives me a house tour. He also told he about his life here in Los Angeles and how he personally went to shop for my room with Miss Lucy after knowing I'll live with him from now on and that I love rabbits so he made the maids make it rabbit themed. I didn't meet my parents yet. When I asked about them Felix told me They are on a business trip to France and won't be back for the next two weeks.

After spending the whole day playing with Felix I almost forgot about grandma. Now I'm alone in my room and I miss my grandma a lot. I cried myself to sleep.

In the morning Miss Lucy wakes me up and introduces me to Sophie, who will serve me from now on. Sophie help me get ready for the day and takes me to the dining hall to have breakfast. Felix was already there eating. As soon as he sees me coming he yells my name and pull the chair next to him to it beside him. I walk up to that seat and sit on it.

"Dory I'll be going to school. Mama told me you can't go to school now. Not until you learn English perfectly. So, you'll be homeschooled for the time being. I'll be back as soon as school ends. So don't be too sad ok?" Felix says.

"Ok." I start eating.

Felix lefts for school and I am all alone with the adults in the villa. Miss Lucy wasn't lying when she said I won't have any free time from today. Language classes, academic classes, etiquette class and lastly Miss Lucy's special class knowing about the whole family and my ancestors. I get to have free time only when Felix wants to play with me, otherwise Miss Lucy doesn't let me have some leisure time. He even managed convince our parents to get a rabbit over call for me. Now we have another playmate.

Weeks passed just like that. And I finally meet my parents.
