"Do not allow Wang Hualing in this household or anywhere near Li Luxian." Chen Yi said slowly.

Li Fu Tong smiled faintly; there was amusement in his eyes. "Wang family had been our allies for generations. On the other hand, you have just gotten married into this household just yesterday and you put forth such a bold demand. Aren't you afraid a little bit?"

"Why would I need to be afraid to demand my right." Chen Yi understood the character of this grandfather. She realized that only by acting strong and fearless, she could win his favor. Oh, well, she was going to exploit that realization and win this grandfather. "I am married to Li Luxian and grandfather is willing to provide me a chance. That is enough for me not to be afraid."

"However you overestimate yourself. Yes, I am willing to give you a chance but on the premise, you don't disappoint me. And if you don't want to disappoint me, you should have the ability to fight Li Luxian suitors on your own rather than relying on me. I won't interfere or help you in any way."

"That's exactly what I asked for." Chen Yi smiled. So grandfather wanted to test her, huh? Chen Yi couldn't blame him for that. If a shallow or stupid woman became Li Luxian wife, she would bring great harm to him and the Li family.

So grandfather was only right to be wanting to test her.

"You asked me not to interfere. So you thought I was going to help Wang Hualing against you?" Li Fu Tong laughed again. "Absurd. When I said I would give you a chance, why would I help her against you?" This girl amazed him. For a moment he thought she was asking for help. But she wanted him not to interfere so she could fight without any restraint.

Li Fu Tong liked her personality.

"Just wanted to confirm grandfather." Chen Yi shrugged and so the conversation ended.

After dinner, Chen Yi went back to her room. She had just entered when Li Luxian grabbed her and pushed her against the wall. Her heart leaped for a second.

"What happened?" Chen Yi looked into his eyes. She was baffled. That man would never stop making her heart beat like crazy.

With the confused gleam in her chocolate brown eyes, she looked particularly alluring. Her gorgeous looks never failed to amaze Li Luxian. He rolled a strand of her hair around his finger. "So you just asked my grandfather to not let Wang Hualing near me. Should I assume you were jealous?"

"I what?!" Chen Yi glared at him and pushed him off her. "Don't flatter yourself."

But she had just taken a couple of steps when he hugged her from her behind. She was startled.

"You do not need to be jealous of her. You know that I cherish you a hundred times more than her." His voice was sincere. But the next time, it held a tinge of mischief. "Though I can't deny the fact I felt a little happy to see you jealous of someone for me."

He expected her to lash at him. But Chen Yi didn't say anything.

"Yi'er?" Li Luxian felt something was not right.

"I heard that all your family had been quite close to Wang Hualing." Her voice was low.

Li Luxian detected the uncertainty in her tone. "Who told you that?" Li Luxian quickly let go of her, spun her and made her face him. He held her shoulders and directly looked into her eyes. He wanted her to see the sincerity in his eyes.

"Li Yuan." Chen Yi flatly said.

"That bastard!"

"You do not need to blame him. All he did was to tell the truth." Chen Yi tried to hide the sadness in her eyes. "I know that the Wang family had a long history with you. And you must have been close to her since childhood. Besides out marriage is merely a contract marriage. I shouldn't be asking this but-"

Li Luxian shut her up with a kiss.
