Shot

I saw Mael giving shot to Viki again. "Enough Mael, please stop giving drink to Viki she's drunk already." I told him un reprimanding manner.

" She asked for it. I just want her to enjoy the night." Vikki indeed give me a begging look for that shot but instead of giving it to her I took the shot for myself. " No more alcohol for me or for my cousins please." I warned Mael and the other men that hand my cousins a shot. I am a little dizzy myself. I told my cousins that we have to go. I gave Maya and Mael a sign that we have to leave. The girls just don't want to leave yet, they said its too early to leave. They took more food. While I stand up to get some air. I look around the garden its just beside the courtyard where we dance. Maya came to see if I like a flower or a plant on their garden. She picked some Roses for me. I took them happily. "Thanks Maya I really enjoyed your hospitality. I never imagined you will be this nice. I sincerely wanna hug you for this warm welcome you gave us." I told her sincerely. " The pleasure is mine. I can't believe there is a brilliant fun woman exist on this kingdom like you. It's such an honor to meet you. It is so smart of my brother to invite you on this party. But I warn you don't go yet father haven't meet you yet and you haven't given your greetings to the person celebrating the birthday." She said trying to hold me back some more." Your right, we better go to the celebrant now before the night gets deeper." Maya then hold my hand like a kid holding her friend's hand. He called her brother to asked where is their father. Mael came to guide us to their father. He is at the second floor of the house. That is where the old officials are gathering separated from the young ones. They have their own group and their own topic in here. "Father." Said Mael. "I want you to meet Sol daugther old Captain, her 2 brothers are included on the King's guard." The old man reach out to me. I know him because he is a famous scholar. They are family of teachers and he is advisor to the King. " Nice to meet you Sol. I heard so much about you." I answered his hand. He kissed my hand as a greeting. He was a collegue to my father when my father was still the Captain of the King's army. Now my father retired and manage the land the king gifted to our family. That made my father one of the the biggest producer of the kingdom's food source ( food, vegetables and livestock)also the one giving the kingdom the biggest tax. " Please enjoy our humble abode. Maya, Mael entertain the guests properly." He commanded his two kids. " I came to greet you "Happy birthday Sir! I wish you a long life." I told him sincerely. " Thank you!" He answered. I told him too that we are about to leave soon since it's getting late and he smile as an approval. I greeted the other officials too around the celebrant also their wives. The we walked back down. The royalties are not around. This is a small party and not so political, no wonder even the Prince is not around besides I heard they've been to the party last cosecutive years. Only now they are absent since the palace is busy with incoming events. As I walked down the house I told my cousins again that we have to go. I bid goodbye to the group already, they want us to stay some more but I insisted to go I told them I will be waiting by the carriage. I walk with my flowers while waving to the group the 3 are having a hard time to go since they don't wanna leave in the first place. Maya walked with me. As she arruved by the carriage she asked the horseman to eat first delaying things even more. "Sol wait I need to pack some food for your brothers and alcohol for your father besides let Manong eat as well." Maya insisted. I can't stop her she's quite firm on what she wants to do. I saw Mael went to my direction he will convince me to stay I think. "Hey! Are you ok?" He asked with concern. "Yeah! We just have to go since Vi is already dizzy. Besides you have other guests to attend to. Don't mind us too much." I explained to him. His eyes are estimating me white I look away to ease the awkwardness. " Did you had fun atleast coz for sure your cousins did. Hehehe They don't wanna leave. They asked me to convince you to stay for 1 more hour!" Mael is like a puppy asking for a favor. I know for sure he will ignore me again tomorrow and treat me coldly. He is just doing this to act cool among his peers. "It was fun. Thanks for inviting us. Your sister Maya is so sweet. Your whole family is so warm and accomodating. We will visit again on the next occassion if you will invite us. But that's it for us tonight. Vi needs someone to stop her when she's like this getting out of control. I hope you wouldn't mind us leaving early. Don't act coldly to me next time you see me." I told him frankly. "I will mind. I will act coldly again, last time you promised me a dance but you never did. Now, I'm begging you to stay but you don't seem to care. I have no power over you. I feel hurt of how little my influence is to you. You had your time with my sister but never with me. Tsk tsk tsk..." He made a dismayed face while looking directly at me. "If dance is what you want we can dance here. After that do you promise not to guilt trip me over leaving early?" I offered Mael a deal which he accepted with a smile. "Sure." We dance beside the carriage in the middle of the rocky road. It was funny how disperate he asked me for it but Mael is a very bad dancer. I looked at him to see if he realize how bad of a dancer he is. I step on his foot twice. Good thing the music is slow if not I will definite murder his toes. "Im sorry I steped on you, its your fault you're on a wrong place." I made fun of him. " Really so its my fault you steped on me. I can feel my toes are dying right now. That's your fault not mine." He smile at me finally I guess he is no longer mad at me. I hope he won't be cold anymore when he visit the library. "You need to practice dancing more with your sister so you know where is the right place to stand and turn." I told him like a teacher. "I want you to teach me. My sister is boring. I enjoy dancing with you more." Mael stare is so direct he seemed to be happy now. Then I'm happy too he won't bully me anymore next time we meet. "I can teach you as long us you won't treat me coldly anymore. Do you promise that? Do you promise to be friends again?" I stare straight at him to make sure we understand each other clearly. He nodded back with a smile. "I promise."
