Final Boss: {Jackal}

They were all running with their animal companions and Grace said "What the hell was that?! That couldn't have been Jackal!". Blaze looked at her and said "He is literally a giant jackal! What more proof could you want?!". Autumn went next to them and said "We need to perform the ritual now! The energy dispersed from it should be enough to change him back!".

Back in all the blood soaked snow, Jackal was feasting on the corpse of Glacial. He then sniffed the air and with an enraged roar, went after the seasons.

.

The seasons all approached a large temple and went inside. "Okay, we all just have to send our power into the spots marked!" Autumn said. Grace went over to a large pillar with a snowflake next to it and said "What happens when we do?". Autumn flips through a book and says "Well, it'll take the combined power of all 4 seasons, and then we'll have to wait, once it's done processing everything, we'll get a large burst of power and everything will be fixed!".

Grace nodded, but before any power could be infused, a loud roar was heard. "Dante!" Blaze said running to check his dragon. When they all got outside, they saw their companions fighting Jackal. "We need to take him down, here, and now!" Grace said with Blaze taking out a war hammer.

{Jackal}

He roared. Jackal dug at the ground, and then dove into it. The seasons all got back to back, ready to fight. "Where is he?!" Laura asked. "Does anyone have eyes on him?!" Blaze yelled. From beneath the snow, purple flames burst up. These flames went directly towards them, forcing them to split up. Jackal came out the ground and Autumn said "Jack!".

Autumn ran over with his speed, and grabbed onto his face. "Come on man, don't you remember me?! What about all the fun we had when Grace wasn't looking?!". For some reason, the giant jackal thought about that. For a moment, Jackal's colors turned from that devious purple, back to his normal gray with black flames. He immediately switched back and shook him off.

When he looked up, the seasons were gone. Someone whistled, causing him to look up to see his father. "Down goes the Jackal!" He said summoning stone chains to hold him down. His father walked over to Grace and said "So, that's what happened?". All the seasons aimed their weapons at him and he said "Hold your horses! If I was here to fight, I would've let the boy eat you!".

Laura lowered her weapons and said "So what are you here for?". He sighed and said "I got word that Glacial and his army had been killed. So when I saw the giant paw prints, I realized that Elsa over here made my son reach a little something season shadows call, a Breaking Point.". They all looked confused and his father said "Let me explain.".

He stretched and reinforced the chains while saying "Every season shadow has this special darkness in them. As a side effect from not owning 1 specific season, we have something called a breaking point. When we experience too many negative emotions at once, and have too little control, we can become something like....". He gestured to Jackal and said "This.".

Grace covered her mouth in shock and Blaze said "My guess is you kicking him out and leaving him to rot pushed him over the edge.". His father groaned and he said "Oh for fucks- The boy is IN LOVE with you dip-shit! Are all seasons this love blind or just you? He knew he was sacrificing his potential freedom, and yet he still helped, and what do you do to thank him?! Throw him in a cell and call him a traitor. It's no wonder he wants to kill you all so bad!".

Jackal breaks out of the chains and his father says "Since I need to make up for a few things, I'm gonna buy you time to do your little ritual or whatever, just don't forget I'm helping you!". They run towards the temple as Jackal runs after them, until pale grey vines drag him back. "Sorry bud, but I can't have you hurting anyone else. Especially if those people are important to you, so how about me and you talk for a bit?".

Jackal jumped at him but the vines just slammed him on the ground. "That won't work either, me and you, we've done this dance before! You've grown so much, and yet.... Still so stupid.". Jackal roared at him and then said in a grim and distorted voice "I'll kill you all!". His father stared at him surprised and said "So the Jackal is capable of speech. Even better!".

"Puny shadow! I'll rip you peace by peace, and gnaw on bone after bone! Slow! Painful! That will be your death! Your inevitable demise!" He said growling. "The only thing inevitable is your bad breath!". The jackal jumped at him, the season shadow just moving out the way. "I'll destroy you!" The jackal said leaping at him again. An explosive arrow hit him on his side and he fell to the ground.

"Nice shot!". Grace readied her bow and said "We need to keep him away from the temple. Can you hold him down again? I have an idea!". Jackal slowly rose up and was then tied down by vines, and Grace stood, about 20 feet in front of him. "Release the vines.". Jackal was released, but before he could touch her, Grace used her power and trapped his body in ice.

She went up to him and said "Jack.... I'm sorry, but no matter how much I think about it, you still betrayed my trust!". The Jackal just laughed and said "Do you really think that I betrayed you?". Grace looked puzzled and said "What's that supposed to mean?!". Jackal laughed once more and said "The boy is hurting, bad. I am merely the embodiment of his darkness!".

Everyone listened as he spoke. "Ever since that day on the mountain, he's always been so scared of you finding out the truth. You think you know, don't you? But you don't! Project Icebreaker was meant to be our time! He could have killed you, any given moment, but he did not. Even after all that, you still choose to believe your own truth, instead of the one right in front of you, and THAT.... Is true betrayal.".

Grace stood there shocked at the truth of his words. "So now then, tell me Princess of Winter.... I may believe your apology.... But will he?". Steam comes off of the Jackal as it starts to shrink back down. Jack is left in its place as he crawls out of the ice. Jack looks up at her and says "So, you finally trust me enough?".
