'Oh, that's pretty good.' Albert thought.

He ripped his focus away from the system, and returned it towards the sword wielding Knight.

"May I ask, what's the point of all of that?" Albert said, dodging the swing of the Brunette Knight.

Brynn didn't reply. Her face has no hint of hesitation as she swings the curved blade towards Albert. Seeing that the unreasonable woman has no intention of answering, Albert sighs, and nonchalantly weaves through Brynn's predictable strikes.

This unconcerned attitude only furthers Brynn's irritation. As she wonders how a lowly guardsman is dodging her attacks with relative ease.

"This is pretty shameful, you know, " Albert Said, " Attacking a man with no weapons; and having no good reason in doing so."

Albert has no intention of attacking the girl. In his mind that will only escalate the situation further. And also, attacking a soldier of a Princess Knight is a huge offense, and will bring about immense consequence.

Which is Bullshit.

Yeah it's understandable, you wouldn't want a citizen to attack a police officer after all. But, this immunity has an effect on their egos, mainly the men of The Black Dogs. believing themselves to be invincible and exempt from punishment.

Albert dodges an overhead attack from Brynn.

"I could tell you're getting exhausted, Miss Brynn." Albert voices out.

"Shut up!-" the girl ignores his words. Instead, she again delivers a full body swing aimed to Albert's head.

Albert's eyes widens, as he narrowly dodge the lethal edge of the Scimitar.

"Wow!" Albert shouted, " There was killing intent there… Are you trying to kill me?"

The Knight pants from exhaustion, as she gazes at Albert with bad intention.

"Maybe…" She said, struggling to properly breath.

She returned her gaze to Albert, "Why have you not attacked me?"

She asked, confusion and irritations, as in her mind she believes Albert is underestimating her.

'This jerk is not taking me seriously!' She thinks.

Albert looked at her with a narrowed gaze, a look of confusion masked his face.

'Is she seriously asking me that?' Albert thinks, bewildered.

"Was that a rhetorical question, Miss Brynn," Albert asked, trying to gauge the Knight's intention.

Brynn didn't answer, merely looking at him. As if, waiting for an answer.

Albert mentally rubs his head, ' Oh my God, she's serious.'

Albert sighs, "You know as much as I do, Miss brynn. That attacking you will bring severe consequences on my part. I'm sorry that you think that I'm underestimating you. I'm merely preserving my life and job."

' I lied, I think you're pretty weak,' Albert thinks.

"You're already compromising your Job, by not doing it properly!" Bryn shouted.

Albert mentally facepalm, as Brynn's words have truth. He should not have done that in the first place. That was fucking moronic.

"I guess you're right, but attacking with the intention of beheading me was a bit of a leap don't you think Miss Brynn?"

"And, what the hell was the point of you having me run around the castle, like a rat, to find a damn soap? Albert annoyingly said. Impolite words leak out of his mouth.

Brynn falters a bit, but instantly tightens.

"You don't question my words, you lowly guard!" Brynn shouted, in the pathetic attempt to regain her authority.

Albert scuffed, not bothering to show politeness anymore.

"You people are unreasonable." Albert said in a cold tone, " No wonder a lot of people hate a bunch of you."

"It's a mystery how you got to that position with that attitude of yours."

"YOU!"

Brynn fiercely screams, her face shows nothing but anger and ire. Her grip on the sword threatened to shatter its handly. And a strange energy began to enveloped the Knight.

"Hmm?"

Albert hummed at the strange energy, his CU reacting to its presence.

"Magic?"

But before he could properly analyze the phenomena. The sword of Brynn threatens to cleave his neck.

But such a straightforward attack won't work on a skilled fighter.

With little effort, Albert Dodges the swing, his body flows right through it, and without hesitation, he strikes Brynn's exposed stomach with an open palm attack.

The swift attack pushed the angered knight a few steps back, confusion and pain littered her mind, as she tried to recover. But, before she could, the feeling of cold steel touched her neck.

"What the…"

She looked up, and saw the unfeeling gaze of Albert. Not having the same passiveness he once had. She feels as if she's looking at a dangerous monster.

She shakes in fear, as she tries to grab her sword, but she's only grasping dead air as her sword is no longer in her arms.

"Doing this could land me a death penalty, but I could not tolerate it no more, " Albert's cold voice echoes through the empty courtyard.

He looked at Brynn with an unreadable gaze.

"How does it feel? To have a sword threatening to detach your head from your torso."

Brynn sweats in fear, as she feels the growing killing intent of albert. His steeled eyes promised no humor, as he gripped the sword even further.

"Who are you?" She asked. In dread.

No normal guard could outskilled a Knight with Goddess Celestine's blessing. And why is he working as a Guard if he had this much skill? Surely he'll be better off joining the black dogs, or becoming a Male-Knight.

"Hey! You finally question that!" Albert mood suddenly lighten, " I was questioning your intelligence, when didn't even asked how a fucking Guardsman was able to go toe to toe with a knight."

