1 The Birth of the Kings

It was August when summer break was just ending when three first year kids were walking down the street from their first day of middle school.

Kotaro Hayama: "Hey big sis Reo, did you make your basketball team? I made it to first string as the sixth man with my awesome slashing." Kotaro then proceeded to pull off a crossover in front of Mibuchi while laughing.

Reo Mibuchi: "Where are your manners Kotaro?! " As he slapped Kotaro on the head.

Kotaro: "Hey! What was that for?!" when he recoiled from the slap.

Mibuchi: "Well you're being obnoxious again, and of course I made first string. Who else has my pure jump shot. "

Then Ekcichi Nebuya smacked both of them on their back much to their horror.

Ekcichi: "Hahaha, congrats Reo-Chan and Kotaro-Chan. I made first string too. By the way, where's Teppi and Nathanael?" They noticed Teppi Kiyoshi and Nathanael Kuroko training in the basketball court, and Nathanael beating the crap out of Kiyoshi with ankle breakers and extreme ball handling. It wasn't a surprise since Nathanael had taught them all how to play basketball even though they were the same age.

The score was 10-0 with one point left for N to win. Kiyoshi had the ball at the top of the key.

Kiyoshi: "What should I do? Nathanael's only missed one shot. I have to score no matter what. Hm I'll do that!"

Kiyoshi drove to the right then did a spin move towards the basket.

(N is Nathanael's nickname. If you get the reference from Pokémon Black and White.)

N: "Not bad Teppi, the spin move was well executed, but I taught you that..." N smiled and reached up to block the shot.

Kiyoshi: "I'm not done yet!" Kiyoshi then tossed the ball to the other side of the hoop. He quickly moved to the other side of the hoop to prepare to shoot.

N: ("Damn, he's going to use the hoop to prevent me from blocking him. I'm not that fast to block him from behind yet!")

Kiyoshi had scored his first points in the game with a genius play.

Mibuchi: "Should we interrupt them?"

Kotaro: "Nah let's watch them duke it out."

Ekichi: "That play by Teppi was beautiful only N has done that move."

Kiyoshi: "hahaha, you didn't expect that move did you N. I got sick of seeing you do that move all the time."

N: "Teppi you bastard."

On the next play N soundly blocked Kiyoshi and swished a three to win the match.

N: "Ah Reo, Kotaro, Ekichi, are you ready for Hell?" as he approached them with a menacing grin for their grueling training session.

Two hours later at 5:00 P.M. the four players training had just finished their three mile run while N was already waiting for them having completed a five mile run. All four of them face planted onto the grass, and complained that they couldn't move.

N: "Hey you want to be best players in the world right? Then you have to kill yourselves over and over."

All Four: "Bastard..."

While they were groaning, N thought to himself that they still have a long way to go before they could match the Generation of Miracles, and he still had so many doubts about wether they could break the door like Kagami did.

N: "By the

way, what middle schools did you all attend?"

Kyioshi: "Shoei"

Mibuchi: "Boukadon"

Hayama: "Royasta"

Nebuya: "Fukagi"

Kyioshi: "What about you N?"

N: "Well I chose Teiko. I heard they have a strong team, and I figured my little cousin will attend next year as well." We should get going home let's meet up tomorrow after school. I'll show you guys something special."

As he walked home N thought about how to make the Uncrowned Kings better than they were. Then he realized that perhaps he could teach them their unique techniques tomorrow. The earlier they learn them the better.

N: "Father I'm home."

Father: "Nathanael did you do well on your first day of middle school? I hope you didn't disappoint me son. I didn't name you "Gift of God" for no reason."

N: "Worry not father, I have successfully made it onto the first string as a starter, and my grades were splendid on my placement exams."

Father: "Good"

They ate their dinner quietly then N excused himself to his bedroom.

In N's dream, he started to dream about his mother and Tetsu, and how he missed them dearly. The dream turned from pleasant to a nightmare as N reminisced about his mother's death, and how it had split the family. That meant N hadn't seen Tetsuya in years.

[Beep*Beep*Beep*]

It was 7:00 in the morning. N got up and cooked breakfast. His father does not approve of me cooking when the chef can cook instead, but N preferred his cooking. Once he brushed his teeth and got the uniform on, his butler drove him to school.

N got out, and saw Nijimura come running towards me.

Nijimura: "N!"

N: "Shuzo"

Nijimura also made the first string as the starting Power Forward. They had become quick friends being the only first years in the first string. Nijimura put his hand around N's shoulder, much to his disdain, and then they walked to class together.

Girl one: "Hey that's Kuroko and Nijimura right!?

Girl two: "Yeah I heard they both made first string as starters. They're so cute."

Girl three: "I hope they look this way!"

N flashed the group of girls a smile, and they started blushing and giggling.

His smile earned him a sharp punch to the gut by Nijimura.

Nijimura: "What do you think you're doing ladies man."

N responded by stepping on his foot causing him to trip right before entering the class room

N: "Nijimura, are you alright?" On the inside, he was laughing completely, and the class was hysterical at Nijimura's face plant

Nijimura gritted: "I'll get you back for that, bastard."

The last class ended, and the butler drove N to the park. The Uncrowned Kings were already waiting.

Mibuchi: "N-chan, are you ready to show us the special moves?

N: "Of course Mibuchi. Let's do a four on one."

The friends were surprised about a four on one.

Ekichi: "N, I know your strong, but can you even beat two of us at once?!"

N: "I said I was going to show you guys something special didn't I."

N got the ball at the top of the key with all four of them guarding him. He let a out a feral smile, and went into a "Heaven" shot.

Mibuchi: "Wha-?!"

*Swish* The shot was perfect.

Mibuchi: "What was that....?"

N: "That shot is called heaven."

Mibuchi: "It was beautiful. Please, N, teach me how to shoot it!" Then huge puppy like eyes stared at N.

N: "Don't worry Mibuchi, I was planing on teaching you anyway, and the rest of you will learn some skills as well. Now come at me again. The next thing I'll show is Lightning Dribble."

*Boom*Boom*Boom*Boom*

Kotaro: "What is this loud sound?!"

Kiyoshi: "No way, It's the ball being dribbled!"

Kotaro: "I can't even see the ball right now, and N's smile is freaking me out!"

*Boom*

N: "I think one is enough." He slashed forward and passed them easily, and he made the layup. "Kotaro, I'll teach you this technique, and let's switch it to a two on two with Mibuchi at the three point line. I'll show Kiyoshi a nice technique that he can use since he has massive hands. I can do it because I have strong handgrip, but it also requires a Point Guard's intuition."

N drove towards the basket with a quick crossover. He was met by Kiyoshi and Nebuya in the paint, and N jumped for the one handed layup.

Nebuya: "Ha we got you now N!" He leaped up for the block with Kiyoshi.

N: "Hmm humming" All of a sudden the ball left N's hands towards Mibuchi in the corner.

Mibuchi: "Wha- how's the ball coming towards me, and the pass is perfect, right in my shot pocket! *Swish* as the ball went into the hoop with a perfect spin. Everyone's reaction was absolute shock to how in the world N made that pass.

N: "That is called Right of Postponement, Kiyoshi." The rest of the day included N training each one to how to use their skills.

Ekichi: "Hey N what about me?".

N pondered for a while: "Huh well you have a huge capacity for strength, but what if you added technique to your moves. I'll set up a training regimen for you, Nebuya. Thus the great Kings were born with their sensei leading them.
