Getting to know Linda's family tree

Lilly and Joseph King had 3 children, Rose King was the firstborn, John King was the second child and Josie was the last born.

Lilly and Joseph married while they were young and they were both in college. They started Global Tech right after college using the money they got as a wedding gift from their parents. When Rose was born 3 years into the marriage, the company was already flourishing and their share prices were on the rise. Initially, Rose was meant to be an heir, however, her interest was in Fine Art, her parents did not force her to take over the family business, especially after seeing John's interest in taking over. John is 4 years younger than Rose but after he voiced his interest in taking over the business, Lilly and Joseph started training him at the age of 16, sending him to all the best schools and on the weekends asking him to come observe how the company is run. However, John lacked leadership skills and he had no knack for the business, shortly after he took over at the age of 26, the shares of the company started plummeting, and the profit went down leading to complaints from investors. Lilly and John were left with no choice but to demote him. Luckily around that time, Rose and Thomas had started seeing each other, and unlike John, Thomas had a talent for the business. Lilly and Joseph decided to hire him to run the business, and as expected, the share prices recovered. 

John became vengeful, he did not like the idea of a stranger running the family business and managed to influence the media to criticize the family, Thomas started getting hate mail, being scrutinized and insulted by all forms of racial slurs. Rose and Thomas were forced to get engaged by her parents to remedy this chaos, their engagement managed to silence some of the noise. Seeing how welcoming the King family was to a person of color, attracted new forms of investments from other countries. Just like that, the company grew to a million-dollar enterprise. People often say Linda got her brain from her father.

The more the company grew, the more envious John became, blaming the family for his failure despite still holding a position of high power. John did not like the idea of reporting to Thomas and he resigned. Like her sister, Josie didn't have any interest in the company, her passion was in fashion, however, she did join the sibling power struggle under the influence of her older brother and also believed that her parents loved Rose more than her, thanks to John who managed to manipulate the hell out her. They would often scheme to tarnish Rose and Thomas's names in the media and to make them look bad in front of the board, but somehow they managed to come up on top. 

Cleaning up John and Josie's messes on top of running a million-dollar company with the rise of Rosie's gallery kept them very busy, in the end, Thomas and Rosie ended up being engaged for longer than expected. Just when they were finally catching a break and the wedding plans were back on track, Josie got pregnant and wanted to wait until the baby was born so she could be part of the wedding. She took a short break to focus on her pregnancy assigning her best friend the task to look after her gallery while she focused on her pregnancy.

The couple decided to let Linda keep the King surname because they saw that it would open doors for her in the future, but named her after Thomas's maternal grandmother. Three years later on their way back from New York for business, their Private Jet engine caught fire and crushed. Their death was a wake-up call to everyone, Josie stopped scheming and she couldn't forgive herself for what she did to Rosie, she quit fighting for the company, gave her shares to Linda, and started to chase her dreams while spending the rest of her life making it up to Linda. She shortly had Kate Black, her first child, followed by Freddy Black. She didn't want to associate her children with the King's surname, she took it as her punishment for what she did to Rose. John went on to have three children, but due to his obsession with the King empire, despite already having a stake in it, his wife divorced him and took the children with her before they became pawns in his sick games. But he vowed to find them once he reclaimed everything that was his.

When Linda turned 8 years old, Lilly and Joseph announced that she would be the heir of the family, this angered John and he became even more vengeful. Lilly and Joseph noticed that Linda was special when the teachers kept asking to move her up a grade, she could see patterns and trends that were otherwise hidden from normal eyes, and this helped her grandparents run the company while they waited for her to finish college. She began secretly helping them at the age of 7 and continued until her time came to take over. However, before joining the company, Linda was given a year to travel and explore the world. In addition to Global Tech, Linda inherited her mother's galleries and managed to open 2 more branches, one in New York because it was her mother's favorite city and the other one in Paris.
