Before we start, I know...there's too much romance, but I promise the next chapter will be about graduation and there won't be any romance for a while after that. So I wrote this one for the road! Have fun!

--

Inoichi walked Ino to the door and gave me a stern warning "Bring her by 8 in the evening and no funny stuff, you hear me?"

"I hear you loud and clear, Father-in-law." I stood in attention and saluted.

"Don't call me that you little twat." Inoichi boiled in anger, "Just because my princess is blind temporarily, it doesn't mean you will get together for life."

"Wow, so uncalled for, Father-in-law. This broke my tender heart." I held my chest as I gave Ino a puppy look.

"Cut the crap both of you." Ino stomped on the ground, "Dad! Stop embarrassing me. And Kou, I swear I will cancel if you act like a spoiled kid."

"Princess, why are you calling him with adornment?" Inoichi was shot by imaginary arrows, pierced through his heart.

"That is enough, dear." A woman walked from inside, as she pinched Inoichi's waist.

"Aw, aw!" Inoichi cried as Ino's mother, Ima smiled at me, "Koushin-chan, you are welcome to dinner after your little date."

"I sure will, Mother-in-law." I smiled much to the old lady's amusement.

"Have fun kids. Don't worry, I will make sure this stinky old man doesn't follow you."

"You are the best, Mother-in-law, I don't want shurikens to rain down on me while I kiss, Pumpkin-chan." I shouted from afar with Ino's hands in mine.

Ino giggled at my silly remark as we walked down the street, her fingers tightly interlocked with mine. It was a warm summer evening, and the sun had just begun to set, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink.

"So, where are we going?" Ino asked, breaking the comfortable silence.

"It's a surprise," I replied, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. "But don't worry, it's not too far away."

As we walked, Ino began to tell me about her day. She had spent most of it training with her father, but they had managed to squeeze in some time for her to work on her flower arrangements with Ima, which she loved doing in her free time. She even explained in detail! how it turned out.

"That's amazing, Ino," I said, 'genuinely' impressed. "You're so talented."

Ino smiled, and her cheeks turned a light shade of pink. "Thanks, Kou. I'm glad you think so."

We arrived at a small park that was tucked away between two buildings. It was a quiet, peaceful spot I discovered while wandering around the village, with a small pond in the center and a bridge that spanned across it. I had brought a picnic blanket and a basket filled with food, and I spread the blanket out on the grass, motioning for Ino to sit down.

"I hope you like cherry tomatoes with light green salad and puddings.," I said, pulling out a tray of assorted bowls from the basket.

Ino's eyes lit up. "I love cherries and pudding! How did you know?"

"I have my ways," I said with a wink, passing her a pair of chopsticks.

We talked and laughed as we ate, enjoying each other's company. "I want to become a strong kunoichi, but I believe my talent is limited."

"Stop that right now, missy!" I said assertively. Ino was taken aback. "I don't care what you think, but I know you are talented. You can doubt yourself all you want, but you cannot doubt my omni-observations! I said you are talented, and if you say you are not, it means you don't believe me!"

"Kou!" She was mad, amused and emotional all at once as she looked at me. "You are a big arrogant jerk, you know that?"

"Woman, I just said omni-observation! Of course I know I am one hansem, arrogant, amazing, one of a kind jerk!"

"You know, I'm really glad we're doing this," Ino said after a hearty giggle, her gaze fixed on the pond.

I nodded in agreement, placing my arm around her and pulled her to my chest. Man, I don't know why, but it feels good to have your partner in this position. I don't care if you are into dicks or chicks, but wrapping your loved one and pulling them to your chest hits different.

As the night drew to a close, I walked Ino back to her house, the moon casting a soft glow over us. It looked kinda romantic not gonna lie, "So, Ino, have I ever told you about this funny jester and his girlfriend?"

"You have a girlfriend?" Ino said with a mock shock on her dainty face.

"Haha!" I laughed dryly but secretly impressed, "Anway, this guy, Sokka, fell in love with this woman from a tribe far from his. The girl was sick when she was really small so her father begged the moon spirit to bless her and in the end, she got better but her hair turned all white.

He was just a common boy whereas the girl was princess of the tribe, but the guy was a brave warrior, and in the end he won the heart of the girl. But as they started to open up to each other, the tribe was attacked by a really strong country, and the avatar of the moon spirit was injured. The avatar was key to balance so the girl sacrificed her life to heal the avatar and became the moon."

"What a shitty story is this Koushin?" Ino asked as she let go of my hand.

"You take that back!" I said while looking at her offended.

"I mean why are you telling me this now?" Ino asked with anger in her eyes.

"You are yin. You are the moon. So, if the day comes and balance is at stake, and the world is about to be destroyed, screw the moon, screw the balance and screw the world. Because if you sacrifice yourself, I will bring you back and be very angry, okay?"

"Oh." Ino said as she was taken aback as a red hue climbed up to her face "Ohh."

"Yeah. No one is more important than you." I looked at her eyes.

We walked a little longer and soon we were at the door of her house.

"I had a great time, Kou," Ino said, turning to face me. "Thank you for tonight."

"Anytime, Ino," I replied, "I hope we can do it again soon."

Ino smiled, and before I could say anything else, she leaned in and pressed her lips to my cheek in a soft, sweet kiss. It was brief, sadly and on the cheek, again sadly.

"I'll see you soon," Ino whispered before turning and disappearing inside her house.

"Sooner than you expect. Did you forget I am invited to dinner." I chuckled and walked in. "It is going to be an awkward dinner."
