Clash of the Miracles
Chapter 11
As the second half begins, Riko notices Seirin's down morale and looks at Kaito. With a nod from Kaito, he removes his jacket, ready to play in the second half. Taiga Kagami is subbed off to rest, exhausted from defending Kise and scoring points, especially with Kuroko's injury. Kuroko expresses his desire to rejoin the game, but Kaito insists that he rests and places his trust in him. Hesitant but hopeful, Kuroko nods, unsure of Kaito's current strength and if he can still surpass the evolved middle school miracle, Kise.
The second half commences, and Kaito steps onto the court, drawing vigilance from the Kaijō team. Curiosity fills their gazes as they wonder about the power of this forgotten miracle and how he will fare against their own miracle, Kise. Kise approaches Kaito, addressing him as Kaitocchi and wishing him good luck while also expressing his expectation for an impressive performance. Kaito stares back blankly, reversing the sentiment, and tells Kise not to disappoint him, as he was the miracle who replaced him after he left Teiko.
The game begins, and Kaito showcases his beautiful destruction style of basketball. Dribbling in front of Kise, Kise attempts to steal the ball but is left in the dust, unable to react to Kaito's moves. Kasamatsu steps in to stop Kaito, but Kaito effortlessly executes a spin move followed by a fadeaway mid-range shot, scoring. The Kaijō team is shocked by how easily Kaito surpassed Kise. Kise tries to imitate Kaito's move but realizes that he cannot match his physical stats and skills. When Kise attempts a spin move, he realizes the ball is already in Kaito's hands. Kaito then swiftly bullet passes it to Mitobe, who scores an easy layup. Looking at Kise, Kaito remarks that his ability is imitation, finding it interesting, but Kise cannot replicate his moves, leaving Kise in shock. Kise finally realizes the true power of Kaitocchi, dispelling any doubts he had.
The game progresses, and Seirin catches up to Kaijō in the third quarter, with the score at 104-102, with Seirin leading. Kaito continues to dominate with his shooting and passing throughout the fourth quarter, leading Seirin to victory with a final score of 130-106. Kise finds himself on the floor, panting and tearing up as he experiences his first defeat. Kasamatsu kicks Kise, urging him to forget about the word "losing" and focus on revenge. Kise smiles in response.
Both teams line up, and Kise tells Kaito and Kuroko to be prepared for his revenge. Kaito simply looks at him and calls him an idiot, while Kuroko responds with a determined "bring it." Kagami assures Kise that he will become stronger next time, to which Kise replies that he will be waiting for Kagamicchi.
