Her younger brother dead and Cosette, the daughter of the Duke, smiling down on her with a commemorative crown on her head. She had tried to take it all; her love, her father, and finally when Cosette couldn't have her brother, she killed him. Revenge. Revenge. Revenge. Traveling back in time, Lumielle awakens when she's only twelve years old with a new chance to enact her revenge.

Peace

The room was silent as she looked around. There was a picture on his desk and without a modicum of hesitation, she peered around to see it. It was Ophelia, his wife, and attached to the picture was one of Asterias, smiling as a young child.

Lumielle disliked how the distance made her feel. It was disgustingly personal and as her fingers reached to touch the glass separated them before she pulled away. It felt invasive, once more she had ripped everything from Magnus.

But, she had kept him alive.

It was something she only knew. In her first life, he had been killed. Brought before Eldrige and executed as Asterias went to war and now, he was alive and Asterias had gone willingly. How upsetting. Fate seemed to want to meddle with her at every turn. Did she feel guilty?

Lumielle didn't want to ponder on it. She didn't want to think of it.

"Do you miss him?" Evangeline asked, "The Grand Duke Heir."
