Kiss From Death

Death itself was a God. A dark God believed to be responsible for all misfortunes, seeks vengeance from its counterpart, the famous Goddess herself, Life. A single but forbidden kiss thousands of years ago between both Gods, the price of that kiss was paid by their favorite creation; mankind. Sea monsters, the dark hole, and other abominations crawled out from their sleep to eat and destroy whatever Life and Death created. While Life remained seated on her high throne obsessing over the attention she was getting from her creation, Death walked the earth fighting monsters, answering the prayers never dedicated to him in secret, and growing his powers to destroy Life and restore what was stolen from him. What he didn't expect was to be attached to a human who aroused his interest and had the same face as his nemesis.

Item Six

The theme for the wedding was an outdoor party. Her friends, business partners were all invited, including demons and most of Lucifer's friends.

The bride was ready and all dolled up in the dressing room. Her mother made sure everything about her daughter was perfect even though she brought someone overnight that she wants to get married to. That doesn't matter as long as her daughter is happy with him and wants him. She has always been very supportive of her decisions.

"There, you are ready to go."

Ae-cha checked herself out in the floor length mirror smiling. She chose a simple white gown with a little diamond tiara on her head. She turned to her mom and smiled saying, "Mom, how do I look? Do I look like a princess?"

Her mom nodded pulling her daughter into a tight hug followed by multiple kisses on her forehead. "You are gorgeous. Take your time, when you're ready to come out I'll come and lead you down the aisle."

She nodded as she watched her mother leave. She stared at the mirror once again feeling like the happiest woman on earth. Suddenly, she could see the woman she was in her past life in her shoes congratulating her.

"So, how do we look? We look perfect, right? We are finally getting married to him."

There was a knock at the door of her dressing room. She turned around as Kim walked him looking like he has been crying for hours, no, days. She thought he would be so mad at her not to attend her wedding.

He blinked when he saw her in her wedding dress and fell on his knees to start bawling his eyes out like a baby. Ae-cha sighed at him being so dramatic. She also fell on her knees giving light pats on his shoulders to comfort him.

"I will replace him the moment he doesn't treat you right." He sobbed out as tears stream down his messy cheeks.

She nodded trying to be hopeful even when that will never happen.

"It should have been me!"

She rolled her eyes frowning at him. "Kim, what exactly is your problem? Get a grip on yourself and move on. We both know that deep down I only saw you as a friend. A good one. Stop crying, I don't want any ugly face on my wedding pictures." She rose to her feet and shook her head when he wouldn't stop crying.

"Hey! Do you want to ruin our picture together?"

Her mother came in and told her it was time. She told her mother that she would be coming out now.

"I will kill you if you come out there sobbing like a big baby." She threatened before walking out of the room to meet her mom waiting for her. Her mom handed her bridal flower to her and adjusted what needs to be adjusted in her dress.

"Are you ready?"

"Yes!"

"Ladies and gentlemen," Everyone stopped moving around and talking to each other. "The bride."

She stood at the end of the aisle as the sun shone brightly on her. She glanced at her mother again who urged her to go even though she suddenly was feeling nervous.

At the middle of the aisle, she saw herself standing and waiting for her to make their dreams come true. She stood there staring at Ha-Yun who wouldn't stop giving her a proud smile.

Seeing her stand there with her hands stretched towards her urging her to come forward, made her to remember something.

Another sweet memory.

[FLASHBACK]

"Yes." She answered as they took their seats and waited for more people to enter and fall in their respective seats. "I wrote it down and gave it to you. Item number five?" She said with strong emphasis trying to jog up his memories.

"Ah, the to-do list." Death remembered causing her to nod her head in agreement. "But we've only done three together. Why jump straight to number five?"

"I made a mistake. The way I pictured it, number five should come before number four. I want us to do number four last, okay?"

"Okay. Anything you want." Death said while adjusting the strawberry colored head warmer on her head. He makes sure she wears them properly to keep her warm.

"Tell me, my love," Ha-Yun laughed at the nickname they've started calling each other. "What's going to happen to us after achieving all the fun things on your to-do-list?"

Ha-Yun grinned mischievously. We are going to get married. She looked at him and teased, "I don't know. What do you think? Finally getting to kill you after several threats?"

[END OF FLASHBACK]

She began to walk down the aisle without wasting any moment, merging with the phantom figure of her old self along the way as people rose to their feet to give her a standing ovation.

She saw Damon and smiled as the devil raised a glass of red wine to her. Looking gorgeous as usual. Her mom kept clapping giving her a thumbs up, and she saw Kim still sobbing on one of his friends shoulders.

She shook her head in irritation and finally…him.

Her heart almost exploded out of her chest at the sight of him. Every woman in her wedding must be so jealous of her. His eyes fixed on her as she climbed the three small steps to him.

What was he thinking to make him smile at me so much?

The applause died down the moment she presented herself before him. Two rings were given to them.

Her heart has never been so happy before when he took her hand and pushed the ring softly down her middle finger. The applause continued when she did the same for him as well and got louder when he leaned close to claim her lips and declare her his.

"Ladies and gentlemen, by the power given to me, they are now husband and wife!"

The applause felt like it will never end. They turned to face the crowd as they hold hands to show off their union.

She decided to let him know. "This is item six, in case you're wondering." She whispered so close to his ear.

Life turned to her with a sparkle in his eyes, "I already know."

Ae-cha stared at him with surprise, wondering how he knew.

"Also, I have a surprise for you."

She held him tighter not expecting him to prepare something for her. She saw him nod to someone in the crowd.

A woman in her late sixties, dressed in a blue corporate dress, her hair pinned down to the back into a neat bun and the smile on her face seemed so familiar.

She looked so familiar that it triggered her eyes to water turning to her husband to see if this is real.

He nodded at her that this was real.

The woman stood at the bottom of the three stairs, raising her hands to clap for her. Ae-cha didn't waste a second as she let go of her husband's hands, running down the stairs to give the woman a tight hug gasping in disbelief.

In-hae wrapped her arms around her long, lost friend as tears trickled down her face too.

Ae-cha's face became red as she cried, hugging her friend like never before. When she left home to die, she thought she would never get to see her again.

They pulled away after being pressed to each other for a long time, crying. In-hae cupped her cheeks and she was so happy.

"I thought he was mocking me when he said he was going to bring you back to me."

More tears of joy stream down her cheeks as she held her hands on her cheeks.

"Don't ever do that to me again, okay?"

Ae-cha nodded before they shared another warm embrace gathering an applause from the guest.

An hour later, they all gathered round the bride and the groom to take several pictures.

The first was with the whole guest in attendance. The second was with her precious mother and some of her extended family that came. The third was with the devil, who gave her her wedding gift, and she hoped it wasn't something mysterious again.

The fourth picture was with her lovely In-hae. Who wouldn't stop hugging her and thankful that she is alive again. The fifth was with Damon and Do-Min Ji.

The sixth was with some of her work friends, the seventh was with her business partners and schoolmates. The eight was with Kim who she dared to spoil her wedding pic with his puffy eyes and runny nose.

"I will kill you if this turns out bad," she threatened with a smile as the drone took a picture of them.

The final one was with her husband. They took several shots with him.

"So, how do you feel to be mine?" She asked as he wrapped an arm around her waist from behind, placing his head on her shoulders. "Do you still want to run away?"

Her husband chuckled while kissing her neck bringing another smile to her lips.

"All I can say is that, you've won. I am staying with you."

"Forever?"

The drone positioned itself at angel before them.

"Yes, My love."

They both smiled as it captured that moment.
