05: Birthday Gift.

Abigail and Abdallah, went into the CEO's office, the man glared at them before asking "where were the both of you?" He questioned like a father scolding his son for bringing a girl home, legs crossed as he leaned back in his chair.

"On...on break sir" Abigail lied, the man only chuckled before sliding two envelopes with their names on it. They picked it up and both of them fell into shock , their eyes widen in unison , abigail had her mouth open and close like a fish.

"Now you may take all the break you want" The man said before getting up to leave when..

"Hold on sir, wh...what is this?" Abdallah asked, as sweat drops formed on his forehead 'DISMISSAL NOTE?' he was fired?!! But why, he hasn't done anything wrong right? Or have they found out about him and Abigail, He turned and Abigail was already looking at him, she probably has the same thoughts as him.

"Can't you read? Please leave this instant!" The man yelled clearly disgusted by the two of them. He took a deep breath, opened the door and gestured for them to get out, as he was tired of seeing their shameless faces.

"But sir-" Abigail tried to reason, but the man wasn't interested "i said get out!!"

And they solemnly walked out with their heads low, they both went to Abdallah's office and he started punching walls and throwing things, Abigail tried to approach him, he was backing her, gripping the edges of his table,

"s...sir" she spoke softly afraid not to increase his anger.

"Leave!" Came his word, and Abi jolted, tears filled her eyes, his grip tightened he was breathing heavily, of course Abi knew he was already blaming her for all this, maybe someone saw them at the library, it couldn't be right?, right?!!

She approached him again "i...I'm sorry, i didn't do-" she couldn't continue , the man already gripped her and pinned to the wall with his hands ok on her throat.

He chuckled sardonically "you didn't do what huh? THIS. IS. ALL. YOUR. FAULT" He stressed out every word. Her eyes were hot with tears "I'm sorry" she choked when he released her, she quickly caught her breath, her hands clenched on her chest.

"Leave now!". He said again and she quickly scrammed out of there before she gets herself killed, she covered her mouth as she ran to the restroom, before she broke down. She knew something wasn't right today, she felt like she was being followed all of a sudden and this just proved it, because she and the man had been together for a maximum of two years already and no one had ever suspected, but today... Kira?.

....Kira was in her night wear already, eating dinner, the house was quiet as always, Rena sat across her at the table, staring at her friend waiting for her to break the eerie silence at last even if it's just one word, the silence was deafening!!!

"Have our flights booked for early morning " Kira said as she put the food in her mouth chewing like royalty with mannerism.

"Uhh OUR?" Rena asked confused, she isn't planning to bring her along is she?, she had better not!. "Mhh" kira replied and Rena groaned out in frustration, which she thought was an inner groan, Kira dropped the cup in her hand, looking at Rena with questioning look.

"you don't want to come?" Kira asked and Rena panicked and shook her head frantically

"no no, not that" she nervously said, well it's not like she didn't want to travel or anything it's s just that Kira usually leaves her at the hands of their aunt to help with everything while she just watches from the sidelines.

Kira was still waiting for an explanation, Rena sighed "it's nothing, hehe, you sometimes ditch me!" She flashed kira a smile, and the girl pout giving her the puppy eyes, Rena's eyes widened, she's doing it again using her cuteness as a weapon.

"I won't ditch you this time" kira kept pouting "i promise" she said with her fingers crossed under the table. Rena who already knows this friend of hers glared

"Let me see your hands then" kira rolled her eyes and showed all ten fingers "fine!" Rena agreed.

They set of the next morning, it was a three hour flight in which they got to Bridgestone a simple yet beautiful town in wisteria at Seven in the morning, Rena had already told the driver there to come pick them up, and he was already waiting "did you tell aunt we're coming ?" She asked the man and he shook his head.

"She's not aware i left the house" he told them before speeding through the town.

On their way they made quick stops as kira still hadn't gotten what to buy her dearest aunt, going into a gift shop they roamed about and still didn't see anything she could bring with her, "let's go to a bookstore" Kira said while Rena followed with no questions and the man drove there, it was a small cottage and after about 20 mins ..."lets go" kira spoke again,

Rena creased her brows, huh they are leaving already? "Uhm did you find what you're looking for?" She asked following the lady walking to the car.

"Not here either, lets just go home" she shrugged, she stepped into the car, Rena rubbed her palms and got in on the other side.

"So you want to go back empty handed?!" She asked not quite understanding what was going on in her friends head, kira just smiled. "Of course not" Kira giggled looking at Rena immediately understood

"No no, my gift is mine and mine alone" Rena exclaimed her voice filled with warnings, Kira rolled her eyes "tch i got her flowers and many more you'll see" that was a lie it was only flowers, nothing more and Kira knew her aunt would understand right?!

They got to the mansion and laila was sitting in the garden having snacks and reading a book, she heard the sound of the car that just drove in, she got up to see both sides of the door open and her eyes widened

"Aunt!!!" Rena yelled , she ran to hug her beloved aunty it felt like it's been years since they've seen each other, they embraced each other lovingly and tightly "argh I miss you a lot aunt and your cooking, that lady over there barely allows me to eat as much as i do here!" She whined, laila chuckled caressing her cheek like a sweet mother.

Her eyes moved to the beautiful figure standing and smiling, she moved slowly as if afraid she might disappear if she moves too fast "kira? It's really you?" Kira nodded and she pulled her into her embrace tightly "happy birthday aunt" Kira wished after she pulled out of the hug and handed her a bouquet of lilies, that was her aunt's favorite flowers.

"Oh my dear!, thank you" she wrapped her arms around the girl again "sorry i didn't know what to get you" Kira apologized amidst their hug and her aunt rubbed her hair in a soothing way.

"Hey, hey what about me?!" Rena exclaimed and laila opened her arm welcoming her as they grouped hugged. oh how she so miss this two opposite character. "Okay okay let's get you both settled in now" laila led them in and Rena kept talking on and on about how fantastic her own gift was.

After getting settled in, and enjoying the rest of the morning in the lounge , laila brought them snacks and drinks "so aunt any idea where you want to go or what to do, i mean c'mon do you want to sit here all day ON YOUR BIRTHDAY?!!!" Rena rattled and the two women stared blankly at her "come on! How about we go shopping?" She suggested thus they all went shopping, kira wanted to have the shop locked till they were done but Laila said she'd enjoy it more if it was around people. Kira agreed since it was her aunt's birthday of course she'll agree and tagged along like a right hand man, she didn't try anything, just Laila and of course Rena, all she did was nod and shake her head when they asked for suggestions.

When the ladies were done, twenty shopping bags later, they got into the car and the driver drove back towards the house, they made pits stops at ice cream shops that laila wanted and then at a bookstore that Kira had entered earlier that day, it was pretty late already and they were exhausted, so they finally decided to drive back home, when out of nowhere the car was hit badly and it tumbled crashing unto the bark of a tree.

The driver died instantly, Rena who sat in the passenger's seat had hit her head multiple times, meanwhile the two at the back, the same thing but Laila lost consciousness almost in the brink of death as the crash was from her side making the glass that shattered pierce through her body, Kira was awake but barely, she struggled to come out of the car dragging her aunt along. Someone had called the ambulance and sirens were approaching, people helped her get the driver and Rena out quickly since she was unconscious too. What in the world just happened?, it happened so fast. The moment they were out of the car fuel started leaking and the car caught fire.

The Ambulance arrived along with the firefighters to control the situation.
