Meeting in the Cover of Night

(Ashley's POV)

"Ashley, is that you?" a female voice called out. Alexis, my older sister, came around the corner. "Where have you been all night?" I stared at her like I lost my mind. "Ashley it's two in the morning."

The look on my face must have shown that I had no idea. "I was with Sam all night. We were in the forest behind the park. Don't give me that look. I am seventeen now. I know what is right and wrong. Besides Sam is the type of person that would never do those kinds of things."

She looked at me like she didn't believe me, but she didn't say anything. "Just make sure you're home at a dissent hour next time." Then she walked off. Well that went better than expected.

Walking up the stairs, my body started giving out after all the things today. I forced myself to at least make it to my bed before I gave out completely. Before I passed out, I thought of Star in hope to see him sometime soon.

(Sam POV)

Once I left Ashley, I stayed near the house. Not knowing if those idiots will try and get to her. It was only a half hour later that I heard Ashley's thoughts

"I wonder when I will see Star." Then her mind went completely dark.

Worried that something might have slipped past me, I rushed over to her window. I sighed. She was just sleeping. My body slid against the house. This day has been crazy. I never would have thought that I would have bonded and with Ashley too. Every person wants a bond. Nothing was more precious.

Father and Mother met through bonding. And they are still together. Though there was nothing that could be done anyway.

Involuntarily thinking about my parents caused me to transform. I stole a glance in the window to see if Ashley was waking. She was still curled up under her blankets. Landing on my paws, I cried out as my heart took the time to settle.

The sound of the window sliding open forced my golden eyes to look into the deep brown ones staring back at me.

Ashley, my mind whispered.

The look in her eyes caused me to back up. Ashley reached out her hand waiting for me. My body moved closer to her. We both gave out a long sigh when our bodies touched. The feel of her hand messaging my ears was heaven. A growl like rumble emerged through my mother in pleasure.

I could not understand how she could bother touching me in this form. But as long as she could stand being near me, I had no problem with it. I looked up to see her lips moving.

"I am sorry. Can you please repeat that?" my mind spoke to her.

She smiled. "What brings you here so late in the night?"

It took me a minute to think of something to say to her. Ashley's hand was just so distracting. "I am sorry. I was flying by and I just wanted to make sure that you were doing all right with everything that happened tonight."

She smiled further. "You are so sweet Star. Everything is fine. I know we had a rocky start, but thank you for saving my life tonight." She glanced down at the star shape on my chest, which I have been named.

"You know that I will do anything for you. So if you need anything at all do not hesitate to summon me."

"Thank you Star. You have a safe trip home. I will see you soon."

"Good night Ashley." I whispered to her, backing away. I waited until she closed and locked the window before flying back to my house.
