1 The King and The Fat Boy

Gaia.

A planet where everyone was blessed with mana. Every single being born on this planet was involuntarily assigned a talent.

The talent of magic.

Gaia was in itself a World like none other.

Every being living on this planet had a separate system that allowed them to feel, absorb, and use mana.

Just like the blood circulatory system, that keeps the blood flowing in a body, every being was born with a system for mana circulation.

The Mana Root System.

A complex system made up of hundreds of thousands of nano threads that are spread evenly in the bodies of beings of Gaia.

Thus, the abundant mana of the World flowed through its beings even more efficiently than air.

Since everyone in the World was born with at least one similar talent, the people were ranked based on the power that they could show through this talent of theirs.

In this World which was said to be blessed by the energy of the heavens, everyone was born with a peculiar consciousness.

From the humans, a child, a year of age, could tell precisely how his parents looked. At the age of two, that child would be speaking perfectly. At the age of three, that child would have no problem performing their first magic.

But sometimes there were children born with the same talents but with extraordinary differences.

Like the current King of Losmo.

At birth, King Lomlos of the Losmo Kingdom was glowing brightly as the wet nurse was holding him in her hands.

When he reached his first majestic birthday, he was already channeling mana through his hands to perform a fireball, which was considered hard to control even for a child aged seven.

On his sixth birthday, he was crowned as the King of Losmo.

On his eleventh birthday, he became the youngest Wizard of the continent, Agrazeel.

As all the magic of King Lomlos had a blindingly bright tone because of his sun-like bright mana, he was awarded the title of the Burning Wizard by the Kings of the seven wizard towers.

Now, King Lomlos was just thirteen years old and was already on a journey to become a ranker in the world of wizards.

The 'WoW' ranking.

WoW, or the World of Wizards was a magical world that contained the name of all the wizards that had been recognized by the wizard tower.

The Wizard Tower was an organization made of magicians who were Wizards and the magicians who were aiming to be a Wizard before they died.

Thus, an organization like this had an aim. And, that aim was to recognize the true power of the Wizards and rank them.

Initiated by the Wizard Tower, the Wizards were ranked by their prowess and handling of mana.

Currently, only a thousand wizards were on the ranking and to become a ranked wizard, a wizard had to defeat one of the ranked wizards to replace them on the wizard ranking.

To know which Wizards were ranked Wizards, it was either that their fame was on the level of a whole Kingdom, or a wizard could check the Ranked Wizard Scroll which could be found in the World of Wizards.

Thus, the King of Losmo, the burning wizard, King Lomlos was out on a journey to put his name on that scroll.

Unbeknownst to the King, his subjects, or anyone else in the Kingdom, no one could have imagined that someone was cursing at the thirteen-year-old King at the moment.

Agrazeel Continent's Losmo Kingdom.

In a certain rundown orphanage, a thirteen-year-old boy was sitting in a dark corner of a dimly lit hall.

He had a happy look on his face yet envy could be seen lingering in his dark red eyes.

Though he was thirteen, he looked more like a man who was in his mid-twenties.

The boy was sitting but it was still quite easy to tell that his frame was big. Thus, he couldn't be compared to any other thirteen-year-old.

The boy didn't look tall from any angle, instead, it was his width that looked ever-expanding.

Just a look at him and it was clear that he weighed no less than a hundred pounds more than what his weight should be.

Thus, no one could say that this boy had reached such a state by eating for only thirteen years.

In his hand was the colored cover page from the famous newspaper company, The Wizard Times.

On the top, in bold fonts, there were two words.

( YOUNGEST WIZARD )

Then right underneath there were four bright-tone words.

( PRIDE OF AGRAZEEL CONTINENT )

Then, came the ending words of this three-line title which was seemingly declaring the hottest news of the whole continent.

(THE BURNING WIZARD, LOMLOS! )

"Damn it, King Fucking LOMLOOSSS~" The fat boy cursed while clenching the page as his grip curled into a fist.

The boy was gritting his teeth while looking at the picture of King Lomlos who was the same age as him.

"Same age, but I have achieved nothing while he is already a Wizard." The boy mumbled while shrugging his thick shoulders.

