Chapter 9: Ei Sei

246 B.C.

Kyou En's Pov: 

I am currently in my city Sai, spending some family time with Rei and Yi since I have just come back from war and want to relax for a bit.... Something that is hard to do during these times.

"The units gotten pretty strong now huh brother?" Said Yi who was smiling.

"Mhm... They have really gotten pretty strong... Especially my core unit.... Their strengths are incredible." I said while smiling as well... joyous that our progress is going well..... However seemed like someone wasn't happy as I felt a stare which made me tremble a bit....

".... Are you really talking about work when your here...?" Said Rei with a smile.... That also wasn't a smile.

"Hahaha..... You seem extremely pretty today Rei...." I said trying to change the subject.... Although I got slapped in return.... Yi was also looking at me wondering how I can be so bad with women.... which made me tear up a little....

"Anyways Rei.... How do you think of this city? You've only been in here for a few months..... Is it to your liking?" I said to her while grabbing her hand and walking to the front looking down at the city.... We've actually spent most of our time since marriage in her families home as her family wanted to know me better and also improve our relationships.

"Mhm it's beautiful.... Although seems to be lacking a bit.... Probably because their lord is an idiot." Said Rei who tried to tease me..

"Hahahahaha... Fear not Rei.... I will do my best to make this city even more beautiful.... Right Advisor Rai Ki?" I laughed loudly and said before looking at my Advisor.

"Yes My Lord.... We have already started preparing many business that seem to have potential according to you and also some popular things that might attract people to come here like Public Baths..." Said my Advisor.... Who as usual did a good job on starting projects that I've asked him to do like the public baths.... Something that was also popular in my past life.... 

Anyways... Now I just want to enjoy my time with Rei..... I thought.

1 Month Later.....

Kyou En's Pov:

"What's wrong Rei...???? Are you fine? What happened?" I asked while looking at my wife who seemed incredibly worried...

"Actually... It's about my brother..." Said Rei, before I realized that it was probably an important topic, so I took her to a private location before she told me how her Brother - who is part of King Ei Sei's faction is having an incredibly hard time. This is due to Ketsu Shi's faction serving Prince Sei Kyou.... There are even rumors here in Sai that a rebel might be having soon....

So it's gotten that bad huh.... I thought while looking at Rei and opened my mouth "However there must also be something else right?" I asked since the face she showed before wasn't normal... and even now... She was fidgeting.

"Yes.... It seems like Prince Sei Kyou is being more forceful and some of the people in King Ei Sei's faction have been missing and found dead recently....My brother asked me if I could get you to help them out..... He also said that the King wouldn't forget this favor if he were to take control of the court and become an official king." Said Rei who looked nervous as she knew what could happen to her brother and should we also join and lose then we would most likely be executed.

"Heh... Are you worried Rei? ..... Don't worry... You can tell your brother that I'm willing to help him whenever he needs me." I said while trying to look cool. Which seemed to have worked since my wife calmed down a bit after seeing me.

"Thank you for this... En... I'll help you with anything if I ever can.." Said Rei who looked thankful and happy.

"Hehe... Don't worry about it... We're husband and wife..... However there is a way that you can indeed help me with...." I said before grinning and putting my face on Rei which made her blush as she knew what I meant...

Kyou En's Pov:

"It is an honor to meet you your Highness... King Ei Sei!" I said while kneeling and cupping my hand.

"Mhm.. it is an honor to also meet you... I've heard a lot about you.... I also thank you for your assistance" Said the king who was sitting in his chamber.

I looked at him trying to discern him.... The man was wearing a luxurious red and yellow robe that has some unique patterns...his face looked incredibly mature for someone of his age.... However the strongest impression that he gave me was his eyes..... His eyes seemed full of determination.... He seemed to have a will like no other....even I would not be able to compare at all...

"It was my wife who asked me for help... How could I say no...." I said while looking at King Ei Sei while trying to see how he would react....

However to my surprise... He didn't react at all and just calmly nodded.... I then looked at the official next to him who was about to open his mouth.

Shou Bun Kun's Pov:

The impudence.... I thought while looking at this man who was said to be a prodigy in warfare and was the student of Ko Shou who was the only pure strategist of the 6 Great Generals..... He dared to test the King and see how he would react when he mentioned that he was only helping because he was asked by his wife.....

I first heard of him from Kou On who was just a low ranking official that said he might be able to get support from his sister's husband..... someone that I never expected would be able to help us... 

However although I could tell that Kyou En didn't mean much harm .... I still couldn't let it slide... Although I didn't do anything after seeing my King just nod at this..... Although he seemed a bit arrogant... He does have 3 thousand men under his command... And if he could really help us... Then it would be a massive boost to our forces...

