"It scarred!" Veronica exclaimed, her hands touching Lumielle's and frowning, "How dare he?!" She exclaimed, "Scarring your hand! Does he not know how important it is?!" She had been ranting about this for the past hour as Lumielle let the older girl fuss over the scar on her hand. 

Luckily, her cheek hadn't bruised. She had already pulled sympathy from having the Emperor strike her. Lumielle didn't need that card. 

"Does it still hurt?" Yenna asked, her rounded blue eyes showing concern. 

Lumielle shook her head, "I was just surprised." 

Elise had stayed silent. It had been a while since they had all gathered together and Elise had been rather quiet since they were all here. Lumielle had invited her out of courtesy. They hadn't conversed since the two of them had talked about treason. She didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable. Lumielle exhaled, it had been a while since she had been concerned about how other people felt.