The hard expression on his face slowly turned into a smile as the envy in his eyes vanished.

"Congrats, my King." The boy said clearly while bowing his head. His voice had a hint of something other than respect, something with more of a challenging nature.

Unbeknownst to Lomlos, this orphan boy was congratulating him as though he considered the King his rival.

"I will become a wizard!" with a deep exhale, the boy declared with a confident tone.

As his declaration was ending, at the same time, light steps came to a stop behind him.

Someone had sneaked up on him and the boy instantly knew what was going on.

This was something that was a regular happening in this orphanage. Something that only happened to him and him alone.

The expression on the boy's face changed and he tightly shut his mouth whilst getting ready for an impact of some kind.

"Boom."

A punch landed on his thick love handles with a burst of maniacal laughter.

The boy rolled forward and ended up with his face buried in the cover page which was now on the floor.

"Fatty Arthur wants to become a Wizard." The boy spoke in a condescending tone.

Arthur who was on the ground tried to raise his head hurriedly as he heard the voice.

Bam!

A foot landed on the back of his head pushing his face back on the floor.

Arthur groaned while the dark corner looked even darker now.

Three shadows were encroaching on his back, each with a maniacal laugh that was traumatic for Arthur.

Without even turning around Arthur knew who was bullying him.

"Leo, Kylian, and fucking Cristiano." Arthur mumbled while the ones holding the names bombarded him with kicks.

"You don't even have a mana root system and here you are dreaming of becoming a Wizard?" Leo smirked while the kicking was an ongoing show.

Though they were kicking him with all their physical strength, Arthur could only feel his mass getting kneaded by the shitheads.

"Yeah, put in more strength, you dimwitted triplets." Arthur shouted like a madman as though he was commanding his masseurs.

Hearing Arthur commanding them instead of begging for mercy, the triplets smiled.

Leo, Kylian, and Cristiano weren't orphans unlike Arthur here.

They were the sons of the orphanage director.

And, unlike Arthur who couldn't use magic, the triplets were already senior students in one of the best magic academies in the Losmo Kingdom.

The only reason why they would bully Arthur every day was because he lacked that one talent that everyone had.

The absence of mana root system.

The inability to use mana.

Arthur was a lost cause.

Now being shouted by someone they considered a lost cause, the triplets only laughed because they knew that they could turn the same commanding tone of Arthur into the cries of a dying pig.

Leo, the strongest one of the three brothers raised his hand with 'humph' as he channeled his mana into his hand.

In a moment, Leo's hand was covered with a sharp frost. The frost was so menacingly chill that the air around his hand was condensing.

"Leo's frost magic has become stronger." Cristiano and Kylian mumbled as they watched in anticipation.

In front of them was their brother using his magic to punish a talentless trash.

It could be said that bullying Arthur was the most entertaining moment of their lives.

Leo smiled as the air condensed into blades that were rising on the fingers of his hand.

"Frost Claw." Leo mumbled as he slowly approached Arthur.

On the other hand, Arthur could feel a chill approaching his back.

The back which had been quite well massaged by the triplets was already hot because of the barrage of kicks. Because of the chill, Arthur was getting a tingling feeling along with the approaching chill.

Till now, Arthur had been taking the bullying head-on without cowering in fear, but he couldn't help it anymore.

Maybe it was because of his weight which caused him to have a greater surface area of skin or maybe it was years-long beating, but for Arthur, the tingling feeling kept on increasing.

"I can't help it." Arthur mumbled through his clenched teeth before opening his mouth.

"Hahaha." He laughed endlessly as though Leo was tickling his belly, till the moment when Leo's frost claw crashed hard in Arthur's back.

"Gah!" With a painful moan, Arthur squirmed as he tried to turn and move away.

"Psychopaths." Arthur cursed while getting up as Leo relentlessly moved forward with a devilish smile.

While Leo was pushing Arthur to his limits, a girl appeared in the hall and ran at Leo with a flying kick.

"Are you bullying Arthur again?" Her voice was loud but what echoed louder was her kick. Her foot landed right on Leo's face before he was sent flying like a ragdoll.
