Chapter 2: Life as a Noble
264 B.C.
Kyou En's Pov:
Well damn.... It seems I reincarnated back into the past during Ancient China where it would be strange if there was no war for even a year.
I've learned a bit more about my situation by listening to my Father and the servants....
I'm currently in the state of Qin living in the city of Sai which is close to the capital.
It seems my Noble education will start when I turn 5.... Not only that but my father who is now an official at the palace and is usually away from home was actually a former 5000 man Commander!!!.
From what I know.... As a noble, I have two paths..... Either become an Official or a Soldier.... Well I still have time so I'll just keep those in mind while trying to gather more information.
The only problem I have now is that I can't leave this castle due to being too young which is annoying.
Life really is boring as a child....
" Ahhh" I cried out with a childish voice

" Oh dear.... Are you still awake En? Why do you never sleep early like your supposed to" Kyou En said while opening the door to enter my room and giving me a stern look.
"Hehe" was all i said which just made her stare even stronger.
"Mother where's father?" I spoke while trying my best to talk like a child.
This seemed to work as she just sighed and look at me with a more gentle gaze before saying "He's had some important business to attend to so he probably won't return for a while."
"Why is father always away and never home....." I say while showing a saddened tone..... Because it's true... I have gotten used to this new family of mine who keep showering me with affection.
I wouldn't want anything to happen to them.
"It's because he's doing his best to make sure you have a comfortable life and to protect you....When you become older then it'll be your turn to protect us when we become old... You hear me En?" My mother said while kissing me in the cheeks. Which actually gave me a new determination to do my best to not have anything happen to them during these cursed times.
"Mhm, don't worry mother... I'll become strong and protect you and Father"
"Hehe how cute, Alright now go to sleep... and I don't want to see you awake the next time I enter your room" My mother said in a gentle tone which made it alot more scary and made me nod heavily before lying down.
" Good night Mother"
"Good night En"

Kyou En's Pov:
I am now 5 years old.... and as I have expected... This is the turning year of my life where many things have begun to change.
I have started to learn Etiquette and my Father has also had me watch him do paperwork a few times saying this is the requirements that a Noble must have.
Not only that but my Father has also let me go out of the Castle for a bit although I'm always accompanied by Guards and Servants incase something happens.
More importantly... My father Kyou Ren has also made me start some sword training... having an experienced Soldier train me with a wooden sword. At first I didn't want to but then remembered my Goal of protecting my family. Not only that but I also had a strange connection that I felt when I held the sword.... Like I was suited for the sword and even My Mentor was surprised saying I was a prodigy.
'Anyways, I don't have much time to think about the past now because today is a special Day. It seems like I'm going to have a sibling.'
I thought in my head before seeing my Father grab my shoulders
"Don't be worried En, Your Mother and the child will be safe and nothing will happen to them.... Make sure to look after your sibling ok?" I see my father saying this to me while shaking a bit..... Seems like he's the one afraid.
"Yes father... Don't worry, I'll look after them."
" Wahahaha, That's my Son-" My father stopped his conversation as he saw a servant opening the door and hurrying to him.
"Whats wrong? Is it all good?" My father having sweat on his face and clearly worried asked the servant.
"My Lord, It was a success... It seems to be a healthy boy." The servant said which made both me and my Father smile.
"The Madam is calling for you My Lord"
"Wahaha, Very well" My Father says while laughing before opening the door and smiling when seeing his child in his Wife's arms.
"You did a good job You, Are you feeling alright?" My father asks My tired Mother but I ignored what they were seeing and instead looked at the cute looking child who was crying.
"Mother, what's his name?" I asked my Mother who looked at me before smiling "Yi.... His name is Kyou Yi."
"Kyou Yi...." I muttered while looking at him