"I am Shou Bun Kun...thank you Kyou En dono.... Your assistance will be vital to our King. I guarantee you that we won't forget this favor and would help you in the future whenever you fave any trouble." I cupped my hands and introduced myself... something that made him smile at me.

"It is an Honor to meet Lord Shou Bun Kun... Actually I have seen you from afar a few times in war during King Shou's time..." I said while looking at this official who used to be a former renowned general.

"Oh? It is a shame that we didn't get to know each other before this then..." Said 

Shou bun Kun with a surprised look.

"Anyways Shou Bun Kun.... Should we get to the point? It would be too dangerous if some people were to realise that something is going on after we tried so hard to conceal Kyou En's presence here" said King Ei Sei who felt like I didn't want to be here for long.

"Indeed sir....". Said Shou Bun Kun before he started telling me a bit of the plans he had.

1 year later....

245 B.C.

Kyou En's Pov:

I heard from Lord Shou Bun Kun about the situation and he said that the situation is only going more worse and that they will escaping soon since King Ei Sei has already had multiple assassination attempts and Shou Bun Kun thinks that Sei Kyou will be openly rebelling anytime now.

I have been tasked with putting my troops near a mountain close by to reinforce them for when they would probably get ambushed after leaving the capital.

It has been only a bit since then and I could already hear some disturbance which made me get ready....

I sent 2500 of my forces to the hidden mountain resort that Shou Bun Kun mentioned they would be going to while leaving 500 soldiers from Shi En's unit here since having anymore would just make it easier for our presence to be caught.

I then go with Shi En to lead the unit at the front.... Shi En has also gotten extremely strong due to the wars and constant sparring we've been having... He even managed to land a few good blows on me the last time we sparred... I thought before getting shocked at a sight I never thought of... Something that I thought might ruin our plan.

General Ouki... The only living legend of the 6 Great Generals ambushing Shou Bun Kun's unit that was escorting the King...

However it seems that Shoubunkun expected an ambush and had a unit hidden nearby which made me worried as I knew Ouki wouldn't miss this... And I was right as Ouki also had his own hidden unit....

I then get my unit to charge without wasting anymore time as I saw Ouki's ferocious soldiers killing Shou Bun Kun's units easily.....

Our presence managed to help Shou Bun Kun greatly however it seemd Ouki wasn't disturbed and was clashing with Shou Bun Kun while having his people focus on the wagon and our unit.

It was shortly after that the King surprised the soldiers and showed his power which improved our morale before he changed directions... Something that made me surprised so I ordered my full unit to follow... However Ouki who already made Shou Bun Kun fall of a cliff started to focus on me and my unit which made it impossible.... 

"... Kyou En... Focus on these people... I'll go after the King myself!" Shi En said before leaving his unit behind and going all by himself.

Shi En is strong... I'm sure he can help him easily....

I then look at Ouki who was right beside me with a wide grin while having his Glaive Up about to swing it at me....

"Nfufufu... You must be Kyou En... It's a shame that you will die now... But don't worry as I will bed you in the afterlife Nfu" said ouki before he swung at me with his glaive.

"Tch" I quickly swung my glaive back however my strength was surpassed as he nearly made me fall of my horse.... However I realized that he wasn't even going serious which made me wonder why.... However my thoughts stopped as he spoke

"Oh? Your stronger than I thought.... And that glaive..." He spoke while staring at my glaive eyeing it closely.

".... That belonged to Chou Sha... I did hear that he died to injuries after returning from a war... Could it be that it was from you", Spoke Ouki as he swung his glaive again.

However, I reacted fast and was prepared this time so I was able to parry it ... Which surprised him a little before he chuckled with his creepy laugh.

"Nfufufu not bad..." He said

"Hmph... I did indeed fight against Chou Sha during the war of Haku Plains.... However he was a monster... I was only able to injure him a bit while most of his injuries came from Ga Rin.... I only managed to get a few good hits in." I said while still clashing with Ouki.

"Oh? It still a most impressive job well done nfufu.... anyways it's about time we end this" Ouki said before swinging his blade in a way different than before... A speed faster than before.... And strength that managed to knock even me down..... Not to brag but I'm considered a really strong person now... I can even fight against Ga Rin equally with it being a draw most of the times....

As I got knocked off my horse... I quickly try to have my weapon put on a defensive stance trying to defend on the attack he'd do while im down... However he just looked at me and spoke before leaving...

"Nfufu.. we've had enough fun for today... I will remember you Kyou En.... Well then gentlemen... It's time to go" he said before having his soldiers retreat which gave me some breathing time...

As expected... That man did not come here serving Prince Sei Kyou..m otherwise we'd all have been dead and he would've probably gone to check on the King himself instead of clashing with us.... I thought before ordering the unit to head to the hidden resort quickly as that would be were Shi En and the king would be if they managed to escape.
