Chapter 11 A Memory

Weird to hear what world of people say each day. I hear lies and hear some truth. My name is Charlie I was born with a gift empathy hearing. Meaning I can hear what your really saying. Like hear that your sad or mad or when you lie to others or to your self. Ye it's useful.

But makes me kind of lonely. But one cure that lonely is my brother. We at school cafeteria and talking. " So what you think of the two them". Charlie " From what I hear it's the real thing. It's not fake unlike other people relationships". Pick up a glass of water and drink some it. " Haha your brutal honesty". Charlie " What I say what I mean is simple as that".

" No wonder that you have very few friends". Charlie " Hey there are my friends not fake like using me or other stuff I don't like". " Now now you know I like think of myself as a hero for the people". There he goes again bring up his dream and carefree about it.

Charlie " Are we training up in the mountains again". " Yes we are and I got you gift. Before say anything I am one year older than you so do me a favor. Just don't tell parents about it". Charlie " Right I won't".

As they gone to the mountains and to place they train. " Ok close your eyes is going be a surprise". Charlie " Oh ok". He close his eyes. " Now put out your hands and open them". Charlie does what been told. And then he feels something in his hands.

" Now you can open up your eyes". Charlie does opens his eyes to see a katana. Charlie " Where you get this from". " From someone that owns me a favor". When Charlie looks at it as a black shelf it has red and black wrapping. Centerpiece gold ring with a image of a dragon and a warrior.

Charlie " This is cool thx bro now let's train". " Ok let's see who can do most". That year was the best with my brother. Remember fun times with him. But I guess all normal things come to an end. Those days was my worst one all my life.

Charlie " So bro how this hiking trip has been so far". " Fun and use the time train as well and your friends here". Charlie " Well was my idea I'm glad you're having fun". As day goes by the camp has been set up. As we about to get to sleep. We heard a cracking sounds though the area.

Charlie " What was that". " I heard that as well stay close ". Charlie pull out the katana. Then we a see two people walking. But there acting weird like unwell. And have cuts and there blood black? " Let's go find help for those two". There he goes again trying be a hero. Charlie " Bro I think we have some healing stuff. In a bag I go look for it but I don't like look of those two".

" Hey you two your all right"? The both them look him and doing unlike sounds. When I heard that it's like. There no life I don't hear any emotions. Just this unexpected well to spread. Charlie " Bro back off there not alive". He looks at Charlie with a confused look. But he trust his bro he started to backup. When he got five feet away the two them. Started to twitching there body. Then they ran to bro like zombies. But bro was not having this he ready. Have out his two hand weapons.

Then fired in heads of those two. " What the heck what happened with those two". Charlie " Don't know bro but I don't like it". Then hear more sounds like something big coming. Then see a monster look like a vampire bat that is seven feet high and eight feet wide. Red mist round it like armor.

Charlie " Hey bro looks like we in a movie". " Haha but I don't think this special effects". We both ready up for a attack. The monster move through the air to bro. It attack him leaving him with three cuts. Before it attacks again bro charge fire two shots. To its head and goes boom! And no head it fell out the sky to the ground. But bro two weapons looks can't be use any more.

Charlie " Bro you ok"? " Yea fine just a scratch what going on with this". Charlie " Not a clue but I think I'm done sleep"? " Yes let's then we talk about plans". We plan to go on with the hike. Then take path home its like short cut. Days gose by I see my bro get paler. Then started sound unwell.

Then we stop end path nere home. Charlie " Let's camp here for the night then be home in no time". As time goes on. Charlie checks bro see how his doing. Charlie " Hey bro feeling ok"? " No not really but we make it home. Hey promise you live fullest and live the dreams". Charlie " Yes I promise". Bro smile was happy.

Then his face was of pain. And his body twitches all over. Charlie " Bro what is wrong"!? Then I started moving back. His body was changing to look like. A fox with nine tales. Fur of darker red and all other the body. Are symbols that I have seen before. It was old arcane it was use in old time. For magic but only fine it in old rare books.

My friends check sounds to fine same thing as him. Charlie can only stay there. He's friends shock as well. But they got brave. They started to attack but one by one. He sees friends die and he only one left. Then he ready to die himself just give up. Then he remember a promise.

