1 Betrayal

The Teiko Middle School Basketball Club. An incredibly strong team with over one hundred members and three consecutive championship wins. Even within that brilliant history, a group of five prodigies known as "The Generation of Miracles" stood above the rest. However, there was a strange rumour concerning the "Generation of Miracles". Despite being relatively unknown and lacking a game record, there was one more member recognized by the five prodigies. A phantom sixth man, Kuroko.

It was the second year. Seirin Academy had multiple applicants. Many of them were promising athletes with great potential. There was a wide variety of them from point guards to shooters and some benchwarmers. The only way to select the best out of all of them was to filter them out through intense training. The first years were strong and relentless. It was hard to get some of them to drop out so, after multiple weeks, they had drilled the first years down and gotten all the diamonds in the rough. The thing is, they still had too many people so they resorted to the hellish training the first years had recently come out of.

Kuroko was unable to keep up with the training and was classified as dead weight. He was thrown off the team. He begged to have a second chance but his requests were denied so he asked Kagami to stand by his side declaring that he is Kagami's moon. But little did he know that Kagami had changed too. Kagami scoffed and snorted saying that he has no need for a moon that can't even reflect light and left Kuroko to fend for himself. Kuroko took this as a betrayal and then realised how cruel the world really is. A tear rolled down his face as he stated"Dammit! I thought we were having fun." his vision blurred so he could only see Kagami's scarlet hair gradually getting smaller and smaller as he moved away. Overcome with rage, Kuroko slammed the door behind him and left Seirin High Basketball club.
