As their lips were about to touch, Aether turned his head slightly, causing Selene's lips to land softly on his cheek.

"~hmm~"

Selene's eyes widened in surprise as she realized Aether had avoided the kiss. Tears welled up in her eyes.

"I-I am sorry... I-It must have fe.. felt di-disgusting... I- I am sorry...Please, D-Don't hate me, P-Please" Selene stammered, trying to hold back her tears that were trying to break down. She had just realized that Aether might not remember their past or her promise to him.

What she had done was nothing but one-sided feelings thrust upon a stranger.

'Drip, Drip'

"Ah? W-Why?" Selene mumbled, feeling her tears escaping involuntarily when she thought the word 'Stranger'... she never thought she would be a stranger to Aether.

Aether was taken aback by her tears. 'It must be hard for her...' he thought. He lifted his hand to wipe away her tears but stopped himself, realizing he wasn't.... Ether.
