These little creatures, the fireflies that emerged from the bracelet that she was wearing, were still a mystery to her.
And now Hazel saw them again. There were around a dozen fireflies, flying around her and trying to get her attention, as they flew toward the window, as if asking her to follow them.
"Hazel, I know you are upset with me, but you have to know that I love you. You are my daughter." Ella didn't dare to come closer to Hazel because of her warning earlier, but her voice was full of sadness because Hazel had never been so harsh like this to her before.
It was understandable because around this time, Hazel was nothing, but a doormat. When she was still at school, she would follow whatever they told her to do in order to get on their good side and earn their love or a little bit of affection.
