Prologue

'Save her for me, tell her I won't be happy if we found each other here'

'Just stay with her, you don't need to go wherever she goes because that will be too much of a burden but please at least stay with her whenever she feels alone'

'Usually at evening she starts to overthink stuffs and needs a hug for those to go away'

'She breaks down when she can't handle things anymore'

'I'm sorry is it too much? I'm afraid these responsibilities I'm giving you will be a bother'

"Kei!"

I jolted up from my deep slumber with cold sweats falling from my face, deeply breathing and tears falling from my eyes

The door opened and there I saw my mother peeking from the side, "Kei?" She called to me and went inside my room

She sat beside me and wiped off the sweat and tears I have

"Are you alright?" She asked worriedly

I smiled to her, "Yeah, just having a bad dream" I told her

She looked at me and fixed my already messy hair

"Lim told you not to worry much of Rae, instead of helping her in your own will she'll start to think that you're helping her because her brother said so" Mother scolded me

I smiled widely, "If Kennoh didn't said those things then I wouldn't know how to help her" I said and chuckled

"You'll be alright, Rae will be alright too" my mother said pinching my nose and left my bedroom

I turned to my bedside table and saw a picture of us together

Oh, Kennoh, how's life in there?

Are you happy?

"Mom! I'm off!" I shouted from the doorway as I wore my shoes with my bag beside me

"Take care, Kei!" Mom shouted from the kitchen

As I'm ready to go, I went outside inhaling the cold breeze of October

"Hey, you done inhaling the polluted air?" I heard from the distance

I opened my eyes for a minute I think I saw my beloved one but as soon as I blinked it's none other than his sister

I head-locked her, "What's up Rae?" I asked her and laughed

"Get off me, Kei she said in a monotone voice, but I didn't bother to listen, so we went on our way

"So? You have plans after school?" I asked her to wonder what she's busy of these past few days

"Tell me, Kei, to what club am I suited better? The band or the dance?" She turned to me and asked sincerely

I was surprised with the question and stared at her

"You suit both, why not choose both?" I joked to her and laughed as she groaned and smacked me in the arms

"Well, what do you think? Do you want to write songs to express to other people what you feel or to dance to the rhythm of the music for people to watch those very elegant dance you make and make them feel what you feel?" I asked her as I stared ahead while we are walking to the train station

"Well, I actually wanted to do both, I don't know, I just feel like I can't get enough of just expressing through music or dancing" she said worriedly and aggressively scratched her head

"Don't be too hard on yourself, why don't you choose both instead?" I asked again and put my arms around her shoulder as we're nearing the crowded train station

"You think I can handle both?" she asked me with hope lingering in her eyes

"If you can't then let me do the job of doing your requirements while you practice hard" I told her and messed her hair

"You're busy with your job" she said and sighed

"I don't mind, you know I multitask pretty well" I said and smiled at her

She laughed and hugged me, "Thank you, Kei" she sincerely said and let go as the door of the train opened and we sat at our usual seats

Mary Rae Lim, she's the sister of my beloved one. Every inch of her reminds me of Kennoh especially her smiles and laugh. Very much of Kennoh and it makes me happy, it's like I'm reunited with him again

The road to Rae's school and to my work is now noisy because I saw this very best friend of mine since high school

"Keiiiiiiiii!" I heard someone exclaimed and as I turned to my left and saw Kenji sitting across us with his buddy Aji

I automatically smiled and laughed as I saw Kenji

I think it's been ages since we've been on a train together

Kenji Gonzales and Zyan Hajille Osorio, they're best buds since high school and even though I'm from a different school, I met Kenji through training camps of volleyball so we're pretty much close, especially Kennoh since he's the captain, they have this group of friends with the captains of different teams we played with

He sat beside me with Aji quietly following him, still the same old routine of playing games on his PSP

He head-locked me and laughed, "Keiri! How are you? Gosh, I missed you so much" he said as he messed my hair

I laughed as I struggled to get off his grip, "Let me go Kenji, you're messing my hair" I told him and nudged his sides

He laughed and let me go, "Hi Rae" he greeted Rae with excitement and Rae waved back

"Hey, Aji" I greeted him, and he smiled at me, "How's life, Keiri?" he asked as he turned off his PSP

"Nothing new, same old routines" I answered him and shrugged

"Oh, come on! I know there's something new" Kenji stated and bumped me with his shoulder

"Well, I eat a lot during break time?" I asked and we both laughed

"Hey, let's play volleyball on our free time, shall we? Just like the old times?" he asked as I smiled

"Is it alright?" Aji asked quietly and I nodded

"It's been a while since I played" I said and laughed

We laughed again and talked about our memories of high school and volleyball

"Oh gosh, it has been really long, Kennoh would always stay in the corner all sulked up" Kenji said and we both laughed at that memory

That would be my favorite part of that memory after all

Say, Kennoh? Would I be able to find my happiness again?
