8 Chapter 8: Kou Rei
5 Years later....
247 B.C.
Kyou En's Pov:
I am 20 now...
It has been 5, years since the death of my teacher... And a lot of things have changed....
Almost all of Qin's Great Generals and King Sho have died.... which resulted in Qin's military being greatly weakened.
I have also become a 3000 man commander now. I thought, while looking at Ga Rin who I still can't believe joined my unit.
5 Years ago.....
....
"What?!! Are you sure Ga Rin? What about your troops? If you join me then you'll lose most of your troops" I said shocked.
"Yes.... Most of my troops already died during the war.... And since you just became a 1 thousand man commander... You should be able to take my troops.. not to mention that most of your unit died in the fire with only a few of them surviving. And about my General rank? I only wanted to serve Lord Ko Shou...." Ga Rin while looking at me straight in the eye before showing sadness when mentioning Ko Shou's name.
"But why me? Why would you want to serve a 1 thousand man commander like me??" I asked still confused as to why someone who's said to be as good as Renpa's four heavenly kings would want to join me.
"My Lord Ko Shou... Has already passed away.... However he always spoke highly of you and your talents.... He also treated you and Kyou Yi as his children... Therefore I wish to join and serve you; Who could be said to be his child although of different blood!" Ga Rin said while looking at me with respect as being highly praised by Ko Shou was not something common."
"....Ko Shou sama really did help us a lot.... Even Yi started to see him as a father figure after he lost his parents at a young age.... Very Well Ga Rin! You joining my unit will help me a lot.... Although a general can't really serve someone of lower rank..... You were made General by Ko Shou sama.... So you can't really be considered an actual general although you had the same powers as one.
However you are still someone capable of being a general and were the right hand man of Great General Ko Shou.... You could be made as General if you just asked so.... I will ask you this one last time. Are you sure?!!" I asked while looking seriously and slightly happy that he might join me.
"Yes! I have made my decision and I will not regret it.... Captain" Ga Rin said while smiling.
"Heh... Very well then...." I said while looking joyous before getting He Ya to bring wine to all of us.

Back to the present.....
there are also three other important things that have happened to me and my unit during these 5 years....
First of all.... I have also decided to use a glaive, as my body has grown stronger and more capable of weilding one... I have seen that Glaives would be more effective for Cavalry.... I will still have my spear on me and be using it sometimes although I will be mostly using a glaive as my main..... Not to mention that the Glaive I use isn't ordinary. I thought while looking at my eerie black glaive....
This Glaive is the weapon that Chou Sha of Zhao's three great heavens used before having it dropped without the chance of picking it back up.... He Ya who is my wine man that was close to me during that time managed to pick it up and gave it to me later.... I must say though.... This really is one special glaive... A lot sharper and more durable than the others that I have seen.
The second thing is that Yi will be joining my Unit officially as my strategist from now on...He has met and helped my unit around a month ago and has then continued helping us a bit although he's only seen some small skirmishes with troops being around a few hundred at best... However... Now he has officially joined our unit with the position as Strategist.... He has already gotten close to the unit and the Raging Demons unit who are led by Ga Rin have already taken a liking to him due to already knowing who he is.... So all is fine.
Lastly.... The special unit that I wanted to create has finally been made a few months ago after Advisor Rai Ki having managed to find 500 people that have been working hard in my city Sai.... These people will be directly under me and I plan for them to be the core elite unit for my future army.
My unit is currently made of....
Captain- Kyou En... 3 thousand man commander. (Special 500 men unit directly under his command all Cavalry)
Strategist- Kyou Yi
Liteunants... Ga Rin....1 thousand man commander... All Elite Cavalry
Shi En- 1000 man commander.... 700 Cavalry and 300 infantry
Shuu Ki- 500 man commander.... All infantry....
2200 Cavalry 800 Infantry

"Captain..... There is another enemy unit coming here with around 3 thousand troops!" Said one of my messengers who seem to have gotten information from our scouts up ahead...
We were currently in the borders of Qin and Zhao, and we were tasked with building a small fortress in this hill..... It was decided that only the 3 thousand of us was enough since it wasn't considered a too important place that the enemy would risk bringing an army for.
However we have been constantly attacked the past few days which has made it harder to progress....
"Have Shi En's 700 cavalry that have been lying in ambush to rush the moment they start going up the hill.... Then have 800 of our infantry led by Shuu Ki, to defend the front of the fortress while bringing Ga Rin And Brother's unit to attack in wave formation, while they are focusing on Shi En." Said Kyou Yi who was standing beside me.
"Hehe... You sure are fast at this Yi...." I said in satisfaction as he had managed to react appropriately.
I then get on my horse before shouting "Let's do this Men!!!!!"
"Haha Captain sure is fired up... He really has changed a lot during these few years...he seems to enjoy war now... he's also been making a few bold and daring tactics every once in a while... Something he never did before as he was always cautious." Said Ryuu Yen who was beside Shuu Ki.

I then grab my Glaive waiting for the right time as Shi En has already engaged with the enemy and has taken most of their attention as he showed incredible strength....
I then have Ga Rin to attack with 500 of his troops and have him send his other 500 after 5 minutes... Which seem to have been effective as we have already been effectively cutting down the Zhao soldiers... The Zhao commander tried to have his troops to go around, however I then charge with my special unit and not give them time to recover. This had the Zhao commander, who had lost most of his unit to order a retreat...
My special unit are people that have been seen to be incredibly gifted in their combat ability and are people who can wield their weapon to an incredible amount.... However they lack experience in warfare which has made them a bit inferior compared to Ga Rins elite unit... However as we have been having more wars.... I can tell that they've been getting incredibly stronger as they have been adapting fast these past few months...

