1 1 ~ Welcome Back

"Did you hear? Dame Stone is coming back from the war!"

"Really?! I hope I'm able to see her ride past!"

The kingdom of Femelle was abuzz. News that the 20 year long war was now over reached the ears of the people last week, but today was the day that they welcome home the knights that fought so hard to claim victory. To celebrate, the kingdom was holding a 3 day long celebration. The first being tomorrow.

Far off, trumpets and drums started to sound, signifying the entrance of the knights into town. This caused an uproar by the people excited to see the women ride their steeds toward the castle. People outside rushed to line the streets, and those in doors rushed to their highest window to ensure the best view.

Soon enough, the knights came into view. Leading them was Dame Knight Gabriella Stone. The one who was said to be responsible for the victory of the war.

"Congratulations!"

"Thank you!"

And other kind words were yelled out by the people towards the knights to show their gratitude. Those who we courageous enough, took the chance to run up to the knights to hand them gifts of flowers, letters, or food.

When the knights reached the castle, a man came out to walk them into a room to wait and prepare themselves to meet King Leonardo Sharpe.

"Keep yourself hydrated and rest, we have been traveling for a while. I want everyone to be refreshed when they go home and see their family," Commander Dame Stone spoke up and the attention of everyone in the room was given to her.

As she sat down, Dame Yulle, Gabriella's right hand woman handed her some water. "Commander, you should also heed your own words."

"Thank you Yulle, but give the water to the everyone else first. I will drink after everyone has had their share." It was acts like these that made Commander Stone so well respected and admired.

Before Gabriella could drink some water, the man who greeted them before entered the room. "Dame Commander Stone, His Highness is ready to see you and the other knights now."

Gabriella responded with a curt nod. Towards her fellow knights she made a swift flicking motion of her hand, signifying "come along". The man was surprised to see that a small gesture could command everyone to stand up and come towards where he and Dame Stone was standing.

"Lead the way." Gabriella was known for a woman of little words and when she spoke it was succinct and to the point.

The knights walked in and ordered, rectangular formation and synced their gait as they followed the man. Their march-like walk made it sound like an armored giant walking through halls of the castle. They stopped in front a grand pair of doors with gold plated carvings etched into it, telling the origin story of the kingdom Femelle. Opening the door revealed a large open room. On the other side of the room, on a podium, sat the king in a large red and gold chair.

Gabriella stood out from the rows of knights behind her and all at once they greeted His Highness.

"Welcome back, Dame Stone and everyone else." King Leonardo's deep voice rung out in an emotionless tone.