Albert laughs and removes the edge from Brynn's neck.

He sat down to her level and looked at her with a smug grin.

"You were pretty shaken up there." Albert smugly said, " Though no worries I have no intention of cutting your neck in the first place, that was merely a warning…"

"Or a prank."

Brynn's confusion reaches an all time high, as the sudden switch emotion baffles her.

"What?..."

Albert looked at her, " What do you really think I'll kill a Knight? No, that will be moronic on the highest degree." He smiled.

" I don't want to gain the ire of the Queen of mercenaries, after all."

"I heard she's pretty strong."

"What the- what are you talking about!?" The confusion of the small Knight peaks, as she let out her flabbergasted irritation.

Albert took a step back from the knight, " You were pretty unreasonable, having me run around, fighting me and almost killing me," Heh, yeah right.

"So I decided to knock the sense back into your head, Miss Brynn."

The knight is baffled at Albert's words. How can he just switch his personality like that? He goes from emitting a Killing Intent similar to that of a trained killer, to nonchalance in a matter of minutes.

Brynn wonders who this man truly is.

"Who are you?..." She asked, still shaken up because of her neck mere inches of being cut.

"Albert, no last name, and one of the kingdom's Guards," Albert said.

Brynn felt her teeth clench, " Stop messing around! Tell me who you are!" She said, her voice becoming loud.

"If you don't tell me, I could have you executed!" She threateningly added.

Albert scratched his head, " I don't know what to say. I've already told you who I am."

Albert said, a hint of Sarcasm dance across his words.

Brynn tried her best not to stab the man, her face distorted from anger to the point she looks like an Orc; ready to maule this annoying Guy right in front of her.

Albert, seeing the woman's frustration, decided to stop messing with her, so as to not anger the almost naked Knight even further.

"Seriously. I'm just a normal Guardsman," Albert said.

"Stop bullshitting me, " She roared in annoyance, " No normal guard could fight a trained swordsman with the Goddess' Blessing! You're not a normal man!"

"Was that a compliment? Well, no matter, I guess I'm just built different…" Albert raises his arm, and tilts his head.

"The world is a big place after all, is not that bizarre to meet a Guard that could fight a knight at the same level… right?" Albert said.

"Yeah, and seeing Alicia being good to a man is a daily occurrence." Brynn deadpan tore holes on Albert's head.

Albert's mouth forms the letter O, "Is that sarcasm I hear? From a dignified subordinate of a Princess Knight no less? Now that's rare." Albert jokingly said.

Brynn's face darkens, as she rises up from the dirty ground, " I'll say it one more time , and I'm not gonna repeat it. Watch. Your. tone."

Albert grins.

"Calm down there now, I was merely joking."

"Joking with your superior is not acceptable behavior." Brynn replied coldly.

"Oh, word? I did not know there's a written rule like that." Albert replied, " Last time I checked, it says merely, not to disrespect them."

Albert stood up, and dusted his lower half, " No matter, are we done here? Miss Brynn."

Brynn tightens, " We're not done here you-!"

"Brynn! Where are you?" A seductive voice shouted, echoing through the empty courtyard.

The two turned around to the source of the voice. Maia, the Queen of Mercenaries, is wandering around looking for her knight.

Brynn's anger dissolved immediately as her focus turned towards the red-head in an instant.

"Miss Maia! I'm here!" she shouted back.

Maia walked towards us, grasping her head.

"Brynn! What took you so long?" She asked," I fell asleep because of you, now I got a headache."

Maia said in an irritated voice.

Brynn's face turned to horror, as she realized what she did.

"Miss Maia, I deeply apologize! I was going bac-"

Brynn was about to yap, when Maia stopped her.

"Woah, calm down there, I'm not angry at you I'm just annoyed," She said, " Still, what took you so long to get back? I almost started to think that you-"

She was about to continue when she noticed Albert's presence. In an instant, an unreadable glint glowed on her eyes. And a teasing grin forms on her face.

"Well, hello there handsome~ " She seductively said.

Albert on the hand returned to his stoic face, and lowered his head, " Good Evening, Miss Maia."

"Oh no need to be cautious around me~" her melodic voice threatened to trance Albert, but our neuro divergent protagonist refuses to let himself be.

Noticing the lack of reaction, Maia's grin grows even further, "Well~ could you tell this big sister, what your name is?~"

"Albert, no last name," Albert swiftly answered.

"And I'm in my Twenties, Lady Maia," Albert added, his stoic hardened even further.

Maia got closer to Albert, "Oh, don't be so alert~ This Onee-san don't be bite~"

Albert's face widened a bit, 'A Japanese term?'

But, Albert didn't linger on it.

"Miss Maia, don't get closer to that man!" The angry voice of the Knight of the Princess Knight grabbed the attention of the two.

Maia's face turns confused.