A few days Later:
In a small office, there can be seen someone Doing paperwork next to an Adult female by his side and next to the chairs by the side.... There can be seen a small child carrying a newborn baby....
"Father, You won't be busy for awhile right?" Said Kyou En
"Mhm, I want to spend some time with my children and Wife hehe... HM? Said Kyou Ren as he looked at his wife and children before noticing some disturbance outside the room.
"What's this Ruckus?!!" Shouted Kyou Ren, clearly angered that his family time was disturbed
As the door opens, there can be seen an elderly man who looks extremely tired like he's been running here for a whole day.
"Hm Rai dono? What's wrong?" Kyou Ren said looking shocked that it was his Advisor that was causing the disturbance and he knows he wouldn't do anything like this unless it was important.
"M-My Lord, Urgent Report!!!, You've been called to Kanyou for an emergency and I was told that to give you this message which has been forbidden to show to anyone else!!!" Said Advisor Rai
"What??!!" Said Kyou Ren shocked which made him grab the scroll to read the message.
Kyou En's Pov:
Hmm?? An emergency which has need of him to go to Kanyou?? But he's only a mid ranking official so why is he being called like this??
I think of while looking at my Father who's sweating more and more while looking at the letter.....
"I can't believe this....." Kyou Ren muttered....
"Im sorry You, En but it looks like I won't be able to come home for a few months."
"Huh is it something important Dear?" Kyou You said looking worried.
".... I've been called to go to Kanyou with the Five Thousand soldiers under my command!!!"
"HUH?! But weren't you retired as a soldier??", I said looking confused.
"Mhm, The Five Thousand soldiers joined me in my retirement to become normal Guards of this City... That shows how important this is... If they're even calling a retired Soldier like me..... I fear that I might have to go to a big war...." Said Kyou Ren clearly Shakened.
" !!!!! No way.....?" I said looking afraid that something might happen to father which made me accidentally press my hands tigher which my my little brother cry a bit.

My Father then looks at me and kneels to my height before grabbing my Hair... " En.... You'll be the Man of the house now... So protect your Mother and little brother" My father said smiling while playing with my hair.
My father then went to have a private talk with Mother before gathering the soldiers.... I decided to go outside to watch him leave....
" It seems its time for me to go now En" Said my father who's Infront of the city gate now.
He looked at me while smiling.... Behind him were thousands of troops all laughing trying to calm the tension.
Above the city walls can be seen with many elderly and young people cheering at them and showing their concern for them...
" Take care Father" I said while bending my legs slightly and putting my hands on together... A greeting i learned in my Etiquette classes.
"Mhm" My father nodded at me looking satisfied before shouting
"Let's Go Men!!"
"OOHH!!!!" The soldiers shouted before Marching with their Lord.
It was there that I saw a sight which showed the Path I wanted....
A Heroic soldier Marching with thousands bedsides him ready to destroy all that stands in its way.... And protect what was behind them... That sight made me look at them in awe.
...
However... Despite 2 long years passing.... Father still hasn't returned
260 B.C.
Kyou En's Pov:
Although father still hasn't returned from the big war that started 2 years two ago....
I still continued with my life doing Etiquette and watching Father's Advisor doing his paperwork.
It was similar to what I have already been doing.... I have also been Training harder than ever... Although I stopped using the sword since I got quite bored of it which greatly shocked and angered my mentor with him trying to persuade me to go back to i by saying stuff like "The sword is not a toy but something that is used for life and death" but I ignored him and decided to use a Spear which was more difficult....
I have been given a different trainer that is used for spears..... The reason i decided to use a spear was because i believed that it would be a lot more efficient to use in wars that I will be going to in the future.... Yes that's right, I decided on my Path.... Which is to Become a general like no other....
I thought of while imagining my future self which made me grin.
As I walk in the... castle after finishing my training, I hear some news about the war that's going on. It was a war like no other..... No one expected the war to be like this...
Although it started with Qin against Han .... It soon turned into Qin vs Zhao
"Did you hear??? It seems like The war's coming to an end with us being the victor's.... Although the results are kind of scary" Whispered a servant to the other workers.
"Mhm, It seems that over 200 Thousand Qin soldiers died..... What if something happened to the Lord??....." Said another worker who looked worried
"You idiot, Did you forget who Lord Kyou Ren is? He wouldn't be taken down easily...." Said the worker from before who tried to deceive herself in thinking that it'll all turn out good.
It seems Father sure is well liked in the city... I even realised that during the few times I went out.
"So? How did the war end?" Said a clueless young female
"Well it seems Great General Haku Ki decided to Bury 400 Thousand Zhao soldiers alive...." Said a male servant who looked afraid thinking about the deaths
"400 Thousand Buried alive? Hah servers them right, My father was tortured and killed by those Zhao Bastards" Said another male servant who looked happy although all the other workers were scared by the news
"Urgent Reportttt!!!!!!, The Lord is back!!!!!!! The lord has returned Alive!!!!!" Said a running servant looking tired but happy.