....
.... I am now in Kanyou... The Royal Capital of Qin .....
I am now in an alley watching a weird scene, after hearing a females voice screaming.
I can see a few thugs surrounding a young woman....
The woman had straight long blonde hair.... Something that was incredibly rare in these lands.... she also had deep blue eyes while wearing black and white silk tunic showing that she was probably someone of high status... Most likely a noble.
"Oi Woman... Better to just let us take you without resisting.... It would save you a lot less pain hehe" said an ugly looking thug while having a smug face.
"We've really found a gem haha.... We can get a lot of money by selling someone like you...." Said another thug...
"You imbeciles ... Do you not know who you are messing with?" Said the woman while looking at them with disgust.
"Hehe... I love bringing down a prideful person... It always gets me on" Said the ugly thug from before.
"Hehe so what if you're a noble? We'll just have to educate you properly not to cause us trouble hehe" continued the ugly thug...
I was about to interfere before I saw the woman bringing out a small knife which surprised me.
"Hehe... Do you really think you can beat us?" Said the thug before getting surprised as he realised that she did not bring the knife out to fight them as he saw her knife touching her throat....
'What a strong willed woman....' I thought
However I decided to stop my thoughts and quickly interfere before something might happen....
"Wait Woman!" I shouted to get her attention before walking to her and taking the knife from her without giving her time to react which startled her a bit before she opened her mouth
"Who are you.... Are you also with them?" She said cautiously.
"Heh... Do not compare me with scum like them.... Anyways I saw what was happening.... I am really surprised by your strong willed mind though..." I said while looking impressed...
"Anyways... Young Miss.... Your a noble right?" I said to her.
"... Indeed I am " she said while still looking cautiously although a little less.
"Hehe.... Oi you bastards... Do you know what the punishment for attacking nobility is?" I said while bringing my sword out that was in my back, as my other weapon wouldn't fit well - due to it being harder to swing them in an alley like this.
"Huh? Who does this bastard think he is?? Walking and ignoring us like that... Thinking he's some hot stuff..." Said a thug with anger clearly shown.
"Hmph... He's probably trying to gain some points with her... Let's just teach him a lesson and kill him before taking the woman with us" Said the ugly thug.
"... The punishment is... Death!" I said without giving them any more time to speak as I quickly slashed and killed the ugly looking thug, before looking at the others while walking to them which made them scared as they couldn't see me move.
"H-how" one of them said before falling... However it was too late as I have already sliced his neck off...

....
I then look at the Woman who seemed a bit frightened while looking at the blood on my face that dyed my hair a bit.
I thought she would be too afraid to say anything but she bowed a bit and said
"Thank you sir for saving my life... The Kou family shall repay this favor sometime" Said the woman after calming herself.
"It's fine... Anyways what's your name?" I said while smiling trying to make her less afraid although it made me look a bit more scary with the blood on my face ....
"My name is Kou Rei... Oldest daughter of the Kou household..." Said Kou Rei as she cupped her hands.
" I am Kyou En... The lord of a small city called Sai" I replied while also cupping my hands
... "Anyways Kou Rei san... Are you alright?" I said to her.
"Yes.. they didn't do anything to me... Also thank you for the help... If it wasn't for you... Then I'm afraid I would have either died or made to do disgusting things for them...." Kou Rei said while having a disdain look.
"Haha... It was nothing don't worry.... More importantly..." I said before getting closer to her which caught her off guard a bit before continuing my sentence "Do you want to have a meal together sometime?" I said while looking at her.
She looked confused before realizing what I said as it is probably something many people have asked her for already.... She only giggled a bit before saying" Sure.... I'm interested in learning more about you as well so it's good with me " she said still giggling while clapping her hands.
"Hehe" I replied with a short laugh.

5 months later....
I am currently in Sai training with my special unit... Nothing much has happened during these past 5 months... Other than me and Kou Rei improving our relationship....
I have started to like her genuinely and not just for her looks.... Although we aren't in a relationship yet... We have still been going out a bit and we've already learnt quite a bit from each other.... She is from the Kou Household which is from a small noble family that seems to serve the king.... Although I hear rumors of the current new king who is barely in his teens to have a rivalry with his half brother....
I have also met her father once when he invited me to her birthday party.... He seemed to be a low profile person as he didn't want to invite too many people to the party, and only had closely related people to attend it... He also asked me a few questions like How I feel about Kou Rei, and similar stuff which kind of embarrassed me a bit....
I am planning to ask for Kou Rei's hand in marriage the next time I see her.... I think we have a good compatibility....she seems especially cute when she's serious ... Although she pokes me a bit when she sees me looking at her weird which I just laugh off - and blame her for looking too pretty to which she changes her pokes to a slap while blushing.
1 year later.....
"I expected you to ask for my hand a lot earlier you know" Said an attractive blonde woman while giggling.
"Hehe... I thought so myself too... However I've just been too busy Rei..." I said to her as I gave her a luxurious gold looking ring to her in front of many other people who include her father who was smiling with tears.... As well as my brother who was literally crying....
"Oh...?? So your saying drinking is more important than me?" Rei said while looking at me as if she wanted to stab me which made me shiver.... Something that even normal commanders haven't been able to make do...
"N-No.... I haven't been drinking much these days... I've mostly been training and doing some paperwork...." I said while looking away which she continued her glare before suddenly stopping and giggled..
"Hehe... I'm just joking....you dummy" Rei said while poking me before grabbing my hand...
