The Beginning
(Authors Note: This is the first novel I am writing, I have been writing this for over a year now so I'll post it here, if you have any questions please comment them and I'll try my best to answer them, also criticism is welcomed as well)
My name is Max, I live in a decent neighborhood with my adoptive parents and a childhood friend of mine. The neighborhood I live in a bit wierd but it's nice as long as people don't go outside during the dark, people disappear for some reason at that time. Right now I'm at home playing some games.
Mom: Get off the games sweetie, dinner is ready!
Max: Give me a moment.
I turn of the TV and goes to the dinning room and sits down, mom comes with a bowl of spaghetti and puts it on the table.
Max: were is dad?
Mom: he is at work again, he won't be back till morning.
Max: But dad said I was going to get to play with him today!
Mom: Don't worry, I bet dad will play with u tomorrow.
Max: I hope so, I haven't been able to play with him in weeks
Suddenly there was a knock on the door.
Mom: Max, can u see who it was?
Max: Fine.
Max goes to the door and sees through the peephole and sees it's his childhood friend, Aria.
Max opens the door quickly.
Max: Aria! What are u doing outside after dark!
Aria: you didn't call me or tried to see me so I was worried.
Max: But you know that staying outside after dark will get you in danger!
Aria starts to cry and mom comes to see what is wrong.
Mom: Max! Why is Aria crying?!
Max: But mom! she was outside after dark!
Mom: That doesn't mean you can make her cry! You know what, since she can't go home tonight, she will sleep in your bed!
Aria stopped crying and started to smile.
Max: Were will I sleep?
Mom: With her or on the floor.
Max: I'll sleep on the floor
Aria started to cry.
Max: Ok!, I'll sleep with her.
Aria smiled a lot bigger than last time.
Aria: oh, I almost forgot, we have no school anymore.
Mom & Max: Why?!
Aria: Don't know, but what from I heard, there school disappeared and there is a temple in its place.
