Amara ran through the secret underground tunnels in concealed by the darkness and her deep blue hooded cloak. She whipped her head around sending her strawberry blonde curls flying. There he was, still following behind at a distance of several feet. He had a nicely sculpted face with high cheek bones and deep set green eyes. His black hair matted against his forehead with rain. He was a bit older than Amara. She had just turned 21. Daveen had always been there for her, and he was proving how worthy of a friend he was helping her get out of here.

"Keep pushing forward, don't look back!" Daveen yelled at her. Amara ran as fast as she could. She reached a solid wall not long after and frantically felt it for some clue. Daveen caught up with her and expertly jabbed his finger into a small divet along the rock. It easily slid open and he pushed her through while squeezing in behind her. Amara panted catching her breath in the dark as Daveen held her shoulders protectively. A distant sound of boots on the wet cave floors came and Daveen put his hand over her mouth to quiet her frantic breath. "Shhhh! They can't find us now, or it's over! We're in no position to fight them all off." His deep voice was quiet and urgent for good reason. All of the castle guards were in pursuit. Amara turned to him looking up at him with her gentle hazel eyes. Daveen could see her worried expression and hugged her for comfort. "Don't worry, we're almost there." He assured her. A little more calm crept over her for a minute in his arms and she leaned her forehead into his shoulder as the thundering boots got nearer.