Charlie " Ok bro I do it for you I carry that ironic dream of yours. And stop you here I don't think your soul. Don't like your body killing more it ready had". Charlie pull out the katana then ready the blade. Charlie " I think I call you Mizutsona name a blade now let's go".

The fox run up attack the head. Charlie side duck out that. He use the time attack back. But fox was fast and move out of range of the blade. They even mach back and forth. Then started to rain. The fox run forth to use it claw for downward attack. But don't care for mud ground. It's slap on it and miss. And best time to attack. So as falling to the ground.

I move right under its body and move the blade. Though it and it worked. The fox cough up blood. It's still moving I was thinking I'm done for. Two the claws moves his back but it was light. As like a hug it was little last fire. Of my bro it cough up more blood. Moves its jaw down next my head. Make a soft sound.

Then it closes its eyes and body gone numb. I see the old arcane fade away and moving to ground were the blood is. Made it self into a pearl. But that last sound he made I know what's he saying. Sayed you did well even though it was not words. I cried for longest time.

Then I pick up the pearl it was oddly. I bring blade back to put it in the cover. But the pearl was glowing it breaking. The glow moves to the blade then in to it. The gray wave on the blade as trun black. And now glowing in low red light

Then I was hit with a force. I on my knees then I see all deaths that happened so. Friends dieing one by one then last minute with bro. Like its asking can carry the burden if not then your no good. I wanted to scream but I will not give in. I still have a promise to carry out even if I carry this burden.

It feels my will then force lessen. As it saying I except. Breathing hard and raining out here. I know then were every thing change.

As sun still high up and my blade was at the ready as I face this so called boss of these thugs. All I hear is a lazy ass kid that doesn't get his pacifier. Going around taking away people chance to survive. Because he got a verxis weapon.

I guess I see why my brother wanted to be a hero. As I'm here to protect people here. I made friends again helps pain of this burden. I not going let this douchebag. Just take it down even if last thing I do.

" Hey boy your ready when we start there no going back". Charlie " Yea I'm ready all I need is one hit with this blade shadow field". A dark area around him now. " So let be boy".

As move his to the scarf old arcane symbols. Glowing he pull out one the booms. A other replace it then like baseball player. He pitch it right at me. So this fight has started sighs. When right up me a symbol on it. I know what going do. I jump back and it explode.

So that kind of a ability ha? Well this be a headache. Charlie started running close to the boss. More explodes Charlie had to dodge each one. My shadow field only block in coming range attacks. He knows this each time he only throw them near me. Pain in ass but I can get creative. The next throw was coming to me right. As was still in the air I move to it. Then hit it explode and we'll it still a range attack. The shadow field blocks most it. But still little burn and I'm not backing down.

He now throws more them. He keep me at bay and I was getting tired not good. I need end this now or he wins by default. And I killed by my own verxis weapon. " Boy give it up". Charlie " How about no I have one more thing up my sleeve". All or nothing now. Charlie moves hand out and blade right on it. Then he cuts his hand. Charlie " manifest". Now old arcane symbols moves right on arm then all over. His eyes now of a fox symbols in his eyes. Looks he has now nine tales in symbols.

Charlie " Now let's end this". " Try me boy". When Charlie move he was lot faster. He on the boss in seconds. This shocks the boss then a grin on his face. One the booms was pulled out by it self. Then explode leaving boss unfazed be it. As boss doesn't see him there" How that boy".

Charlie says behind the boss " The name is Charlie not boy". As boss turn around try same thing again. But it was to late Charlie attack hit him as he turning. " Og haha that something but I know that blade does when it his my boys told. It whole reason for me to kill you.

At least he told the truth of why. His body now has the symbols. Charlie " Now flow of death". As fight over his body back to normal.The boss now dead and the verxis weapon is now free pick a new master. And I grap it sure to not let it fall in wrong hands. Sadly a verxis weapon user can only have one verxis weapon.

As look at the people they started charing the little girl comes up. " That was cool so who going give that to". Charlie " I think about it then pick as now I like a nap".