" I'm sorry for taking longer than I said I would You, En.... You've all grown up splendidly.... Especially you Yi" Said Kyou Ren who was now sitting in his Office while picking Yi up who is now 2 years old and looking at us with a smile.
"it's fine..... What about you? Are you alright? You don't know how much you made us worried" Kyou You said as she hugged Kyou Ren
""Mhm..... This war was definitely not a normal one.... It was a disaster... However I'm fine... Don't worry " Said Kyou Ren who looked a bit older now..... With Short black hair and brown eyes... Although its possible to spot of a strands of gray hair now...even though he's young.... the war must've impacted him much more than he looks.
"More importantly, I heard that you wanted to become a Soldier En? Are you sure?" Said my father
"Yes Father, I decided that I want to aim on becoming a General that will protect my family and this city...." I said looking determined
"..... Wahahaha That's my son indeed...., Very well En... I'll teach and train you personally from now on...." Said my Father who looked back to how he used to be which made me laugh a bit...

2 Years Later.....
258 B.C.
Thus the year that would Impact me the most started....
Kyou En's Pov:
I am now 9 years old and I have been taking Lessons from my dad who has been incredibly satisfied with me saying that I'm a rare talent for understanding his tactics and being able to utilize them in simulations that we have. Although most of that is because my mind is that of an adult.
... My father has also been watching me train with the spear.... Although my talent with the spear was less than the sword... It still caused my spear trainer to be filled with pride as I was learning some of his techniques. My trainer had me Thrust my spear non stop trying to improve the speed at which i do it... He also taught me other things to do like slashing right after thrusting which he said would definitely help me a lot. Now i am trying to learn some known spear techniques which are known to be quite difficult like Dragon's talon and Dragon's nest.
Although I'm failing at performing them with the ability i have right now.....
" Brother, can I train with you?" Said a childish voice.
"Haha not yet Kyou Yi.... When you get older then maybe...." I said looking at my younger brother who always follows me.
Anyways.... I should check on my mother who's pregnant now to see if she's alright....
A few months later
Kyou En's Pov:
These days have been incredibly fun... Mother has even given birth to a girl this time.... Which me and Yi play with al the time.
The baby's Name is.... Kai, Kyou Kai....
Right now me and Yi are a bit sad though since Father and Mother are taking Kai on a small trip
"Take care of yourselves En and Yi.... I entrust them to you Rai..." Said Kyou Ren
"Yes Sir! I shall do my best to not disappoint you" Said Advisor Rai Ki
"En... Your the older brother and your strong now.... So I know nothing bad will happen to you but make sure you take care of yourself.... And sleep on time and take your meals regularly... Don't push yourself too hard.
Also.... Yi don't cause the servants and your brother too much trouble while we're away and make sure to listen to En and Advisor Rai Ki... You hear me? Said Kyou You with a soft tone before pinching me which it hurt.... Seems like she knew i always stayed awake haha...
"Hehe Don't worry mother, I will be good" Said Kyou Yi While poking Kai.
"Wahahaha That's my Sons for you.... I can confidently travel to places without having to worry about you guys now...." Said Kyou Ren who put his hand on both me and Yi's Hair..... before they left to travel to some rural area for a short vacation for the two of them to have alone....
It wasn't just me and Yi..... Most of the people in the city were also waving their farewells to them which made Kyou Ren smirk before getting Glared at by Kyou You.....
... And thus the Tragedy began
