"What do you mean?" Veronica asked, her lips pursed.

"The Princess is not taking any visitors," Sylvia responded, her words remaining the same as Veronica bit her lip. Lumielle had yet to respond to any of her letters and their daily correspondence had been reduced to none. The gates of the Emerald Palace which had been open had now been shut closed.

What was she so busy with?

"Will you tell her that I came to visit?" The older girl asked, "Yenna also wants to see her. . ." She trailed off as Sylvia nodded ushering the girl back into her carriage. From her room, Lumielle watched Veronica leave. She had been writing a letter to Lactia.

Should she just leave?

Lumielle had wondered if that was even possible. If she could just vanish from this country. The ink blotted the paper as she let out an exhale—she should focus on what was important. There was a knock on the door.
