"The thing is with Asterias. . ." 

Lumielle's heels clattered against the ground. 

"Princess! Stop running!" Evangeline yelled but Lumielle picked up the hem of her skirts to dash faster. What was happening? This wasn't something she had predicted. Why? Why was this happening? She felt breathless, her eyes pricking up with tears: frustration. Why had she failed? 

Asterias. 

Asterias. 

"Princess?" 

She looked upon him, bathed in the fading morning light. Dressed in armor, his blue eyes widened as he dropped his sword to welcome her. She stood still, soaking in the moment, before she was clasped into his arms. He looked breathless when she had been the one running, his arms wrapped around her. Lumielle stood frozen.
