Chapter 40: Teleport
A towering light shines in the direction of the Elf kingdom. The land has been lit up as bright as day.
"What the fuck is that?" [Edge]
The bright light pillar connected to the sky. Suddenly a wave of bright light started to expand from the pillar, traveling outwards and is coming straight at us.
Calli immediately hugged me and turned her back against the wave that is coming towards us. She only protected me from the wave which made me panic about Noel and Botan's safety. At that moment I heard it again, the sound of dice rolling. I closed my eyes.
'7...' [Edge]
I felt a wave of mana passing by me in the instant the wave hit us.
"It's fine now you can open your eyes." [Calli]
I immediately checked my surroundings and to find that nothing has changed. Next to me, I see Botan laying on the floor with Noel trying to shield her from the blast earlier. However, they are surrounded by a white translucent barrier. They don't look harmed in any way but they aren't moving.
I tried to touch the barrier but I can't force myself in therefore I was about to reach for my sword. At this time Calli has grasped the situation and spoke out.
"Don't bother, you can't break it" [Calli]
"What is this Calli, why aren't they moving?"[Edge]
Botan and noel seem to have been frozen in time.
"That's because they can't."[Calli]
"Why?" [Edge]
"It's because they are in the middle of being teleported." [Calli]
"What?"
"That beam is made of pure unadulterated mana and that mana is currently used to cast the largest teleporting spell I've ever seen."
"Teleportation?!! Didn't the stasis phase-only happen in an instant? Why haven't they being teleported despite already entered stasis???" [Edge]
"That's because there's a second wave. observe the light."
I looked at the pillar of light closely and see that the beam of light is expanding gradually.
"She's trying to teleport something else together with the living beings on this land, probably the land itself." [Calli]
"Who's she?" [Edge]
"You'll see." [Calli]
"Now let's dispel the both of them first and we have to act immediately before this whole place gets teleported." [Calli]
After both of them are dispelled, they were briefed on the current situation.
"I and Edge will go in to finish the job, the both of you to come after us from the main gate since the guards should be in stasis." [Calli]
"Well then see ya." [Calli]
Calli immediately grabbed me and flew off into the direction of the beam.
"WAIT!!! YOU COULD HAVE LET US INTO YOUR SHADOW!!!!!" [Noel]
"It's alright" [Botan]
*metallic sounds*
"We've got our own ride."[Botan] *Grins*

We're flying!!! We're flying in the air and currently approaching the beam of light at incredible speed. We close in the pillar of light and dived straight into the curtain of light.
We landed in the center of the town. The buildings are all made out of wood with roads laid by rocky blocks and the scenery looked awfully similar to Sike Mura. I wonder if it's thanks to Miko sharing their resources with them through Flare. In front of us is a tavern with some guards running towards the building from a distance but they are all in stasis.
The source is a pillar of light that is smaller but just as bright and it's emitting from the tavern in front of us.
We walked into the building.
"Calli, you don't mean her as the princess do you "[Edge]
"Yes I mean it" [Calli]
"But how? From the records, Princess Himemori does not have any gifts besides her natural intellect." [Edge]
"Seeing is believing." [Calli]
We reached the floor where the door has been blasted off along with 2 guards in stasis on the floor.
"So... this is your master plan?"[Calli]
The room is covered by bright light and the white rays shoot out of the room as blinding light.
"Aren't you impressed? I spent a whole month to write the formulas." [Himemori]
The weak voice resounded from the bright room.
"You'll die from this you know that don't you?" [Calli]
"The odds that I'll succeed is 75 percent, but I'll still die whether I fail or succeed. " [Himemori]
The voice sounded weak but very determined to pull it off
"Why do you do this?"[Edge]
"To end a war, to protect my people, eliminate the enmity between the races. This is the only way I could think of at this point."[Himemori]
"But didn't you wanted to run away? From all of these duties? Why the sudden change of heart?" [Edge]
The voice stops for a second and continued her speech
"I started this so I should end it. It wasn't supposed to harm anyone but now, too many people are going to die thanks to my actions. So, I must fix this myself!" [Himemori]
"Don't you want to live?" [Edge]
"For my country I-"[Himemori]
"JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT YOUR COUNTRY, NOW TELL ME DO YOU WANT TO LIVE! " [Edge]
".....Yes?" [Himemori]
"Do it Calli" [Edge]
Calli walks towards the room with slow footsteps
"Wait what are you going to do?" [Himemori]
The voice turns nervous about what I'm asking Calli to do.
"Don't come near me! Do you have any idea what you're doing? You're going to make the war happen goddamnit! " [HImemori]
"The burden is not for you to carry alone. Everyone has their fair share of the burden for this war. So you don't have the right to make it all about you!" [Edge]
"NO DON'T COME IN HERE!" [Himemori]
Calli walked into the room leaving a thin shadow behind that was overwhelmed by the blinding light.
"Why are you doing this, Why.... It was my only chance to redeem myself...." [Himemori]
Her voice sounded sad and weary.
"Don't take it personally, we're just here to do our job"[Calli]
"AND I'M DOING MY JOB AS WELL SO WOULD YOU STEP ASIDE UNTIL ITS OVER!!?" [HImemori]
"You know we can't do that so just give up already." [Calli]
"THEN YOU HAVE TO MAKE ME A PROMISE!" [Himemori]
"...." [Calli]
"...." [Himemori]
"Ok never mind I can make do with you kid." [Himemori]
"Me? What do you want me to promise." [Edge]
"No matter what happens, you need to see it through in my stead and I mean this war!" [Himemori]
I start to feel some pressure from the words I'm about to agree, maybe she's feeling this pressure a hundred times more and it lead her to do all of this.
"I promise." [Edge]
"....Really?... WOOHOOO! that just got rid of all my guilty conscience, whatever you can kill me now. "[Himemori]
*Sigh* [Calli]
".....Whatever" [Calli]
Then, the light from the room died down. I ran into it immediately to check the situation.

Meanwhile, Botan and Noel had reached the center of the town from the main road when the stasis stopped suddenly and everyone started moving again.
"Wait they're moving again!" [Noel]
Botan immediately pulled Noel into the alleyway.
"SHH." [Botan]
From the alleyway, they are in clear view of the building.
The soldiers reached the building and surrounded it. Then they saw a silhouette exiting the tavern, there was Calli, Edge, and a scarlet haired girl covered in drapes carrying an unconscious pink haired toddler.
It was then, a person blocks the alleyway.
*Slams wall*
"HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE!?" [-]
