Magnus was back from the North? She had heard that he had gone up to see his son. He quickly kneeled down, his blue eyes looking at the bruise on her cheek, "What happened? What is the meaning of this?!" He demanded, his eyes turning towards the guards. She could feel his anger growing.
Would it be alright to use him to her advantage? Why was Lumielle hesitating? Everyone was a pawn, but, this was the father of Asterias. She clamped her jaw, annoyed at her own indecisiveness.
"I have committed a grave error," Lumielle spoke, her words trembling as she touched the earrings his son had given her. She didn't have time to think, she needed to act. Already, her hesitation made her realize how foolish she was being. "Due to my own guilt, I acted recklessly in front of my father and Duchess De Saude. I am here to—"
